211 Jealous Snow

CHAPTER 211

Soon, Marin and the others arrived at the spot where Coralia and Naida was were and scanned the entire vicinity with their eyes.

"They are nowhere to be found." Doris voiced out her thought. "Are you sure you saw them here?" she asked again, making sure they were in the right place.

"Yes, very sure. The elf stood right close to that protruded small stone on the ground," Naida informed them, pointing her hands at where Jareth stood.

Marin closed her eyes as if trying to sense something, ignoring their murmuring. After some minutes, she opened her eyes and said, "Someone or something is coming."

All of them turned their heads to face her at her declaration. A few of them, the older ones, such as Doris, closed their eyes too to sense the presence the princess felt.

A minute later, they opened their eyes and all turned in the direction where Marin's gaze was.

Just then, the little white tiger phoenix beast came running out of the cave from the entrance at the front. Since they were at its side, they could still get a good view from where they swam.

"That is her best companion. Where is she then?" one of the mermaids commented.

"Shh, Delia. He may hear you."

"I am sorry, Doris," she gave Doris an apologetic look and then clammed her lips shut.

Doris and the others returned their gazes to the scene at hand. Immediately Snow came out, he looking around and sniffing as he went.

Before long, he was already moving towards the side of the cave where they were at. All the mermaids froze and quickly dipped themselves back in the water. All except Marin.

She stayed watching his every move with her narrowed eyes. The others wanted to say something but decided against it and watched from below.

'Damn that beast. He is about to find us.' Naida thought.

'We should leave now before he sniffs us out, but why is Princess Marin not moving or doing anything to mask us?' Doris thought.

Immediately the thought entered her head, they all heard a sweet sonorous feminine voice.

"Snow! Snow!"

The little white tiger phoenix beast immediately raised his head from where it was sniffing and looked in her direction.

"Master! You are back!"

Although none of them could see Astrid yet, but from her voice, they knew she had returned from whatever or wherever it was she went to.

Snow wasted no time and sprinted in her direction, running away happily and forgetting what he was looking for.

No matter how he tried to hide it, he simply loved her so much and had grown attached to her.

In no time, Astrid came into view, running as fast as she could. The moment she caught sight of her little beast, she knelt and spread her arms wide open for it to rush into.

Its behaviour was funny to her because it had not been an hour since she left and her little beast missed her so much.

Just now when they were coming, she felt his yearning and his want to see her, that was why she called out his name.

Who would have thought that upon seeing her, Snow would behave that way? Somehow through the bond, she felt his yearning and had, in turn, yearned for it as well.

"You missed me so much, huh? I thought it was Jareth you want the most?" Astrid joking asked the little beast.

"Master, you miss interpret my words. In as much as I love being pet by your lover, I love and miss you more. I do not want him getting too close to you, master's love belongs to me. So in turn he can pet me and shower his kisses on me and not you."

Astrid blinked at it before staring wide-eyed at her beast. "Are you jealous of Jareth?"

"Why would I be? I have a deeper bond with you than he does. He is the one who is jealous of me."

"Pfff, if only he could hear you right now."

"Do not tell on me, master. Or he would not rub my fur anymore. Speaking of which, where is he?" Snow asked once more through their mind link.

"True, he should be right behind me. I ran ahead when I felt you looking for me."

"Master, how could you have left him behind? What if he chooses to run away again because of the way you treated him?"

"I do not understand you. I thought you didn't want him to be close to me?"

"That is different master."

Astrid was dumbfounded staring at her little beast and thinking of how weird and unreasonable his words could be, that she did not realize when Jareth came.

"I see things haven't changed. You left him for me."

Snow pulled away from her arms and rushed in Jareth's direction, wagging his tail happily and waiting for Jareth to pick him up and he did just that.

"Hey, Snow."

"Master, remember, do not say anything," Snow reminded her and closed his eyes softly, enjoying the feel of his fur being rubbed by Jareth.

Astrid shook her head at it and then returned her gaze back to the object of discussion."I didn't. Technically I left him to get you. It is just practical that I run to meet my baby."

"I see. I haven't made you miss me much then. I would be more than happy to." Jareth said, the corners of his eyes cringing displaying his mischievous smile.

"You wish!" Snow said, but only Astrid could hear him and she burst into another round of laughter.

As they chatted on, Princess Marin and the other mermaids watched on. Coralia raised her head from underneath the water and moved closer to the Marin's side.

"He is back. They never separated, your highness."

"Yes. We were played. It is either they knew they were being watched and acted accordingly or something happened that made them stick together." Marin replied her, her gaze still fixed on the team of three in front, her eyes squinting further as she watched Jareth's every move.

"What do we do?" Doris asked, moving out of the water, her eyes now fixed on Marin. " Should we attack?"
