Pulled by Helian Xiu, Jing Yue almost lost her balance. “What?! That’s all? I haven’t got enough fun.” She hastened to draw back her sight from the sachets and asked in a confused tone.

“There are too many people here.” Helian Xiu just pushed through the crowd and went on ahead. When they came to a quiet place without anyone around, Helian Xiu threw his arms around Jing’s waist and flew into the dark. Jing Yue clutched Helian Xiu’s sleeves in a hurry, thinking secretly, ‘Qing Gong (a kind of Chinese ancient Kung Fu, more specifically Lightness Skill, that enables people to move quickly like flying) is so cool, by which one can go anywhere.’

It wasn’t until Jing Yue felt herself stepping on the ground that she began to slowly open her eyes. She could barely see anything, with all the darkness surrounding her, and the only thing she could hear was the sound of water babbling in a brook at a distance. Through the pale moonlight, a meadow could be seen at last. Then the doubtful eyes of Jing Yue looked up towards Helian Xiu.

“Where are we now?” Helian Xiu was smiling ceaselessly as he walked towards the meadow.

“Ah!! Fireflies!!” Jing Yue exclaimed. As Helian Xiu took a step forward, several fireflies flew up as if they had been awakened by him. Then Helian Xiu took a few more steps, and all of a sudden, more and more fireflies flew one after another. The gleaming light surprised the eyes of Jing Yue.

“Wow! So many fireflies!” Jing Yue followed the steps of Helian Xiu when more and more fireflies flew around. Jing Yue laughed joyfully and strode her steps to run fast in the meadow, so all the fireflies were flying all over the night sky.

“How beautiful they are!” With a sincere admiration, Jing Yue looked back at the fireflies gleaming in the dark night.

Helian Xiu stood there with his hands behind his back, looking at the woman standing still in the dark night against the white moonlight and surrounded by dots of light, as if she was the brightest light in the dark night, and at that moment he could no longer take his eyes off her.

Deep in the night, Jing Yue was lying on the grass when she got tired from running. Looking at the stars in the summer night sky and smelling the fragrance of the grass on the wet earth, she seemed to return to the forest in a trance. She had spent countless summer days and nights like this.

“Helian Xiu, how do you know this place?” Jing Yue sat up and asked, looking at Helian Xiu, who was sitting beside her with his arms supporting himself.

“I have known it very early.” Helian Xiu slightly turned around and looked back at Jing Yue, his mouth hung with a shallow smile. He squinted and asked Jing Yue, “Do you like it?”

“Yes!!” Jing Yue kept nodding and said, “Can I come here later, too?”

“Yes, but you shall come with me.” Helian Xiu slowly nodded.

“Deal!” Jing Yue immediately agreed.

Anyway… she didn’t know the way.

Late in the night, Helian Xiu sent Jing Yue back to the Mansion while talking with Jing Yue all the way. Finally, they got to the entrance of the Mansion, Jing Yue turned around and looked at the man in white robe with jade belt standing in the night. She slightly raised the corner of her mouth and said, “You are quite trustworthy.”

“Of course,” Helian Xiu slowly nodded and said, “I have two more requirements.”

“Humph! I know!” with her mouth pouted in dissatisfaction and detestation, Jing Yue complained, “Not cute at all!”

With that, then she walked into the Mansion.

“Ha…” Helian Xiu paused for an instant and then chuckled out, looking at the majestic mansion with a flickering look, and gently murmured, “Jing Yue… Yue’er…” Undoubtedly he was calling the name of Jing Yue, but the last sound of “Yue’er” seemed to have a touch of sorrow and depression.
