Chapter 227 - The Imperial Edict Summoning Her to the Imperial Palace

“Yes…”. Xing Er answered. It really surprised him a bit that Jing Yue knew exactly the ‘thing’ he did every day—sending the news to his Master as an eyeliner.

“I don’t think that will be a difficult thing to solve this matter with the title of ‘Ninth Imperial Uncle’. What do you think?” Smilingly, Jing Yue looked at Xing Er asking.

“Of course we can smooth the thing, but I’m afraid that the Emperor…he may not buy your words.” Xing Er flattened his lips for a second and then said.

“Well.” Jing Yue opened her mouth indifferently, “I will handle this.”

“What?” Xing Er was stunned, then he looked at Jing Yue with his confused eyes.

“I already ordered someone to spread the news in the Imperial Palace that I’m the owner of this Restaurant. Now, Xiao Chen isn’t here. If everything goes well as I expected, I will get the Imperial Edict tomorrow and the Emperor will call me into the Palace.” Jing Yue shrugged her shoulders and then she continued, “This trouble was caused by me, and I am the one who should be responsible for it. Don’t worry.”

Hearing the words Jing Yue said lightly and smilingly, Xing Er opened his eyes widely staring at her, incredulous.

However, Jing Yue still acted as if nothing happened, “I should leave now. Yin Qiao has prepared a tasty meal waiting for me at home.” Then she stood up and patted her clothes to get rid of all wrinkles. After that, she walked away with a spring in her step.

Xing Er kept looking at the direction she left with all the thoughts rolling in his messed mind until Jing Yue went out of his sight. Everything happened today was beyond his control. He could now no longer control himself and was convinced that some disaster was impending when Jing Yue went to the Palace facing the Emperor tomorrow but he couldn’t do anything for help since the Master wasn’t in the Imperial Capital now. Xing Er’s face became increasingly gloomier while thinking.

Different from Xing Er, Jing Yue had gone bed early after she had the dinner as usual, totally having no feeling of any danger coming. The next day morning, she really got the imperial edict from the Emperor as expected ‘inviting’ her to the palace. And this time, the Emperor even sent a carriage to pick her which truly gave her a big glory but also gave her no chances to say no.

Of course, Jing Yue never thought of refusing so she got in the carriage directly and went to the Palace with the eunuch holding the imperial edict.

Xing Er tried to go with them but he was stopped. After all, the imperial edict had noted clearly that only Jing Yue was invited and no guard was allowed to follow. Therefore, Xing Er had no options but to watch Jing Yue leave with them anxiously.

The master was on the way back right now but he would arrive tomorrow morning even he rode the horse without a break.

The problem was, Could Jing Yue hold out until he came back?

Xing Er didn’t know at all.

Standing in front of the door for a long while, Xing Er suddenly thought of something and immediately turned around running to the horse. He gave a leap and landed himself on the saddle of the horse and rode away.

Soon, Jing Yue arrived at the Palace. This was the second time for her standing in the Imperial Study. She remembered when she came here with Xiao Chen last time, she was so nervous and totally had no idea about imperial manners and rules. In this case, she was still scared a bit even she got Xiao Chen with her at that time.

But this time, she did perfectly on the kowtow etiquette. Moreover, she didn’t worry at all. Although she came here alone this time, she still kept a calm face.

“Jing Yue, do you know the reason why you are here now?” Sitting on the throne, Xiao Ye looked down at the women kneeling in front of him and asked with his eyebrows furrowed together tightly. Nearby him, Fu Ruoqing who was kneading the shoulders of the Emperor took her hands back after hearing the words. Meanwhile, an odd light flashed across her dark deep eyes.

“Yes, I do.” Jing Yue lowered her head answering, “The reason must be the case that someone died in the Restaurant on East Street.”

“I’m so glad that you know it!” Xiao Ye’s face darkened. Without any cover, the stateliness of an Emperor from him was enough to let Jing Yue know what kind of merciless punishment she would get once she said something wrong.

“I heard that it was you who was in charge of that Restaurant?” Xiao Ye snorted and looked at her speaking.
