38 Leaving

Bai sheen clenched his fists at the thought, why couldn't he protect the people he cared about?

Anna's smile soon faded 'What am I smiling for?' she thought to herself. There want any reason to smile.....

"Bai Sheng, Su Chen. Thank you" Anna said holding both their hands, Chesa had told her about Eve's barrettes before so she knew she wasn't going to see them for a long time.

"Won't you at leastlet her stay for his burial" Su Chen looked at his father with pleading eyes.

The general glared at his son "What for?!"

The turned to look at Anna who was behind him "Why should the person who caused my son's death be at his burial?. Have you finally lost your mind?"

Su Chen's head hung low, that was his father's own way of thinking. He definitely won't allow Anna to be there.

"It's okay Su Chen.....just say goodbye to him for me" Anna said, she stared at the parked black car in front of her and sighed. 'Another journey...' she thought.

"Help the girl into the car" General Duan said before turning away. To be honest, he did feel guilty for sending the girl away but...his son's death!

He planned to make the girl his own personal weapon, he planned to use the girl against her own father and make that man pay for what he had done.

"Goodbye.....Bai Sheng, Su Chen..." Anna smiled from the window seat waving slightly.

Bai Sheng turned around and walked away, he really couldn't bear to watch her leave, he really couldn't.

"Take care dolly Anna..."

Anna nodded, she was definitely going to miss being called that. She loved that name now.

"Goodbye....Li Chen..." Anna watched as the Duan residence slowly disappeared from her sight when the car began to move, her voice was only a whisper but the driver heard it and patted her shoulder.

This action startled Anna and she turned to look at him

He had a smile on his face 'Pretty good looking' Anna thought to herself.

"Don't worry, Li Chen's resting now hmm?" he said patting her head.

Anna didn't know him but she felt somewhat comforted by his words.

"Thank you....".

"No problem, just doing what I should do " he said making Anna giggle at his words.

"Is something funny?" he couldn't help but ask.

"Nope" Anna shook her head still smiling, she turned her head and loaned out the window. Her smile faded as she stared at the passing trees.....Li Chen liked trees.

He told her about it once, how a tree saved his life and since then he appreciated them. His eyes were so bright when he spoke about them that day.....

"I just want to wake up tomorrow just to realize this was all a dream...."

Anna smiled bitterly "Unfortunately....that won't happen"

The car stopped at the airport and before Anna knew it, she was on a flight to an unknown island.

The flight was very long and tiring but it gave Anna time to reflect on herself. She soon realized 'I have never tried to take control of my life before.....I have never had to make a choice for my self before Why is that?' she asked herself.

Anna laughed dryly making the man next to her cringe.

"Uh....Anna, are we safe?"

Anna turned to look at him "No need to fear Scott, I'll spare your life"

Scott scratches his itching head....this girl was really scary even though he ha only known her for a few hours.

"Get off! what are you staring at?!" The woman in red yelled. Anna had just come out of the plane observing her environment....well she tried to.

"How fast can those wheels go?....hurry up!" The woman had on a red army uniform and a black barrette on.

Anna didn't even know there were red army uniforms.

Anna nodded and sped off, Scott stared at the back of the girl and shook his head 'It was nice knowing Anna...Rest in peace'

Scott noticed the woman in red was glaring at him as well

"Uh.....bye Scarlet!" he said as he sped off as well 'He needed to get out of this hell hole!'

"Yeesh! slow down!, is this a race?" Anna didn't know how the woman in red caught up to her, she got startled.

"I am Scarlet, I will be taking care of you till you can walk" Scarlet did a quick introduction and nodded at Anna.

Anna nodded back not understanding.

Scarlet glared at Anna "This is the point when you....introduce yourself!"

'her voice is so loud' Anna thought fighting the urge to massage her aching head.

''I..I am Anna Lu....its nice to meet you" Anna said trying to look away from the woman's piercing glare.

Why was she feeling like she was this woman's worst enemy.

"So you're the person who killed my ex?"

'Yep! there it is!' Anna thought, that explained the look.
