“I guess His Majesty just winked at the eldest princess’ doings to vent her anger, for those killed were just nobody. ” Shangguan Linglan shrugged slightly.

“Since then, people in the Imperial City dare not to mention a word about the event of Princess Ziling publicly. No one knows what on earth happened last year. Anyway, Princess Ziling just came here to go through the motions, so her assessment won’t be a problem.” Shangguan Linglan slowly turned her head and glanced at Ziling who was sitting in the pavilion not far away.

“Oh, I see. So that’s why Yun momo is particularly lenient and easy with Princess Ziling. But we are treated by Yun momo as hard as she can!” Jing Yue said with a sigh of indignation.

“Yun momo has been always strict, she never means to be hard on us. Be content.” Looking at Jing Yue’s indignant face, Ning Xiangyuan said with a gentle smile.

“If she dares to pick on me, I will report her doings to Xiao Chen and she will be in great trouble!” Jing Yue raised her chin and said in a haughty way.

“Well, look at you! You dare to count on Ninth Imperial Uncle.” Shangguan Linglan looked up at Jing Yue unbelievably.

“Isn’t that what you all said that Xiao Chen is too powerful and no one dares to provoke him?” Jing Yue blinked and looked at Shangguan Linglan and Ning Xiangyuan.

Shangguan Linglan’s face changed a little, she just stared at Jing Yue, speechless. While Ning Xiangyuan was still smiling, Liu Miaoqiu wore a rather complicated expression and bowed her head in silence. The one-month training was coming to an end and June finally arrived.

All of them were packing up their belongings that day for they would leave the school the next day. They felt somehow excited for being liberated from the school after being bounded there for so long, so they talked and talked. No one fell asleep until midnight. While Jing Yue was in a sound sleep, suddenly she felt a sense of chill on her neck, it seemed that something was coiling around her.

Jing Yue groaned uncomfortably and felt very dizzy. She wanted to open her eyes but couldn’t. She frowned tightly and struggled to open her eyes while the grip around her neck became tighter. Finally, Jing Yue managed to open her eyes with all her might.

“What the hell!” Jing Yue raised her hand and touched her neck. Then something cold slipped into her hand. Through her half-awake eyes, Jing Yue found the thing around her neck turned out to be the small snake that had vanished for long.

“Damn it, are you going to strangle me!?” Jing Yue was so angry that she intended to pinch the small snake, while suddenly she smelt something scorching and then was totally awakened. Jing Yue turned her head, only to find thick smoke permeating in the room.

“Oh my god!” Jing Yue was so scared that she quickly got up and wanted to wake up others. However, the moment she stood up, she found herself so weak and powerless. She could smell something burning mixed with a bit of fragrance in the air.

“Hallucinogen! No wonder I didn’t notice it!” Jing Yue’s face turned pale, her head muzzy and her strength drained. The smoke was getting thicker and awakened everyone, causing rising screams.

Jing Yue bit the tip of her tongue to keep a clear mind and stood up by holding the edge of the bed. After that, she gritted her teeth and rushed to Shangguan Linglan, shaking her body vigorously to wake her up, but Shangguan Linglan remained unconscious with tight frowns.
