CHAPTER 8

Were Caught, Bad Luck

“Aiyo! Who pushed me ah!?” the man Jing Yue pulled over stumbled. He turned his body over to ask loudly. However, what answered him were only louder shouting sounds. No one discovered the person who rolled quietly under the carriage.

When the carriage arrived at the city gate, all the soldiers were kneeling neatly and shouted: “Welcome Ninth Huang Shu into the city!” Jing Yue’s heart was a bit frightened; she didn’t know why, but a weird feeling started to rise in her heart. Why did she feel that someone was watching her?

Jing Yue wrinkled her brows and held her breath. Her heart kept mouthing ‘quickly enter the city…. quickly enter the city….’

Ninth Huang Shu’s carriage halted for a moment and Jing Yue’s heart suddenly jumped: why is it stopping? Could it be that they’ve found her?

Jing Yue’s palms were slightly soaked with sweats. She didn’t think she could hold onto this carriage any longer. If it wouldn’t quicken a little, she wouldn’t be able to stay…

Perhaps Ninth Huang Shu heard Jing Yue’s thought. Eventually, the carriage started to slowly enter the city. Jing Yue slowly sighed and immediately put her heart down: it’s good, she had entered the city.

Wait!

Sighed?

Jing Yue’s whole body went cold. Without any time to react, she suddenly felt a cold intent to kill came towards her forehead. Jing Yue bended her body and blinked her eyes as she stared at the dagger that almost pierced her forehead. Cold sweats immediately dripped down.

Not good, she was discovered!

“Heng(humph).” an indifferent, disdainful, cold humming sound came through. Jing Yue’s face turned a bit white. She was just planning to let go and rolled out of the carriage, however, she didn’t expect that the person sitting in the carriage would actually used one foot to step upon the base and broke the floor of that carriage. A large hand suddenly grabbed Jing Yue’s neck.

“Ke (Cough)……” the strength of that hand was big; it almost made Jing Yue fainted.

“Where does this little doll come from?” Jing Yue’s body was carried up by the person inside the carriage and at this moment, the carriage finally stopped.

“Ke ke(cough)…… let go…… ke(cough)……” Jing Yue tenaciously tried to break herself out of the hand clutching her neck. She tried hard to open her eyes and look. What met her gaze was actually a pair of familiar eyes, those pair of eyes.

It’s him! The person inside the forest that night!

Jing Yue’s heart trembled violently. Without daring to take a time to look at the man’s appearance, she used all her power and swung her foot towards the man’s chin. The man, having suffered some pain, instantly loosened his hand. Taking advantage of this time, Jing Yue went under the carriage’s floor. Anger flashed upon the man’s face and he agilely tried to take a grab.

“Si la (rip)……” a crisp sound of fabric ripped apart could be heard. The man distractedly threw the torn black fabric on his hand away, his complexion was dreadfully gloomy.

The soldier, who had been guarding outside, stared in a bit of amazement at Ninth Huang Shu who had lifted the carriage’s curtain up and asked: “Ninth Huang Shu, what… what happened?”

“Catch the assassin! Catch the assassin!” just as this person’s question finished, he suddenly heard shouts of fear came from behind the carriage. After a moment of surprise, the soldier had just discovered; Ninth Huang Shu’s chin, how could it be so red and swollen?

“Keep staring, Ben Wang will dig your eyes at once!” the man’s whole body was in an ink-black robe. He slowly stood up and straightened his body; a massive anger flickered inside his ink-like-pitch-black eyes. The kind of finely sculpted facial features of his showed a violent ice-cold temperature. The eyebrows rising toward his temples were tightly wrinkled.

“A girl, fourteen to fifteen years old, wearing black clothes, figure…… petite, catch her!” the clear, cold tone of Ninth Huang Shu came through, bearing his reckless arrogant attitude. All the officer and soldiers that heard Ninth Huang Shu’s words immediately straightened their body and answered a ‘yes’ in resonating voices.
