"I've been waiting for you, Mom!" Lisa ran up towards her, arms spread out to embrace her mother.

Mandy bent over and picked Lisa up with one arm. She used to be very weak, but ever since she adopted Lisa, she'd gotten much stronger over the years.

With a hand on her mother's face, Lisa kissed her on the cheek. "Mom, dad says we can go to the zoo tomorrow!" she cheered, raising her fists up in the air.

Mandy sat next to Colin and raised her eyebrows. "Tomorrow? Don't you need to go to work?"

"The zoo's always crowded during the weekends. Since Lisa wants to go to the zoo, we can go there on a weekday," Colin said gently.

"Don't spoil her too much. She's still just a child," Mandy said reproachfully. It was not until they became parents that she realized that Lisa had Colin wrapped around her pinky.

"Lisa's been behaving well, so she should be rewarded." Colin chuckled, twirling his fingers around his daughter's braids.

"Your father asked me to take you to the zoo."

Adrian pursed his lips. "Zoo? I don't like going there." His grandparents, Jason and Daisy, loved taking him to any zoo, aquarium, or amusement park near them. Different from other kids, he held no interest in those places.

"So you're not going?" Fred smiled.

"I'll go. As long as dad's with me, I'll be fine." Adrian was quick to agree whenever his father was involved. As long as it meant spending more time with his father, he'd go for it.

Fred chuckled, caressing Adrian's hair before taking him to see Nathan.

The sun was scorching. Mandy squinted her eyes under the heat. She didn't know why she came out in such hot weather! It was terrible!

However, it seemed that the father-and-daughter duo beside her were doing fine. Their enthusiasm could rival the bright rays as they chatted the entire time.

At 8 o'clock, the zoo finally opened.
