The leader of the group of law enforcers pointed toward Wu Peng from far away, “Bring him over!”

Immediately, two law enforcers charged toward Wu Peng.

They arrived behind Wu Peng and one of the law enforcers kicked him in his thigh.

Wu Peng instantly knelt on the ground. The other law enforcer took out a strand of silver thread and tied Wu Peng’s arms behind his back.

The thread was made out of durable material. The more the person being tied struggled, the tighter the thread would coil around them before it eventually sliced the human body apart.

The two law enforcers escorted Wu Peng over to the satellite receiver.

The leader of the group observed Wu Peng from head to toe, and waved toward the other law enforcers.

The rest of the group worked together with each other well. They continued to load the corpses onto a six-wheeled armored vehicle.

After the corpses were loaded onto the vehicle, Wu Peng was also stuffed into the car.

After they entered the car, one of the law enforcers took out a black burlap sack and put it over Wu Peng’s head before he gave Wu Peng’s stomach a fierce kick.

Wu Peng fought back the urge to curse at the person. This was the first time he was being taken advantage of since he came to this post-apocalyptic world.

The vehicle started up, and the carriage was extremely silent along the way. Wu Peng could not see what was happening outside.

All he knew was that the path had been extremely turbulent before finally and gradually smoothing out. The car came to a stop some ten minutes later.

The carriage of the car was opened, and in the darkness, Wu Peng felt a forceful, powerful hand drag him out of the car.

Two people grabbed tightly on his shoulders and escorted him into a room.

As he still had the black bag over his head, Wu Peng could not see the person who spoke. He could only determine that the person was a young male from his voice.

However, he did not respond. He continued to maintain his silence.

“So he’s a mute. It looks like we won’t be able to obtain any information from him. Let’s drag him outside and execute him.” The person’s voice suddenly became very sinister.

“Hehe.” Wu Peng let out a cold laugh but continued to remain silent.

The person became frustrated by Wu Peng’s attitude, and he slammed onto the table fiercely. Wu Peng heard a loud thud.

“Do you think it’s useful for you to act cool? I’ll give you ten seconds to admit to your crimes. Otherwise, we’ll execute you immediately!”

Wu Peng continued to remain silent with a cold smile.

The person finally became infuriated. Wu Peng heard the crisp ring of a gun being cocked and felt something slam fiercely onto his head.

“That was a warning! If you don’t honestly admit to your crimes, it’ll be a bullet that will hit your head!”

Wu Peng let out a sigh, “Sigh, why did the law enforcers send such a newbie? Get your superior over and we’ll talk.”

“D*mn you!” That person became completely infuriated. He had only joined the law enforcers not long ago and was most afraid of someone calling him a newbie.

In his anger, he pointed the barrel of the gun toward Wu Peng’s head and was prepared to pull the trigger.

“Stop!” A cold voice of a woman rang out through the broadcast. “Number 842, put down your weapon and leave the room!” The woman’s icy-cold voice issued another order.

Wu Peng heard the man pant intensely before he quickly left the room.

“Newbie,” Wu Peng muttered to himself.

After another wave of silence, he heard the door of the room open again.

The icy-cold voice of the woman from the broadcast appeared beside his ear, “I’m the superior here. What do you want to say?”

“Take my protective gear off for me first. It’s so stuffy that I’m about to die.”

“Sure, but you have to exchange for it with your name. What’s your name?”

“You sure live up to your reputation as the superior. My name is Wu Peng,” he said with a chuckle.

“Remove his protective gear.”

A law enforcer took the bag off his head and then quickly removed Wu Peng’s protective suit.

He finally saw light once again. Wu Peng stretched his rigid neck and rapidly observed his surroundings.

The room had an area of about ten square meters, the walls and ceiling were painted pitch-black, and in front of him was a long table made out of alloyed metal.

A woman who looked about 25 years old sat on the other side of the table.

She had short hair, an oval face, and a pair of almond-shaped eyes. The corners of her eyes were slightly lifted, and she looked rather suave with her thick brows. She had a tall, sharp nose, and thin lips under her sword-like philtrum. Her lips were currently slightly pursed.

The law enforcer uniform that she wore made her look even suaver.

Wu Peng could not judge her general height as she was sitting down, but she should not be too short as she could meet Wu Peng’s eyes at eye-level.

Wu Peng became a little dazed when he saw this face as a memory suddenly flooded his mind.

“Have you seen enough? Can you start explaining things?”

Faced with the other party’s cold interrogation, Wu Peng twisted his body on the chair and tried his best to sit up straight.

The law enforcer shot Wu Peng a fierce glare, then left the room angrily.

“My name is Ye Wei and I am the captain of the law enforcement unit. What else do you want to ask?”

Wu Peng had a smile on his face, “Ye Wei? That’s a good name! You can ask me whatever questions you have. I’ll tell you everything I know!”

Wu Peng’s sudden cooperation made Ye Wei a little surprised. According to her observation, he possessed strong counter-interrogation skills.

He continued to remain calm and collected under Number 842’s threats.
