21 19. Lily

Just as Karol touched the stone on the collar, a blinding red flashed from the stone and after few seconds it died down and the stone turned into the colour of red. "Well, that's it," Paul said with a smile. "Huh? That's it?" Karol asked with a confused face. "Yeah," Paul replied shrugging his shoulder.

"But won't it be easy to enslave people easily," Karol asked pointing towards the girl. "Well yeah but..." "But what?" Paul just smiled and pointed towards the collar and said, "Well because of that collar as it is very expensive to make."

"But it isn't enough," Karol said with suspicion in his eyes. "Well yeah that collar is something special but I can't tell you the details as it is a secret," Paul replied with a smile. "Okay, then I will find it myself someday," Karol said shrugging his shoulder.

"Oh! Also, don't hurt her or give her any life-threatening command." Paul said pointing towards the girls. "Well I was not going to anyway and here take this," Karol said as he gave Paul 12 silvers. "We should be going now," Karol said as he started to walk ahead with the girl following behind him.

After a while, they were back at the entrance of the shop. "Hope to see you again sir," Paul said waving his hand to which Karol just shrugged his shoulder. "Here, wear this," Karol said as he gave the girl a pair of boots. "It's o-okay as I d-don't need a-any." The girl said shaking her head. "Well sure," Karol said shrugging his shoulder and put the boots in his bag.

Just as she takes the first step on the dirt road, she immediately jumped back in the shop. "Need one now," Karol said waving the boots in front of her to which she just nodded her head while looking embarrassed. "Well, I will buy a better fitting one later," Karol mumbled as he looked at large boots in her small feet.

"Follow me," Karol said as they started to walk towards the north side of the town. While walking the girl was looking all around the town with a curiosity glimmering in her eyes while the people of the town were looking at them with strange eyes.

"Well, I should have got her some better clothes," Karol mumbled as he looked at the rags she was wearing. "Well, whatever," Karol said as he ignored the people's strange looks.

After a while, they finally reached home. "W-what is t-that?" The girl asked while pointing towards a large container next to the main door. "Well, that is a water purifier," Karol said shrugging his shoulder while she looked at it with confused eyes. Karol then just sighed as he walked in front of the container and said, "Can you see these two symbols?" To which she just nodded her head.

"When you applied some mana on the left one it will start to fill with water from this pipe which is connected to the lake at north-east side of the town," Karol said pointing at the pipe in the bottom of the container. "And when you apply some mana on the right side one, it will purify the water. Do you understand now?" Karol asked looking at her while she nodded her head with a smile.

Just as he entered the house, his body shivered and he mumbled, "What was that... anyway, you stay here until I call you." To which she just nodded her head. Karol then entered his room first as he throws his weapon and armour on his bed and then immediately entered the other room.

"Oh! You are finally here and did you had fun?" Karen asked with a curious face. "Yeah, and I have already become an adventurer now," Karol said with pride. "That's great," Karen said with a pleasant smile. "Mom, there is something else," Karol said with an anxious face. "Oh! What is it?" Karen asked with a curious face.

"Well it's..." "It's?" "I have bought a slave to help you when no is around." Karol said but his body immediately shivered in fear as Karen eyes narrowed and asked, "Karol, what did I told you about buying slave?" "Uh Oh!" Karol mumbled with a worried face.

"I am sorry." Karol immediately bowed down. "You don't need to do that as I am not angry but don't do it ever again," Karen said with a gentle smile. "Then we can keep her as she will be helpful to you as you are still injured," Karol said with a smile.

"First call her in," Karen said with a calm face. "Yes...You come in." Karol shouted as she entered the room with an anxious face. "Little girl, come here," Karen said with a smile. "You too," Karen said with anger in her eyes. "Shit, she is still angry," Karol mumbled as he walked in front of her.

"Put your hands on that stone and absorb all of its mana and you should let him do it," Karen said with a calm face. "Huh? Why is that?" Karol asked with a curious face. "Are you going to do it or not," Karen said with anger in her eyes. "Yes, yes," Karol replied laughing awkwardly as he put his hand on the stone and started to absorb its mana.

After a few seconds, the stone immediately turned grey colour. "Huh? What was that?" Karol asked with a curious face while the girl also looked at Karen with curiosity in her eyes. "Well! It's to just to reverse the process." Karen said as she removed the collar from the girl's neck.

"Anyway, What your name?" Karen asked as she looked at the girl with a curious face while she just stayed silent. "Well, she has lost all of her memory," Karol said shrugging his shoulder.

"Well, then it's a new start in your life, not as a slave but as Lily, my daughter and Karol's sister." Karen said with a gentle smile as she patted her head while Lily looked at her with a surprised face while Karol looked at her with a shocked face and shouted, "What???"
