1361 Refining Part 2

Name:Badge in Azure Author:Deathstate
The Floating City was moving slowly underwater. Even though the God of Magic Net had already reached level 13 and was able to bring the pinnacle of level 12 powers to bear, the Floating City was still unable to move over 100 kilometers per hour underwater.

If it had not been for the waters of the Oceanic Ice Block being extremely vast, the usual shallow seas would not have been able to allow something like the Floating City being submerged entirely underwater and still move.

While the Floating City was only 36 kilometers square, it nonetheless kicked up intense waves within 1000 kilometers radius while moving underwater.

Saleen's fleet had probed the north side of the Oceanic Ice Block before. No one else had been able to make it back other than the Winged Skull. That only message that returned was enough to make Saleen give up trying to send scouting fleet there.

He simply was unable to afford such losses.

The north side of the Oceanic Ice Block had even greater wealth, yet the magic beasts found there were even more powerful as well.

The most troublesome among them was some kind of wedge-shaped crustacean. Regardless of how high the level of a crustacean would have been, the usual varieties would not have been able to move quickly.

However, that certain crustacean that was less than a meter in length, was able to move quicker underwater than most birds flying in the air.

Worse still, that was the creature's usual speed. When it attacked, the creature was able to move at a frightening 5000 kilometers per hour and above.

There were hardly any sea creatures capable of such speeds of movement. Those type of wedge-shaped beings were of level nine and moved in large groups. A group consisted of at least 1000 of them.

The fact that level nine beings had to move in packs like that was a testament saying that there were beings of even higher levels living north of the Oceanic Ice Block. Those level nine beings were but food for beings of higher levels.

The trip that Saleen had been taking the Floating City on towards the Imperial City of the Abyss that time ended up with them bumping into tens of groups of said wedge-shaped magic beasts.

Those magic beasts intended to get close to the Floating City, but were quickly trapped by Water Shields cast from the Floating City, which were then captured by Saleen.

It was the work carried out by the God of Magic Net personally. Those Water Shields were all level ten spells. The trapped magic beasts intended to pierce the bubbles using the spikes on the sides of their bodies, but the lightning magic patterns on the bubbles gave those level nine magic beasts a hard time instead.

Saleen began to research them in the magic tower after capturing tens of thousands of them. Those wedge-shaped magic beasts had very small magic nuclei and had an innate magical ability of movement. Their wedge-shaped structure had vertical holes all over them, enabling them to burst through water currents.

There were also inherent magic patterns within the holes, enabling them to accelerate.

They were capable of shooting water currents from their rear, enabling them to reach said terrifying speed of 500 kilometers per hour and above. Movements at such speeds coupled with their pointy structure, enabled them to easily punch through just about anything in their way.

The quality of the magic beast's material was very decent as well. Weapons crafted using shells of those level nine magic beasts were sufficient for the most elite of troops, including those high level demons.

However, that was not what Saleen was concerned about. He had high level materials himself. Furthermore, even common steel could have served adequately in war, when they were refined by alchemists. What attracted Saleen's attention was the bodily structure of those magic beasts.

If such designs were to be adopted for making underwater vessels, it would have enabled the ships to travel over 200 kilometers per hour underwater, albeit at a reduced durability due to sheer sizes of such ships.

Since the crew had little to nothing else to do at the moment, Saleen gave the assignments and had the enchanters draft over 100 schematics for Saleen, based on the bodies of those wedge-shaped magic beasts.

Saleen picked three of those designs and modified them a bit, before ordering the alchemy factories to begin crafting those underwater vessels.

Due to the weapon spirit of the Floating City having became a god, it carved out huge spaces inside the city. The space was originally a rough model of a divine kingdom, yet it was unable to made into a true divine kingdom due to having lacked a divine persona.

That space was simply made into warehouses, and the place did not permit living beings to linger for long. That huge space was at present, made for storing materials that Saleen would have used to craft equipment at any given moment.

The schematics were distributed and the alchemy factories began to experimentally craft an entirely new breed of underwater vessels, according to the designs given by Saleen.

Saleen was getting ready to wage war against Grand Duke Iron Blood at any given moment, so it was important that he expand his naval forces. Even if he had no intentions of fighting the grand duke, he still had to fight in the East Sea nonetheless.

The underwater vessels required few crew to man them and packed quite a punch, making them ideal tools for blockading sea routes.

If Grand Duke Iron Blood were to intend to fight for the nations of the East Sea with Saleen, then he would have had to rely on his fleets to transport his forces.

Grand Duke Iron Blood had the schematics of the previous breed of underwater vessels, so it was impossible for Saleen to use his underwater vessels to deal with the grand duke's navy.

Cloudflow people was obsessed with ships, so Grand Duke Iron Blood would have definitely crafted a new breed of underwater vessels himself. Due to having Imposa around, the grand duke's underwater fleet would have been better equipped than Saleen's.

There were countless magic beasts above level 10 trying their luck against the Floating City. Due to the sheer size of the Floating City, it was impossible for it to avoid going into territories of powerful magic beasts, making it necessary to ram straight into those beasts.

Most magic beasts would have chosen to evade the juggernaut. The Floating City was not a living being in the eyes of those magic beasts, but simply a flying mountain underwater. Only few that lacked intelligence yet packing a lot of power would have chosen to challenge the Floating City instead.

The enchanters on the Floating City dished out huge icicles at those enemies. One or two level nine icicles would not have been able to do much damage to those thick-skinned magic beasts, but it was something else altogether if they were to be bombarded with over 10000 of those icicles.

