They succeeded!

Gu Qingshan and Leng Tianxing immediately felt relief in their hearts.

Leng Tianxing was holding the eyeball, and his cold and unfeeling expression started to change dramatically.

He was only holding onto that eyeball, but Leng Tianxing’s hand was soon covered with a gooey liquid that smelled awful.

He threw the eyeball over at Gu Qingshan at lightning speed, then pulled a handkerchief out. He used a technique to draw water out of the air and used that water to scrub his hands hard.

It was too smelly. Leng Tianxing really couldn’t tolerate it.

He had come from a noble family and was treated like the treasure of his family. He had only used the best things, ate the best things, and had even entered a top sect. He was extremely privileged and had never touched anything so filthy in his entire life.

Leng Tianxing was more willing to dash into the crowd of demons and attempt to kill them than to ever touch that thing again.

“Good job!”

Gu Qingshan complimented him as he caught the Carrion Devouring Demon’s eyeball. It only took a few slices of his sword to turn the eyeball into mush.

He took this mushed up eyeball and started rubbing it all over himself. Soon enough, the Vanguard Battalion armor gave off an unbelievable stench.

Leng Tianxing was clearly disgusted by it. He asked, “Don’t you know how smelly this thing is?”

Gu Qingshan continued to rub the mushed up eyeball on himself seriously as he replied, “The secretion gland of the Carrion Devouring Demon is in the eyeball.”

“If you put this stuff on yourself, the demons will think you’re a Carrion Devouring Demon just by the smell alone.”

“Our Spirit Power is limited, so if we don’t try a different trick, we’re definitely going to die when faced with such powerful demons.”

He placed some of the mushed up eyeball on his hand and held it out at Leng Tianxing. “You don’t have to open the way in front, but covering the back is dangerous too. I suggest that you put some on yourself as well.”

Leng Tianxing took a few steps backward without hesitation. He frowned and replied, “I don’t need this.”

Gu Qingshan said very seriously, “If you don’t, then you’re definitely going to die if the demons surround you.”

Leng Tianxing looked at the mushed up eyeball again, then shook his head vigorously. He said, “If I have to put this on myself, I might as well die.”

Gu Qingshan figured that people from major sects were just different after all. He shrugged and took his hand back.

After several moments, the two of them were ready to go.

Gu Qingshan said, “Time to go.”

“All right.” Leng Tianxing stood up to show that he was also ready.

Gu Qingshan took a deep breath and focused on the War God Operating Interface.

“1 point of Soul Power consumed to learn Martial Arts technique: Mountainous Impact.”

“Remaining Soul Power: 0/7.”

A warm flow rushed from the pauldrons into Gu Qingshan’s body, then finally gathered in his subconscious.

Gu Qingshan pointed in one direction and said, “We’ll break through from this side.”

When Leng Tianxing saw which direction he was pointing in, he was surprised and replied, “If we go from this direction, we’ll have to make a detour.”

Gu Qingshan replied, “I’ve taken a look already. This direction doesn’t have too many powerful demons.”

Leng Tianxing suddenly looked at him and said, “You know demons very well.”

Gu Qingshan patted his shoulder and said, “That’s right. I’m a soldier from the Vanguard Battalion.”

Before Leng Tianxing could ask any more, Gu Qingshan let out a loud shout, “I’m off!!”

The Qi and blood in his body started flowing at high speed, and he suddenly dashed out of the formation.

Mountainous Impact!

Just like Wu Jin, Gu Qingshan dashed out as bravely and as quickly.

The difference was that he had less Spirit Power compared to Wu Jin, so he wasn’t as imposing when he dashed out.

But the number of demons that were sent crashing and flying out by Gu Qingshan’s mad dash was much more than Wu Jin.

These two were at a completely different level.

Gu Qingshan continued to dash forward to attack with his pauldrons facing forward and sent a Scarlet Gold Ghost flying out hard.

The Scarlet Gold Ghost was about to screech while it went flying when the cold glint of a sword suddenly lopped its head right off.

Gu Qingshan held the sword in his hands and continued to run at high speed as the demon’s blood rained on him.

His sword was like the wind, and his body moved like a ghost. Gu Qingshan continued to cruelly and heartlessly kill off all the demons in front of him.

Leng Tianxing gasped when he saw this.

“What sort of Wind Slash is this? Why is it so powerful?!”

Leng Tianxing had seen many sword cultivators use Wind Slash, but he was very sure that he had never seen anyone able to use this technique to this extent.

“Catch up!”

