Chapter 14 - Destroyed

Ares was uncertain if he should trust The Ruler, but there was no other option. ( Even if I did have all my power, it would still be tricky for me to get out of here without some difficulty. )

"Well, let me proceed with what I was saying..."

There was currently a commotion within the 10 commandments. Nobody was listening to them.

Everyone was In a trance-like state, almost seeming lifeless.

( Everyone is probably behaving like this because of the cloud, but how do I stop that. )

As the Ruler contemplated what to do, he saw Aki leave with someone in his arms. ( Where is he going?! GRHH, I don't have time. I need to get rid of this quickly! )

"Regal! Come here!"

The Ruler called Regal over, she is one of the 10 commandments, and she is among the most powerful and well respected.

"Regal, do you know where Aki went?"

" Sir, I don't know where he went, but I saw the direction he went in. Do you want me to go get him?"

"No, you don't have to. I need you to go to the library and get me as many books about the Key Of Insanity as you can."

Regal looked back at The Ruler, confused. "Sir, what do you mean?"

"There's no time to explain! Just do it now!"

Regal heard how urgent The Ruler was, so she was more inclined to get to the library quicker.

As The Ruler started thinking about his next move, he heard a roaring blast.

Confused, The Ruler turned his head to see what made that noise and was surprised once again.

He saw that the dark cloud disappeared and was replaced by fire and thick, black smoke.

By this time, Aki had already come back and didn't know what was happening.

He ran up to The Ruler, wanting to get some insight into what happened. But before he could say anything, The Ruler wanted to ask Aki something first.

"Where have you been?!"

Aki didn't know how to respond, so he changed the subject. " That's not important right now. Shouldn't you be worried about what just happened?"

Then the Ruler completely stopped talking about it. Almost as if he forgot about it.

Afterward, Aki saw The Ruler run to check on all the citizens.

As Aki observed The Ruler, he Started Laughing. ( And they said he was the strongest in the land, What a joke. )

Regal had already come back, but without the books, because she wanted to see if The Ruler was alright, and that's when she saw Aki Laughing but didn't know what he was laughing at. ( He's always been pretty strange. )

Regal disregarded Aki and walked over to The Ruler, and what she saw shocked her. Everyone was passed out on the ground.

Regal started to become worried, wondering if they were alive or not.

She proceeded to check everyone's pulse, and thankful, when she did, she found out nobody was dead.

"After we found out everyone was ok, we gave them the best healing potions available. Afterward, I went back to the front of the Palace, and that's when I found the piece I just gave you."

Ares stood in silence for a moment, processing everything The Ruler told him.

" You still haven't answered my question."

The Ruler looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"

"Where are the other pieces of The Key?"

"..."

"..."

"Well, Ares, I don't know what to tell you."
