Chapter 491 Go To Bed Early

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
It was only when Mandy left that Nathan finally understood the meaning of heartbreak.

This was the reason why Nathan frequently visited Switzerland over the next two years. He watched over Adrian's recovery. Now, Adrian had finally fully recovered. However, his disease left a scar on his chest—a scar that reminded Nathan of what they'd been through for the last few years.

He couldn't help but feel guilty that Adrian wasn't able to enjoy a complete family as a child. It was in those years that Nathan waited aimlessly for Mandy. He had no idea if she was going to come back or not, so he concealed his son's identity. The only ones who knew Adrian was their biological son were him, Fred, and the team of doctors.

Nathan had thought of different kinds of possibilities of what had happened to her. However, he didn't expect that she'd return with Colin as her husband. Thinking back to the intimate scene between Mandy and Colin, he clenched his fists in anger.

With all of this happening, Nathan didn't want to force the idea upon her too much. He was afraid that Mandy would be disgusted with him, but if he didn't use any despicable means, she wouldn't return. The child was his only trump card, but he also didn't want Mandy to return just because of the child either. He wanted her to return willingly.

At the Summer Villa

It was late at night and silence reigned in the hallways.

When Mandy finally ensured that Lisa was fast asleep, she headed to the living room to get her phone. As she passed by the study, her eyebrows furrowed when she noticed that the lights were still turned on. She knocked on the door and entered.

Colin was sitting at his desk, staring at the laptop in front of him. He frowned, scanning t

phone.

"Hello." A low voice sounded from the other end of the line.

Mandy froze. It was as if a ball had risen up into her throat, preventing her from speaking.

"Say something, or I'll hang up," he stated.

"Wait… I–It's me," she blurted out.

"Why are you calling me so late?" Nathan had already fallen asleep. However, he woke up the moment his phone rang. When he saw that it was from Mandy, he slipped onto the balcony so as not to disturb Adrian.

"Didn't you call me? I called to ask why," she replied, her fingers trailing down her nightgown.

"I just wanted to say thank you for buying Adrian clothes. He liked them very much." Nathan felt his heart throbbing in pain upon hearing her voice. Was it so hard to say that he called because he missed her? Because he missed hearing her voice? Why did he have to find an excuse?

"You're welcome." Mandy smiled. "Tell him to keep practicing."

"Why are you still up? You should go to bed early," Nathan reminded. It was actually Mandy who had taught him to go to bed early. Three years ago, when Mandy was still by his side, he had made it a habit to sleep early just to be with her.
