"Stop panicking, Mand. Don't worry; I won't utter a word to anyone. Call Mr. Jin and see what he says." Cassie held Mandy's hand to comfort her.

Mandy swallowed loudly. She took her phone from the pocket of her white coat and called Nathan.

The phone rang for a few seconds before Nathan answered it.

"Hey, Honey! Do you miss me already?" Nathan's playful voice reverberated in Mandy's ears.

"Nathan, did you see the news?"

"Yes," Nathan replied calmly without a trace of worry in his voice.

"Will it harm your reputation?"

"It won't. Absolutely not. Don't worry."

Mandy's racing heart seemed to slow down after listening to Nathan's words. She sighed in relief.

"That's good. I was worried. I guess I've been thinking too much." Mandy touched her head and shook it, feeling ridiculous. What had she been thinking? It was Nathan. There was nothing in the world that he could not achieve.

"Don't worry. I'll pick you up after work. Everything will be fine."

Bruce had been staying at Nacy's apartment for a couple of days to rest. Nacy had been taking good care of him. She would cook all his favorite food and did everything to speed up the healing process. Nacy devoted her time to taking care of Bruce.

It was a mellow afternoon, and Bruce was resting in his armchair, with his eyes closed, enjoying every second of it. He never got the chance to rest before; everything seemed new to him. With Nacy taking care of him like a little child, Bruce had become lazier.

He snapped his eyes open when his phone rang. He quickly answered the call, and a frown tugged his forehead when he saw the caller ID.

The call was from the principal of No.1 High School. Bruce remembered the last time he had fired him and wondered why he was calling him at this hour.

Bruce cleared his throat and answered the call in his usu

to upset Nathan. Nacy seemed like the only one to help him.

Nacy looked down as a blush crept on her cheeks. She pouted and looked at him. "I guess I'm a bad actor. You have guessed it effortlessly."

Bruce shook his head and smiled. "No, Nacy. You are a wonderful actor. I almost believed you until now. I thought about you when the principal called me. Thank you, Nacy."

Nacy and Bruce smiled as their eyes met. They continued to stare without saying a word.

Nacy felt as if a century had passed and finally shifted her gaze from Bruce's face. "You're welcome. I will be happy as long as you are happy."

"Nacy, I don't deserve you." The sunlight shone on Bruce's face, and the warmth seeped into his body, making him feel light like the air. He closed his eyes and licked his lips, and a strand of hair brushed across his left eye. Nacy couldn't read his expression.

"I'll be mad at you if you say that again. Bruce, I didn't understand my feelings for you before. But things are different now. These few days with you have made me realize that I'm in love with you," Nacy said intently while staring into Bruce's eyes.

"Silly girl." Bruce smiled, shaking his head.

"Nope. I'm silly only around you," Nacy said, smiling happily.