Saleen had brought the Floating City into that region due precisely to being confident of taking on those underwater creatures. That was some feat that not even the Dragon Remains Combat Vessel would have been able to pull.

There were 120 thousand enchanters stationed on the Floating City. Beings of demonic blood inherently possessed powerful mental powers, and under Nailisi's reinforced training, they were able to become powerful enchanters within just a year.

The Floating City barged its way through territories of countless magic beasts with impunity. There was a fissure up ahead and the abyss was somewhere beyond the fissure.

The space in the abyss' territory would have been different altogether, as it would not have been restricted by the rules of Myers Mainland.

Saleen's Floating City continued travel down the fissure underwater, kicking up whirlpools with diameters over 100 kilometers. They disturbed considerable number of magic beasts along the way. Intelligent ones never bothered to trouble the Floating City. That time, a huge tentacle emerged from below the fissure.

If it had not been for Saleen having seen the head of a giant personally, he would have thought that tentacle to be the largest living being in the world instead.

The tentacle moved up from the underwater fissure. It had more protruding lumps than the Winged Skull's meteor hammer. While the tentacle did not seem to be swinging all that quickly, but the huge magic shield at the external fringes of the Floating City had already caved in severely.

If the magic shield were to suffer a whipping from the tentacle, it would have probably ended up broken. The Floating City however, would not have suffered much of any damage.

Saleen shot a lightning icicle right from the inside of the tower.

The lightning icicle hit a weak spot on the tentacle accurately. The energy coursing about the tentacle was all laid bare in Saleen's eyes. Saleen did not even need to calculate which parts would have been stronger and which weaker, as he was able to see all of that right before him.

The lightning icicle burst with powerful electrical shock after embedding itself inside the tentacle. The tentacle was paralyzed right away and dropped down limply. The end of the tentacle hit the magic shield of the Floating City as it went down. The huge shield wobbled tens of times before stabilizing.

The Floating City travelled through the fissure without problems right after that, coming to the inner regions of the abyss.

The master of the tentacle seemed to have been very angry and roared loudly in the water. However, it dared not venture inside the abyss and was only venting out its frustrating outside.

Saleen was in no mood to tangle with that huge tentacle. The rules outside the abyss were unstable. The monster that was lurking under would have probably been a big one that was over level 12. Such huge magic beasts would have packed combat capacity that was entirely different from level 13 magic beasts on land.

At the very least, the magic nucleus of a beast of such huge sizes would have been larger than a carriage, which meant that it would have been able to cast a staggering number of magic spells.

Such huge monsters could have only came from such vast areas undersea. A living being like that would have died from starvation soon on land.

If Saleen were to hunt one such creature, he would have needed to be very well prepared at least.

It would have been easier to take on that huge monster when the Floating City's God of Magic Net had merged the magic cube into it.

The Floating City slowly landed outside the walls of the Imperial City of the Abyss. The northern walls were still considered intact, but the occupants within the Floating City were still unable to peer inside the city wall.

The city walls were not at a height of 900 meters, as it would have been usually, but there were dazzling light shimmering above the walls. Saleen took a look at it with his Elemental Eye, and was still unable to see through the light.

Saleen did not bother to look any further. The Imperial City of the Abyss would not be going anywhere, and he could have returned any time.

That huge tentacle went about provoking for half a day and still the Floating City showed no signs of returning, so it had no choice but to resume its slumber. The God of Magic Net had began to undo its seals and return its powers back to the pinnacle of level 13, before it began to merge with the magic cube again.

The Floating City's materials were of similar levels with that of the magic cube—the best that could have been acquired in that plane. The God of Magic Net had absorbed the newborn weapon spirit, but due to its powers being constantly suppressed at level 12, merging within the magic cube had been difficult.

With its powers then being completely unleashed, it was only a matter of time before the magic cube was completely assimilated.

Saleen put his attention to the matter aside and began to craft the last item in his list of equipment to craft, within the magic tower.

The Floating City's weapon spirit had been separated into three parts and he had not put the last part of it to use, which was still sealed with the broken jade. Saleen then simply threw the jade fragment into his own magic amplifier.

He then took out huge amount of bone crystal of the giant and added golden granules, which he acquired by purifying abominations, to it, crafting a great sword.

That golden dagger was merged into that new weapon as well.

Golden granules were constantly being melted by the Water Flame, which Saleen sent into the black ring that was his magic amplifier, wrapping around the jade fragment. The golden dagger was also wrapped within the golden liquid and grew in size.

The great power of the magic amplifier could have only been suppressed for a certain amount of time. When it became apparent that there were too many things being thrown inside the black ring, a golden great sword flew out from it.

Saleen conjured a tiny Wind Blade at the tip of his tongue and drew some blood, which he spit onto the sword. After being splashed by Saleen's blood, the weapon spirit fragment sealed within the broken jade was assailed by countless thoughts and will, submitting right away.

Saleen then used thundering sound skills and almost broken the weapon spirit into pieces.

After the weapon spirit submitted, more golden liquid merged within the new sword that Saleen forged. The sword's size grew to over 100 meters. If Saleen's Water Flame had not been boosted by the magic amplifier, he would have lost control of the sword's refinement process.

The sword then gradually contracted within the Water Flame, eventually stopping at the size of about 10 meters. If it not been for the weapon spirit regulating things within, the weight of the weapon would have been unimaginable.
