Chapter 294 - How is he not a girl?

Name:Be My Strength Author:LuoYeYouLing
On the way back, Callum kept talking about the shenanigans that he used to do when he was younger.

As he drove, he kept glancing at the rearview mirror to take a look at Ghost who was sitting quietly at the passenger seat while he stared out of the window. When he noticed that Ghost barely said anything, he asked worriedly, "Are you afraid of me?"

Without looking at Callum, Ghost asked, "Why would I be afraid of you?"

Despite his lack of expression, he was actually listening to everything that Callum told him. In fact, he was actually feeling a little jealous of the relationship between Callum and DX.

"Because of my background," murmured Callum. When he was younger, some of the children were afraid of him and their parents would tell them to stay away from him.

He never blamed them. After all, their lives could be placed in danger if they walked too close to each other.

"You mean your identity as the Prince of the Underground, heir to the most dangerous mob family in the country? Or the fact that you are an adopted child of Du Jin, the man who was feared by said mob family?" asked Ghost as he glanced at the side view mirror. Ever since they left the restaurant, he noticed that a car had been following closely behind them.

Usually, he would be careful not to get into a car with someone that he cared about. He did not want anyone else to get hurt because of his feud with his stepmother and his half-brother. However, with his mother's gone, he was no longer afraid of anything that Mrs. Luo and Luo Yin might throw on him.

Furthermore, knowing those two as well as he did, they would not dare to touch the guy sitting next to him willy-nilly.

Callum shrugged, "How about both?"

Ghost turned his head to look at him before answering, "Like everyone else, I've known who you are even before we met...It doesn't bother me back then and it doesn't bother me now...I'm just not someone who likes to talk..."

With a bright smile, Callum nodded, "It's ok. I like to talk. Well...I like to talk to you...Where were we? Oh!"

He continued to talk about the days when he was at the orphanage and how those kids were afraid of him. He was always in a bad mood and he would get into fights at the smallest provocation. In fact, there had been one or two occasions where police were called.

Ghost listened and nodded his head every once in a while. Perhaps it was because of his past, he could not help but keep his attention on the car following them.

When they finally arrived at the front of Ghost's mansion, Callum smiled at Ghost as he said, "I'm really happy that you agreed to hang out with me today."

Rolling his eyes at him, Ghost scoffed, "You didn't really give me any choice. It's either going out with you or deal with the consequences of you tattling to my grandfather..."

"Well, you say that now... But I don't recall holding a gun to your head, " said Callum before he winked at his companion.

"Would he ever stop?" thought Ghost as he glared at the man next to him. Annoyed, he reached for the door but Callum quickly locked it before he could open the door.

When the former stared at him, Callum smiled as he said softly, "I hope we can hang out again soon."

"Shenlong Xun..."

"Just call me Callum. Only old people use my Chinese name...Or Du XiAn when he wants to peel off my skin..."

"Callum... I don't like guys, and no matter what you do, I still won't date you. You see, I already have someone that I love very much."

There was a short awkward moment of silence as they stared into each other's eyes. With a loud sigh, Callum shrugged, "It's OK. I didn't say anything about dating. Just hang out with me every now and then..."

His heart was uncomfortable with what Ghost told him but he did not make a fuss about it. After all, they just reconnected and he had the confidence that he would be better than any girl out there.

Narrowing his eyes at Ghost, he asked, "...But I'm curious. What kind of girls do you like?"

Ghost gave it a thought before answering him, "She's a kind and strong person...She'd rather carry the burden by herself than bother anyone about it...and no matter what, she never gives up...Even if it hurts, she'd do her best in everything... Even if she's angry at me, she'd still take care of me when I'm down. She's...the most interesting woman I know..."

Once he was done talking, Callum grinned, "I'm kind..."

He then flexed his biceps before he added, "...and strong. I'd be the most interesting person you know."

Ghost facepalmed himself, "Fine! You don't have a v*gina! I find that to be a very important trait for my lover!"

"I've a b*utthole! It's similar!"

If Ghost was standing up at that moment, he would have fallen back by the sheer impact of the words.

"No, it's not!"

"OK, fine! But it's somewhat similar!" argued Callum. However, with the way his face reddened slightly, it was obvious that he felt embarrassed by his own words. No matter how shameless he was, he was entering into a new territory that he had never entered before.

"I can't believe you just said that! You have had like hundreds of girlfriends before..." groaned Ghost.

Refused to back down, Callum shrugged, "That doesn't mean that I only like girls. It just meant that I haven't found a man I like enough...Like you..."

"You shameless man!" snapped Ghost as his face turned red as well.

Watching Ghost's outburst, Callum laughed, "Why is it shameless? You know... You shouldn't like someone just because of their gender."

He swiftly removed his seatbelts before leaning closer to Ghost. With a deep, low voice, he said,"I was the one who did all the pokings back then...But for you, I'm willing to be poked. I doubt it would be comfortable, but if we take turns..."

"F*ck off!" snapped Ghost as he pushed Callum away.

The man laughed as he leaned back against the chair, "You are easily riled up, do you know that? Maybe you can bring her along the next time we hang out...I'd like to meet the girl who stole your heart...Also, for the entire night, I was the only one speaking most of the time. I'd really like to know more about you...Even if it's not through your mouth, I'd be happy to know more about you through others."

"..."

With that said, Callum unlocked the car. As he put the seatbelt back on, he said, "The choice is yours, of course. I won't force you."

Ghost got down from the car. Before he slammed the door shut, he murmured, "I'll think about it...Hanging out again, that is...I...I won't bring her along."

He then ran back into the mansion while Callum watched. With a wry grin on his face, he thought, "God must be joking with me. How is he not a girl? He's totally acting like one!"
