329 Threatened

CHAPTER 329

"Then how did he relieve you?" Nerissa found herself becoming more curious by the minute.

"He did not do the deed. I guess he just made… Wait a minute, since when did that become the teaching f the day?"

"Why you naughty…"

"Aunt's mind is what is naughty. He did not do anything wrong. Just let it be. Besides, I brought it on myself when I wanted to cast the spell on the elf princess to prevent her from chasing after us again."

"But things went out of hand."

"Yes. SO now please let us get back to training."

"Very well. We would do some basics and also I would teach you something else you would love."

"What is it?"

"The invincibility spell. It was how I passed through that small village on my way here." Nerissa said as a matter of fact.

She felt proud that she entered the village and took some supplies without being caught then exited and also continued on her journey without being caught.

"That could come I handy."

"Yes, if only you could do that, then you would not have suffered in that village."

"Well, lesson learned."

Jareth smiled to himself, she had really changed a lot and he loved every single bit of it except when she was being stubborn and disobeying him.

Later he left them to their training and decided to take a walk to clear his head while he had time.

Astrid spent half of that day learning different spells and practising them till she got a hang of them.

Most of them she caught on to quick and could even recite their spells by heart.

Jareth took that spare time he had to horn his skills with Snow being his only audience while he trained.

It was not until evening that Nerissa gave Astrid a break and allowed her to go do whatever it was that she needed to do as the next day, they would continue on their journey.

Snow who had long been missing his master was more than glad to see her silhouette coming from a distance and ran up to meet her.

Thud!

Not caring about anything, Snow rushed at Astrid's coming figure and jumped into her arms, making Astrid lose her footing and causing them to fall backwards with him still in her arms.

"Hahha ahhaha…" She was giggling so hard with Snow licking every inch of her face as a way of him showing his love for her and how much he missed her.

Astrid, in turn, reciprocated when she got some breaks from his licking and rubbed his furs nicely the way he wanted it.

Jareth who was making a campfire saw the two busy displaying their love for each other and turned his head away.

Unknown to him Astrid caught sight of it from the corners of her eyes even though she was being distracted by Snow.

'Is he jelly right now?' Astrid thought.

"I meant jealous, Snow. I think Jareth is jealous." Astrid stated to the little beast and turned her head in Jareth's direction.

"Hehehe, Snow would be glad if he is."

"Why?"

"He stole master away yesterday and still won. Master would have just remained with Snow instead of being with him. He could not let master win."

"He did let me win."

"Three-time. Pff, what would it take from him to let you win six times."

"Hey, are you saying your master cannot win on her own?"

"You said so yourself, he let you win. Why did you not blast him off and knock him out? That way you win ten to nothing because he would have long been asleep."

Astrid shook her head at his absurd words. "You are lucky he cannot hear you, otherwise, he would cease to pet you and if you don't stop nagging master, I would report you."

"Killjoy, is that what I get for being a good boy and missing master all day? You do not treat me well, master. I would cry and tell mother and return to the forest peak."

Was this little guy threatening her?

Whoa!

Astrid blinked severally at it before getting her lost voice. "Really?"

"Yes. Since master does not love me, I would go back to my mother and she would love me."

"Okay." Before Snow knew what was happening, Astrid sat up with him in her arms and loosened her grip around him, then set him down on the ground and she stood up. "Okay go."

"What?"

"You heard me, little one, get going. Go back to the forest peak and compete for your mother's love with your siblings. No that is even far fetched, go back through the lonely roads filled with various dangerous beasts all alone."

Snow shuddered at her words but Astrid was not yet done.

"You want to go? Then go, go back and let Clive's men catch you. I do not need to remind you about the kind of torture that would be waiting for you in that village and how those kids would make you laugh till you pass out again and again."

Snow was not liking her words as they brought untold dread back to his mind.

"Go my dear, Snow and journey past all the dreads and venture into the valley of lost souls to be preyed on by those ghosts for all eternity, except of course you know the way and I doubt you do."

"I can take the long route, hmm."

"Okay, let's say you do. You would be at it alone and once you get to the forest, I do not need to remind you again about the dangers that lurked within."

"I would take the tunnel great grandfather told you about."

"Great and you are forgetting the kind of giant beast we killed there? Even if you manage to scale through all these things, by the time you get back to the forest peak, you would look worn out and weak to even be touchable. In the end, you still won't have enough furs to be patted on."

"Master!"