Gu Qingshan used his sword to strike three times and shouted a reminder to Leng Tianxing as he sent a giant elephant-looking demon flying.

Leng Tianxing snapped out of his daze and quickly ran to catch up with Gu Qingshan.

The whole way was smooth sailing.

After several moments, the effect of Mountainous Impact slowed down. Gu Qingshan shifted himself and quickly regained his balance.

The glow of his sword flickered in quick succession.

His movements were natural and well-practiced and were as seamless as passing clouds and flowing water. Every time he attacked, he was also prepared to defend in various ways. He wasn’t afraid of any ambushes or attacks.

If you looked carefully, there was actually a unique sense of rhythm to it.

Gu Qingshan was amazed by this himself.

All the experience and memories of fighting his way through the mountains of corpses and blood and all the times he had taken down the leaders of thousands of enemy troops were finally awakened after he had transmigrated for so long.

Now he could finally say that he had really been reborn.

Space-time Turbulence was certainly more frightening and abstract compared to just Void-space Turbulence, but back then, he hadn’t understood why the system had been so afraid and sealed off all the sword techniques he had known and practiced along with other memories.

The only difference between him right now and his previous life was that his cultivation level was too low, and some of his sword techniques had not been awakened yet.

But he couldn’t even think about those powerful sword techniques at his current level. If he did, then the will of the sword alone would wipe out Gu Qingshan’s soul.

So this was also one way that the War God system was protecting him.

Gu Qingshan continued to weave in and out between the demons, and all the demons held their noses and moved away from him.

Demons were born with a sense of smell that was ten times more sensitive than humans.

So what they sensed was that this thing coming their way was a young Carrion Devouring Demon.

If they killed it, then the juices would spray on them, and the stench would take years to go away.

If they ate this demon, then they might have diarrhea for an entire month.

The demons wanted to be in neither the former nor the latter situation.

Gu Qingshan took this opportunity to suddenly appear in the midst of the demons like a spirit of sorts, slashing away at them with the long sword in his hand soundlessly.

The Cavalry Regiment sword in his hand was like a fierce and invincible demon that had just been awakened. It was cruel, bloodthirsty, and treacherous as it continued to take the demons’ lives without feeling tired.

As they faced the threat of death, some of the Foundation Building stage demons started to react to the attack and were about to make their move as their bodies shook.

When Gu Qingshan saw this, his eyes became even more alert.

“Gale Slash!”

The long sword became like the wind as it grew swift and powerful.

It was the quick-killing version of Wind Slash!

Gu Qingshan’s actions were very clean and precise, and none of his moves were unnecessary. Each wave of the sword definitely chopped off the demons’ necks, arms, waists, or legs.

After a short moment, all the demons around where he stood could no longer move.

After advancing another several meters this way, Gu Qingshan slowed down his sword attacks, and the demons exploded into loud howls.

But those demons that were far off didn’t respond at all. They weren’t attracted to the howls of their fellow demons.

It was normal for demons to fight amongst themselves too, so they were already very used to it.

They didn’t smell any human blood or breath. They could only smell a strong and rotten stench, so it was clear that a Carrion Devouring Demon had appeared.

Nobody was going to incur the wrath of that disgusting thing for no reason.

The demons had standards too. They all turned away.

It seemed like the attack had lasted a long time, but only about ten breaths had passed since Gu Qingshan and Leng Tianxing started breaking through this sea of demons.

The two of them had miraculously managed to advance a few hundred meters to their destination, and everything was going so well that Leng Tianxing thought he was dreaming.

Just when they were going to reach their destination, a strange demon suddenly appeared in front of them.

This demon was covered with fiery flames and exuded great amounts of demonic air. Even the ground it stood on was burnt bright red.

“A Fiery Flame Ghost!” Leng Tianxing exclaimed.

But Leng Tianxing had no way to get away from nor to handle the Fiery Flame Ghost in front.

He didn’t have that disgusting stench on himself, so the demons behind him continued to keep up with him, and he didn’t know how to handle them.

Thankfully Gu Qingshan moved ahead quickly enough, so the demons weren’t able to surround them and attack. That was the only reason why he hadn’t been completely surrounded by demons.

“I saw it; come with me,” said Gu Qingshan.

“You…” Leng Tianxing didn’t know what to say.

The Fiery Flame Ghost was a fire type of demon. Its body was made from black flames and wasn’t affected by anything that hit it, so it was very hard to use the law of physics to attack and kill it.

Fiery Flame Ghosts depended entirely on using techniques to attack. Once it started attacking, it was difficult to shake it off.

