257 Beautiful But Dangerous

Cullen made to shut the door but Owen stopped him by wedging the door with his foot. He was not in the mood to hear Owen talk dirty.

"Hahaha wait. Okay, I give you twenty. You better be done and shower before coming."

Not bothering to answer the annoying prince, he shut the door and locked it. As he went towards his bed-chamber, he could still hear Owen's laughter reverberate in the passageways.

'Naughty prince.'

By the time he got to his room, he met Navi covered by the blankets and gave her an apologetic smile.

"I heard, that was his highness."

"Yes."

"I understand."

"I am sorry, my jewel."

By the time Gerald got to Lady Lorelei's room, Erwina was already gone but he did meet her on his way and wondered where it was she was coming from.

Kpar! Kpar!

"Come in," Lorelei's calm but authoritative voice called out and Gerald pushed the door open. "To what do I owe this pleasure, Gerald?"

"Lady Lorelei," he lowered his head a bit in a greeting manner and smiled at her. "King Bayard wants you."

"Does he now?"

"Lorelei!"

"I would be there in a minute. You may leave first, Gerald."

"Okay. I would let him know. See you later." As quickly as he came, that was how he left with no much word of exchange to her other than what was necessary.

'Bayard, are you sensing the danger coming or you are just too worried about the hybrid? I think you should worry about the downfall your kingdom is about to face than a hybrid on the run.'

Lady Lorelei did not know why she was feeling a bit sad for Bayard but then again, she shouldn't as the man brought it upon himself.

It was his doing that put him in a situation such as this. If he had tamed his libido and not just follow the direction of his erection than he wouldn't have been stuck with a conniving concubine.

Good thing he still had the sense not to make her the queen or he would have been dead by now.

Slowly, she stood up from her seat and with one final look around, she flicked her wrist and the lights went off.

"Hmm, that should do. Now, time to answer that worried King."

~ELVEN KINGDOM – PALACE~

As predicted by King Regin and his wife, Avery indeed had tried to escape and run off but each of her attempts was intercepted and she was brought back to her room.

"Let me go, let me go!" Avery struggled with the palace guards that escorted her back to her rooms.

The door opened and she was taken inside and released. Before she could turn her back and chase after them, the door slammed shut.

PHEW!

There goes her tenth escape attempt since her brother and the troops left.

"Let me out!" She rushed up to the door and banged her fist continuously on it.

BANG! BANG!

"Avery!"

Slowly, she turned around towards the direction the voice came from.

Far into her bed-chamber, a lady sat down on a chair close to the windows, covered with long curtains, shielding the owner of the voice away from the world and the voice right from of it.

With a shaky voice, Avery found her voice once more. "Mother," she called out.

One could felt he fear coming from the look she got from her mother.

"You never learn, do you?" Aelinor asked her daughter.

"Oh, mother! You know it is so hard to keep my butt in one place. Please, mother."

"Avery. Your father and I agreed. You did also. Why are you being so stubborn? Let your brothers face it off on their own. They are grown men now."

"I know, mother. But I cannot shake away this gut feeling telling me something bad will happen," Avery complained.

"Something bad will happen if you go. But they would have a clearer mind if you are home and out of danger."

"I am a warrior princess mother, danger is what I live for," she said refuting her mother's words.

"Shut up, young lady. Better think of who you want to spend your life with and give me grandchildren, then you can live for danger."

"Mother!"

"That is the last I would hear of this. The next time you so much as try to escape… Linah! Lita!" Although her voice was calm and gentle, the authority it carried was no less than that of a queen.

Before Avery knew it, two young girls about her age group, but slightly older came out from her bed chambers.

Avery's eyes widened from the shock. She could not believe what her mother was about doing.

Both ladies were dressed in a lemon green outfit of a tight fitted top and leggings with a fled, side cut skirt design that reached then to their knees.

Both had weapons tapped at different sides of their body and they had an air of fierceness around them.

One simple look at them and one would know they were not just dangerous in looks but in fighting skills.

They were the queen's personal bodyguard trainers. Their blonde hair fell loosely ina wavy bunch at their back, bringing out their peerless beauty.

"Beautiful but dangerous," Avery muttered under her breath as she stared at them.

Aelinor's lips curved up into a knowing smile as she looked at her daughter. She heard what she had muttered and that only amplified her confidence in the ladies.

"Beauty and Danger. A fine combination, don't you think?"

She got up from her seat and elegantly cat walked over to where her surprised daughter was.

"Be a good princess and they wouldn't have to go the extra mile with you," Aelinor said and in a blink of an eye, her smile vanished. "Be a bad girl and… I am afraid you know the end."
