Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
"Bruce, thank you so much." A touch of tenderness surged in Mandy's clear eyes. She was glad to have such caring friends.

"You're welcome, Mand. As long as I am with you, I'm happy." Bruce's eyes were so expressive as if they were smiling on their own. He was a naturally sensible and observant person, but he couldn't figure out Mandy's thoughts.

Mandy was indeed special to him.

"Ha-ha..." To ease the awkward moment, Mandy forced a smile.

The atmosphere in the ward was uncomfortable and a little embarrassing.

It was not because she didn't know that Bruce had feelings for her. She had noticed it before. She had just ignored the thought. Even Fiona could tell that Bruce liked her. How could she not know it herself?

Bruce and Mandy used to be good friends since their childhood. However, they hadn't seen each other for a long time. Now that they had been reunited, Mandy felt that there was something strange between them, although Bruce seemed to be trustworthy.

Mandy yawned and felt her eyelids becoming heavier and heavier. She wanted to quietly sleep alone.

"Bruce, I'm a little sleepy. You don't have to stay here with me. Go home early."

"I have nothing to do at home, so let me stay here with you." He was frank and straightforward, confessing his real feelings.

She didn't know what to say about his persistence, so she bit her lips. Her head was too heavy to argue. "Okay. I'll sleep now."

"Sure, I'll just sit here with you."

He glanced at the IV line placed in Mandy's arm. There were two more bottles of glucose to be injected. He couldn't leave, of course. When the doctor came in for inspection, he said that Mandy was malnourished and sleepless.

Mandy dreamed of Nathan.

She saw Nathan gently patting her body like a mother coaxing her child to sleep. Therefore, Mandy had a good sleep.

She gradually accepted Nathan's presence and did not reject hi

him.

Nonetheless, Bruce didn't give up easily. He smiled as if he didn't care. "I understand, but I will still wait."

Mandy was in loved with someone else, but she wasn't in a relationship yet. Since they were not a couple yet, Bruce thought he still had a chance.

He was so stubborn. Mandy was afraid that she would hurt him. For her, it would be better to keep their friendship.

In fact, Mandy had noticed long before that Bruce had a crush on her, but she didn't want to admit it. Bruce would say "good morning" and "good night" to her every day. Surely he had special feelings for her.

Mandy fell into silence. She closed her eyes and pursed her lips. 'Let the time pass like that, ' she thought to herself.

A phone suddenly rang, interrupting their awkward moment.

Bruce gently walked to the window and answered the phone call.

Mandy gazed at his back. The setting sun penetrated through the glass window, and the sunlight poured in; however, Bruce looked melancholic.

The person on the other end of the line said something. Although Bruce gave a simple reply, he furrowed his dark brows.

After hanging up the phone, Bruce came back to the bedside. When he turned around, his tall figure covered most of the light, looking very mysterious.
