"Hey, Nathan, wait. It's cold outside. Put on your coat." Mandy scurried towards the car to catch up with Nathan.

Nathan stopped and turned around to look at her with tender eyes. "Silly girl, come on in. It's freezing here."

"I'm not cold. Put on your coat." Mandy slipped the coat on top of Nathan's shirt and straightened the little wrinkles on it.

Nathan couldn't help but smile at Mandy's thoughtfulness. "It's cold here. Why don't we go inside?" He trailed his fingers across Mandy's cheeks.

"Mandy, don't worry. I will always be with Nathan and make sure he doesn't do anything reckless." Simon smiled at Mandy, fussing over Nathan.

He couldn't help but wonder if Nacy would do the same for him.

"Yes. That's good." Nodding happily, Mandy waited until Nathan's car was out of her sight and then turned her heels and walked into the house with a small smile on her face.

Mandy stared out of the window as a cold wind swept across her face and ruffled her hair. She felt that there was going to be a change in the weather. She rubbed her palms and brought them to her mouth, blowing her hot breath, trying to warm them.

Mandy was bored after Nathan had left. She chatted with Lillian for some time and sauntered upstairs to take a shower.

It was only nine in the evening when Mandy walked out of the shower. She was wide awake and couldn't fall asleep.

Mandy grabbed her phone and decided to call Nacy.

Nacy answered the call immediately, and Mandy could hear the muffled sounds of laughter.

"Hello, Mand," she said in a sing-song voice. She sounded happy and cheerful, which brought a smile to Mandy's face.

"Nacy, what are you doing?" Mandy grinned happily as she rested her back on the bed and let out a contented sigh.

"I'm reciting my lines at home." Nacy hopped on the bed and closed her eyes. She was a part of a costume play that had lengthy, obscure lines, which were difficult for her to memorize. It had been a long, tiring day for her.

"Well, Nacy, I need you to help me with something." Mandy sighed loudly.

"Yeah, sure. What is it?" Nacy sat up and closed the script.

"Well, it's going to be your brother's birthday in a few days. I'm racking my brain to find the right gift for him. Do you know what he likes?"

"My brother is a strange guy. I'

efforts.

"Mand, tell me something. What is the difference between love and infatuation?" Nacy's mind was in a mess. She couldn't comprehend her feelings. What was the difference between what she felt for Bruce and what she felt for Simon? She liked them both, but who was she in love with?

"Ah, here comes the tricky part." Mandy smiled. "Well, you are attracted to a person and grow fond of them when it's just an infatuation. But love is magical; you always think about them and place their happiness above yours. You will want them to be happy even if you know that they are not yours." Mandy shifted in her bed and turned off the bedside lamp.

"Oh, okay," Nacy mumbled. She knitted her eyebrows, lost in thought. Mandy's words had confused her even more.

Was she not in love with Bruce? Was it a mere infatuation? According to what Mandy had said, Nacy was in love with Simon. She was fond of him and wanted him to happy, no matter where he was or who he was with. But wasn't that how you feel about your best friend? Wouldn't you want them to be happy? Nacy wanted to break her mind and run far away where her thoughts wouldn't taunt her.

"So, what kind of relationship do you and Simon share?" Mandy pursed her lips, eager to hear Nacy's answer. She knew that her words would knock some sense into Nacy's mind.

"I don't know." Nacy closed her eyes and swallowed loudly. Her mind wandered to the when Simon had slipped his jacket over her. She knew that she was in deep trouble; she needed to figure things out soon.
