45 RED

The new instructor loved wearing red clothes, her name was Red. They say it was her code name when she became an Eve's barrette.

Anna got excited at the idea of having a code name when she officially acme a barrette.

"All of you are useless!" Red said angrily, none of them were getting it at all.

"Do not show any emotions on your face no matter what!"

The worst part was that, she was makibgvthem watch and extremely funny movie.

Not laughing wasn't really a challenge for Amber but for the other two girls, they had to bite their lips or cover their mouths.

"If you by chance go undercover, something happens and you're not supposed to laugh but you do. "

Red's eyes scanned the crowd and her eyes spotted Anna.

She looked at her in anger before slapping her face really hard. Everyone looked in surprise

Anna held her hurting cheek and looked at the woman. She realized what she was trying to do, she held back her anger and instead, she smiled warmly at Red.

A look of surprise flashed by Red's eyes but it was soon replaced with her indifferent expression.

"Good, at least someone here is getting my lesson"

She mouthed the words to Anna and Amber 'good job'

Amber looked uninterested at first but now that she got a praise from the instructor her eyes were now beaming with excitement.

Angel sighed, disappointed. "I shouldn't have threatened my brother to bring me here....I'm so horrible at this and I will probably end up disqualified or dead!"

"Don't say that, you'll be fine...wait! you threatened your brother?"

Angel nodded feeling guilty "I told him I would kill myself if he didn't let me leave Australia. You see I was bullied when I was in school and it affected me alot. Big brother decided to send me to Australia along with Dr Conway so that I could get over my depression. I soon started feeling suffocated over there and mother is also an instructor here so I... decided it would be good for me to come here. The people I was running from that day were the people big brother sent to look after me"

Amber said looking down. "Your mother is here?"

Amber nodded "That's probably why big brother didn't come. He hasn't been in good terms with the family once father disowned him years ago...."

Anna was surprised, she thought he was an orphan when the general adopted him. She could almost imagine what he had been through his whole life.

"Why was he...."

"No talking!" Red yelled as she glared at Anna and Angel.Anna decide to save her questions till after Red was done.

Anna stared at her ceiling with complex emotions. She never knew Bai Sheng's past could have ever been this painful.

His parents saw him as a disappointment right from when he was born because of his disability. Amber was the only person that was close to him in their family.

And it turned out that Bai Sheng was the third son of the Zhang family so his father didn't see any need for having a disabled son in his house when he already had two capable sons so, he disowned Bai Sheng and sent him out of his house at the age of 12.

Bai Sheng was taken in by the general and was sent to the Duan base.

He left the Duan base at 16 to serve in the army.

Angel said her brother's character changed a few years ago as he stopped smiling often and refused to go close to any female other than her.

Anna knew it was about that girl that Bai Sheng spoke of at that time.

But after hearing from his sister she realized that there was more to the story than he explained. What exactly happened between him and that girl? where is she now?

Anna kept asking her self these questions although she couldn't figure out the answers.

"I hope his feelings don't change after two years..." Anna whispered to herself before closing her eyes to sleep.

Very soon, weeks turned to months and months turned to years and in such a short time, Anna, Amber and Angel became the best trainees on the island.

It wasn't easy though because it came with a lot if hardships. They did get through it but not without changing, they changed everything about themselves completely to reach the top.

They only trusted each other and no one else.

But Amber and Angel had noticed that something had changed since the past year. It was on Li Chen's death anniversary,they didn't know why but Anna became an entirely different person since that day. They couldn't remember the last time they saw her smile or laugh at jokes. She sort of became the ultimate barrette, learning all of the skills taught without difficulty. Pushing herself really hard, at some point they didn't even see her as human anymore.

But thankfully she still spoke to them, she didn't distance herself from the people she was close to although it didn't stop them from getting worried continuously about her.

That day on Li Chen's first death anniversary, Anna didn't tell her friends about her encounter with her father.

She had no idea how he got on the island that day but he did.

While she sat on the beach silently paying her respects to Li Chen. Lu Zhangtried to grab her and take her along with him.

Anna had beat him up the best she could but he still overpowered her.

"You'll have to be stronger than that if you want to have revenge for your friend" he said.

Anna clenched her fists angrily "Just what do you want from me?"

Lu Zhang laughed like he heard a joke making Anna feel more and more irritated and annoyed.

"What do i want?...I want a successor my dear, I've been looking for at least anyone of my children who would be able to succeed me but so far....the only person the most similar to me is you....."

"I am nothing like you!" Anna said angrily.

Lu Zhang looked at the girl's eyes "You are more like me than you think, we are so alike"

Anna got angry and swung her fist at him, it caught him unaware and he fell to the ground...

"Hahahaha! That is it! That is what I'm looking for" Lu Zhang grabbed Anna's fists and tightened his grip.

"If you really want to get revenge for your friend. You will have to surpassand you and I both know that will take forever!"

Anna knew the man was intentionally provoking her, she knew he was only trying to make her angry but she couldn't help it.

"Let's see...if you will be able to survive once I leave here!" Anna said staring at the man with eyes filled with hatred.

Lu Zhang smirked and walked away "Two years it is then..."

Anna stared at the back of the man angrily. Two years! just two more years Li Chen.

I will make him bow at your grave covered in his own blood!
