Chapter 574 Don't Worry, You Won't See Me There

"Have some milk," Mandy said as she handed them their respective glasses.

After finishing his milk, Adrian went into the washroom to brush his teeth. When he returned, he hopped onto the bed. "Good night, Dad. Good night, Mom."

Mandy laughed softly as she gazed at the adorable boy in front of her.

At that moment, she couldn't help but feel a flood of guilt overcoming her. Tears ran down her cheeks, wetting the quilt below her. 'I'm sorry that I didn't come back for you until now, Adrian, ' she thought. That would probably be her biggest regret.

She lifted up Adrian's shirt, gazing at the scar that he had gotten from the surgery. Adrian was just a little kid, yet he had suffered more than her. The more she thought about it, the more distressed she felt.

Even if she hated Nathan, Adrian had done nothing wrong.

Mandy sighed. Why was she being so stubborn? If she hadn't left, if she hadn't gone away, then she wouldn't have left her son here.

Gazing at Adrian, who was sleeping soundly beside her, Mandy smiled softly. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain from her lower abdomen. She winced. Once again, she was greeted by her menstrual cramps.

After drinking the milk, Nathan went to take a shower. When he came out of the bathroom, he found that they had already fallen asleep.

Mandy frowned in her sleep. Even as she was sleeping, she couldn't help but feel restless, as if something was bothering her.

A gentle look flashed in Nathan's eyes. He couldn't help but feel sorry for her. He pulled the quilt over her body. The moment he bent down, the milky scent entered his nostrils.

However, the atmosphere in the car was not as warm as that in the villa. Sitting in the car, neither of them said a word. As Nathan drove closer to Mandy Mall, he glanced at her. "Can you not take off your ring?"

It was only then when she realized that she was still wearing the ring he had given her. She nodded in response.

Nathan drove to JS International directly. He didn't stop his car at Mandy Mall. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "I'm going to work at Mandy Mall."

"Yes, but your office isn't there. The office is at JS International due to their affiliation," he explained.

"Are you setting me up?" she demanded.

Mandy thought that he was deceiving her to go to work in JS International instead. That would mean that she had to be with him every day.

Nathan sneered, stopping the car. "Don't worry, you won't even see me there."

Seeing his face, Mandy realized that she must've hurt him. "I–I didn't mean that."
