"Nathan?" Simon pressed his eyes with his fingers, trying to wake up his senses. "Why are you calling me at this ungodly hour? Do you know what time is it?" he asked in confusion as he scratched his head.

"I'm outside your house. Open the door," Nathan said in a cold voice without answering Simon's question.

"What?! Are you out of your mind? You just returned from Las Vegas. Have you got jet lag, and you can't fall asleep? Why don't you stay at home and sleep with your wife instead of coming here to interrupt my sleep?" He dragged himself out to the main door. Simon whined and complained non-stop as he walked but still opened the door for Nathan.

When he opened the door, he saw Nathan's gloomy face. He immediately stopped complaining as he knew Nathan had a serious problem; otherwise, he won't bother coming to him at this hour.

"You look terrible! What happened?" Simon said in a low voice filled with concern.

He was disappointed. It was supposed to be a wonderful night, but it was ruined by Nathan's unexpected presence at his door with his negative aura.

Nathan looked very unhappy as if he had fought with Mandy.

Simon laughed at that thought. To ease the melancholic atmosphere, he tried to be lively and asked, "Bro, what's wrong with you?" In order to ease the embarrassment, Simon deliberately laughed. Then he reached out his hand and circled his arms across Nathan's shoulders. They were almost of the same height, so it was very easy for him to do so.

"Drink with me." Instead of answering the question directly, Nathan changed the topic.

Simon was a little surprised, and he immediately replied, "Yes, of course." As a friend, he decided to stay with Nathan and listen to whatever had bothered him, instead of crawling back to his bed.

He went to the cellar and took out the wine of his best collection.

He took two bottles of Petrus of 2006 and 2007 respectively. Nathan squinted at the wine, smiling. "Good wine," he remarked.

"Well… Why are you doing this?" He knew that tonight Nathan was going to tell him stories again as he always did this when he was in a bad mood.

Sadness flashed across Nath

t, Nathan was hesitant to call Luke "uncle." In that car accident, there were a lot of suspicious details. The truck driver escaped, and until now, he had not been caught.

With a helpless smile on his face, Simon said, "Nathan, it's awful that you have an uncle like him."

Nathan smiled without a word, staring at the wine bottle. Luke was the last family that his mother had.

If only he hadn't been his uncle, Nathan would have got rid of him long ago.

"Come on, let's have a drink." Nathan raised his glass and wanted to drink. He gently swirled the transparent goblet containing the scarlet liquid, giving off a faint smell of wine.

"You've come here to drink with me tonight, and I now understand why. But what about Mandy?" Simon didn't stop Nathan. He just narrowed his eyes and smiled lightly.

The scarlet liquid slid into his throat and gave off a sweet smell. Simon finished the glass of wine in one gulp.

When he heard Mandy's name, Nathan was stunned for a while. All of a sudden, he couldn't keep calm.

As he closed his eyes, his mind was filled with Mandy's delicate face. The scene that she was unwilling to part with him when he was about to leave kept flashing through his mind. In addition, she seemed to have wanted to say something but stopped on second thought.

Nathan knew that Mandy didn't want him to leave tonight, but she said nothing. She really was a clever woman, sometimes too clever.
