"He must be busy right now. There is a thirteen-hour time difference between China and America," Mandy sighed.

"Sister, what's going on between Nacy and my teacher, Bruce?" Fiona cocked her head to the side, looking curious.

"Well, Bruce once saved Nacy from an accident. That's how the two of them met."

"I see. But why did you pretend like you didn't know Bruce?"

"Ah!" Mandy groaned at the thought of it. She felt stupid, saying her feelings out loud. "At the beginning, when Nacy told me about Bruce, I didn't know how to react. "Sister, tell me something. Will your entire world be filled with that one person when you fall in love with him?" Fiona asked curiously. Fiona was holding the exercise book in her hand and was lost in thought. A boy of her same age had been after her, but Fiona wasn't ready to accept him. She felt that she didn't deserve a great guy like him.

Mandy's big, black eyes lit up. She wondered why Fiona was curious when she had never been in love with anyone. 'Does this mean that Fiona is in love with someone?' Mandy thought.

"Nana, are you in love with someone?" Mandy pursed her lips,

out loud, I'm sure people would think that it's unfair of me to absent for a long time. Moreover, there is a lot of work at the hospital. I have to catch up on that once I'm back, and I don't want to stress myself about the size of the workload."

Nathan thought for a moment and finally said, "Looks like you're going to be busy too."

"Yeah, I lost my attendance award last month. Although it's only five hundred bucks, I feel bad losing it." Mandy pouted. She had effortlessly lost the money when it wasn't hard to earn it.

It was her duty to be present at the hospital as the patients were spending their hard-earned money on their treatment. She couldn't afford to be selfish. The patients would already be anxious before their surgeries, and she didn't want her absence to pressurize them further.

"Yeah, you're right." Nathan had only considered Mandy's health before when he had asked her to take leave. But it was a matter of others' lives as well.

"You're sweet," Mandy gushed.

"Always am!" Nathan joked as he was excited to hear Mandy praise him.

She felt that it was a good thing that she didn't appreciate him often. Otherwise, he would become overconfident.

Men sometimes behaved like children. The usually cocky and macho Nathan was behaving like one after hearing Mandy's words of appreciation.
