Chapter 17 - "There's no way!!"

"I understand you want to know what Louis meant by what he said, but it's...hard to explain."

"What!? How is it difficult to explain?!"

Louis felt like he was the cause of what happened, then Reiki confirmed it. (It seems like Ares is unsettled because of me, but what could have set him off? I only talked about Mystic's betrothal. Why would he be angry about that? )

"I know you still think we're 300 years in the past, but things happen, and people change."

"What do you mean do *Things happen*. SHE IS GETTING MARRIED TO ZEUS, THE GOD OF SKY!!"

Reiki kept his composure and responded. "Ares, once again, please calm down, let me explain. When you got exiled, Mystic seemed very lonely for a while, and Zeus was there to comfort, so they eventually became a couple, and now they're getting married."

"That's it."

"That's it," Reiki started with a straight face.

Processing all of this made Ares want to lay down.

His room was decently sized, and the bed was in the corner of the room. As Ares laid down, he felt sadness welling up in his face.

"Could you two leave, please?"

"Uhh, alright, Ares, we'll see you tomorrow at the debriefing. Let's go, Louis."

"Oh, yeah, let's go."

Louis felt bad. Ares was sad because of something he did, and now they were getting kicked out.

( Even if it has been 300 years, how could she break the promise we made? ) Ares thought as he started reminiscing about the past.

Outside of the room, Louis was thinking about what just happened with Ares.

"Reiki, could you tell me why Ares was acting like that back there? I don't understand what I did."

Reiki's face showed confliction, but in the end, he gave in and told Louis.

"I don't blame you for not knowing. It was 300 years ago when it happened."

"When what happened?" Louis said.

"When Ares and Mystic used to be a couple."

"..."

"...''

Louis took a minute to process what Reiki said.

"What!! Ares and Mystic used to date!"

"Louis, please calm down, but yes, they did indeed date long ago."

Louis was flabbergasted. ( There's no way that guy dated Mystic. That doesn't even make sense! )

After hearing that, Louis finally understood why Ares was considerably upset.

"Makes sense why he was like that, but even still, you said it's at least been 300 years since that happened, right? How could he think she would still be in love after all this time."

"I'm not sure either. I was very young when they were dating, so the only people who would know are Mystic and Ares. Anyway, it doesn't concern us, and we need to get going."

"Yeah, you're right. let's go."

As they were leaving, Ares dozed off. He had a long 48 hours, and as soon as he got on the bed, he felt the fatigue set in."

He was dreaming about something he often does, the past.

Move specifically, he was dreaming about memories with him and Mystic.
