After buying the medicinal herbs from the herb store, Austin and Christina headed home together.

Because they had already bought the herbs they needed, they couldn’t help but just take a leisurely stroll back since they were done with what they needed to do. 

While walking beside Christina along the way back, Austin realized that it was also the first time he had a chance to carefully inspect the Nolan family’s influence on the environment and atmosphere based on the way the surrounding houses and building were decorated.

The Nolan family had a large influence over the Human Imperial Capital that he was currently residing in and based on how things looked, they were indeed worthy of their number one title.

What he wanted at this point was to return to his room and see if he could refine the bag of herbs he had just gotten into pills.

If he could really refine them into medicinal pills… He would not need to worry about any financial problems in the future.

He heard an extremely melodious voice coming from in front of him.

“Yo, isn’t this our family’s little princess? Why is she free to come over here today?”

There was an intention behind their words. The owner of the voice was definitely not trying to greet them. It sounded akin to ridicule.

Austin and Chris immediately stopped in their tracks as they saw a smiling woman and a young man walk toward them with a group of people behind them.

Noticing the two of them walking toward them, Christina’s expression changed the moment she saw them. She hurriedly pulled Austin and said in a low voice, “Let’s walk faster!”

Austin was a little puzzled. “What’s wrong?”

“The two people coming toward us are my third sister and second brother. I don’t want to deal with them.” As she said that, Christina pulled Austin and quickened her footsteps.

Austin did not say anything. He could not be bothered with these things and immediately followed behind Christina.

However, before the two of them could walk past them, her sister spoke up, “What’s wrong, Christina? You can’t even greet your sister anymore once you see her?” Her sister turned to look at her, the corners of her mouth curved into a smile once again.

Christina stopped in her tracks and held the bag of herbs in her hand. She looked at her sister and said coldly, “I just bought some herbs. I’m in a hurry to go home and prepare them.”

Hearing this, her sister’s lips curled into an imperceptible sneer. She then pretended to sigh and said, “So you’re going home to brew medicine. What a pity. I guess I won’t be able to follow you. After all, I’ve already made an appointment with Brother Enoch to go to the family’s magic pavilion. Otherwise, I might be able to walk around with him.”

The Third Miss deliberately emphasized the words ‘magic pavilion as if mocking Christina for not having any magical talents or qualifications to enter the magic pavilion. 

Even their brother at the side smiled. 

She was blatantly showing off.

They were the Third Miss, Elena, and the Second Young Master, Mycroft.

If Christina remembered correctly, the two of them were those who were kind to her when she was still regarded as a treasure in her father’s eyes.

They surrounded her all day, asking about her well-being and calling her ‘sister’ affectionately.

Now that she was discovered to have no magic talent and was ignored by her father, they treated her like a completely different person. They kept ridiculing her as if they were disgusted and wanted revenge. 

How could she not hear the sarcasm in Elena’s words?

However, Christina still secretly clenched her small hands and looked at Elena coldly. “Sorry, I’m still busy with my herbs so if you’ll excuse me.”

Saying that, Christina took Austin’s hand and walked toward the direction of the house.

Maybe because he was extremely dissatisfied with Christina’s attitude, Mycroft turned his eyes to look at her as she retreated away with some young man. His gaze only lingered on Austin for a second before he stopped paying attention. 

Instead, he looked at Christina and sneered at her once more. “As our big sister, you’re leaving without even saying goodbye to your family even after seeing them on the road. Heh, as expected of some trash without any magic talent. You haven’t even developed any manners in your lifetime.” 

With that, Christina’s footsteps suddenly stopped. Everyone in her family knew the truth that she was unable to practice magic despite being from a mage family.

However, having this brought up in front of so many people in such a ridiculing tone would make even the best-tempered person become angry. 

Christina turned her beautiful eyes to look at him and said coldly, “Mycroft, I’m warning you to not step the line!”

Then, Christina said word by word, “Speaking of etiquette, our family’s younger generation regards me as their elder so you should be calling me ‘elder sister’. But in the past few years, have you ever called me elder sister since that incident happened? Instead, you keep calling me by my first name, Christina. You’re using etiquette to pressure me even though you yourself have forgotten?”

When she mentioned this point, Christina’s gaze swept to Elena who was at the side. “If I remember correctly, it was you who called me elder sister most cordially a few years ago. Hehe, you two are such good brother and sister!”

Christina smiled coldly.

This last sentence also hit a sore spot for Mycroft and Elena.

At this time, Christina, Elena, and Mycroft’s confrontation in the middle of the road had already attracted the attention of most passerby. They stopped in their tracks to watch the scene unfold in front of them.