One Fiery Flame Ghost could fight two Foundation Building cultivators at the same time and still win.

Leng Tianxing didn’t have any confidence in dealing with this creature, much less Gu Qingshan, who was only at Qi Refining stage.

Gu Qingshan threw the long sword into the air and ran a few steps forward.

The Cavalry Regiment sword spun in the air for a while, then disappeared. Gu Qingshan had used Wind Slash to hide it somewhere in the air again.

The Fiery Flame Ghost smiled threateningly as it watched the two men run toward it. When they were about twenty or thirty meters off, it opened its mouth to spew fire.

“We’re too far off! I can’t attack it!”

Leng Tianxing immediately saw that they were doomed.

The Fiery Flame Ghost’s Spirit Power of Fire had already reached the Molten Lava stage, so the two of them were unable to endure such an attack, and the only option now was to dodge it by jumping to the side.

But once they did that, then all the distance they had covered earlier would be gone. It would become even harder if they wanted to advance again.

That was as good as dying.

Leng Tianxing’s heart sank.

He had to fight the demons coming from behind him, and he didn’t have a free hand to stop the Fiery Flame Ghost’s attack.

Was he going to die right here?

But suddenly, a bow appeared in Gu Qingshan’s hand. He had barely moved when a beam of light shot out from the bow.

“Bombardment!”

“Sharpshooter!”

“Gallop in Wind!”

With the addition of Bombardment and Gallop in Wind, the arrows were both fast enough and were capable of high damage.

A cold gleam shot past.

DANG!

The arrow went straight for the Fiery Flame Ghost’s forehead, and it looked up from being hit so hard in the forehead.

Fiery Flame Ghosts were very large and powerful demons, so there was no way it would die from the amount of Spirit Power Gu Qingshan had as a Qi Refining cultivator.

But Gu Qingshan had already achieved his aim.

After it had been hit by the arrow, the Fiery Flame Ghost couldn’t help but look upward. So all the terrifying flames that it had prepared to spurt out at the two men now shot upward into the sky.

“You can do that too?” Leng Tianxing murmured to himself in a daze.

He had barely accepted the fact that Gu Qingshan was both a sword cultivator and a Martial Arts cultivator. Now Gu Qingshan had suddenly also materialized a bow, and it only took him one arrow to get them out of this sticky situation.

Leng Tianxing was a favored disciple of a major sect and was very knowledgeable. Once Gu Qingshan moved his bow, Leng Tianxing could identify the three techniques used: Gallop in Wind, Sharpshooter, and Bombardment.

These were archery techniques of someone at General rank!

Leng Tianxing felt like he was going mad.

Who was this guy? Was he born a Saint?

How else could he have managed to attain this level of Formations, Martial Arts, sword techniques, and archery techniques all at the same time?

Leng Tianxing’s heart started pounding.

In reality, Gu Qingshan was now fighting demons as a Great Sword Immortal whose cultivation level had been purposely lowered to Qi Refining stage.

Given the experience he had, he could find the best way to deal with the enemy without even thinking.

Gu Qingshan didn’t say anything. He took the opportunity to run up to the Fiery Flame Ghost before it could regain its composure and use his heavy pauldrons to crash into it with all his might.

Mountainous Impact!

The Fiery Flame Ghost went flying from the impact and fell into the group of demons thirty or forty meters away.

The demons were shocked by this, then angrily started attacking the Fiery Flame Ghost, and they started fighting among themselves.

The Fiery Flame Ghost could barely get up, and it was furious and wanted to make an attack, but it had landed in the midst of other demons fighting it, so it couldn’t get away.

“All right, let’s go!” said Gu Qingshan in a low voice.

Leng Tianxing felt a little numb already.

Gu Qingshan checked his Spirit Power. His Spirit Power had increased tremendously after hitting Qi Refining Level 7. The attack earlier had made his remaining Spirit Power drop from 90% to 50%.

But he still had some left!

Gu Qingshan kept the bow away and used his hand to grip something in mid-air.

The Cavalry Regiment sword appeared and was held in his hand.

He stopped and took a few moments to catch his breath.

The demons around him saw that he had a long sword in hand. They all stopped and hesitated.

They were all growling and snarling as they looked at each other, waiting for another demon to attack first.

Then, a very strange thing happened.

After some time, the group of demons slowly retreated, and none of the demons tried to attack first.

Gu Qingshan stood his ground and held his sword. He scanned the hordes of demons and said one line softly.

Leng Tianxing thought he had heard Gu Qingshan wrongly.

Because Gu Qingshan had said, “They’re just demons.”
