Chapter 81 - Stand As One

"ENGAGE! ENGAGE!"

"ALL CITIZENS HAVE BEEN EVACUATED!"

"BARRIERS! CAST MORE BARRIERS! DON'T LET IT MOVE AN INCH!"

The leak from the underground have resulted in numerous low rank Calamities surging. Most of them have been exterminated but a small flicker near an oil slick will spark a bigger flame, the sudden deactivation of the grand concealment formation and the chaos on the underground has piqued the hunger of Grade Nine Calamity with 'Singularity' record, piercing up the ground and rendering most of the underground facility unaccessible.

"CAST THE AIR ISOLATION FORMATION!"

"MOLECULAR ISOLATOR HAS BEEN CASTED!"

"CASTING OXYGEN SHIELD FOR THE FRONTLINERS!"

A 'singularity' is a crisis that can potentially lead into a world ending scenario, some of the recorded vile beasts have been researched so that the mortalSs of Neamh can pick up their weapon and fight back.

In the middle of the Amos Citadel. A massive underground dragon with a thousand arms on every part of its body, two wings that can shift the gale. Upon the hole that it created is a horde of digger Calamities rushing to commence collateral damage.

Timoreia, that name has been ingrained on your very skull for countless times. The existence, the perpetrator, and the very reason why your body was regressed into a child-like vampire until this moment—not mentioning the pink devil that is unsympathetic enough to let your appearance be downgraded.

After fighting many of the low rank Calamities, you and Lues got separated from Thuljas. As for Goyang, don't worry, that little guy seems to have an appetite for Calamities, enlarging its body to consume every vile beast on its path. Although you can use your 'Blood Sign' technique to annihilate the battlefield, your instinct tells you to preserve your strength for what has to come earlier on.

Admiring the disgusting monstrosity from the broken platform up on the surface, you ask, "Lues, can we kill that thing?"

"Apparently not, we can contain it but not as easily as the armored mole." Lues still exude her cocky attitude despite having the same mana depository where one overusing can lead to both vessels' doom.

Every building on the surface was coated by a dense forcefield, this lead to the hole on the big street. There is also a faint barrier on the sky, which makes you wonder why they want to isolate the Calamity inside the Citadel. That is before everything becomes heavy and glimmering in faint yellow. You seek out the source to see a radiant ferrowl is airborne in the sky with a lance and a flag.

The Timorea freezes, as an unknown humanoid doll with the looks of a girl grabbing the immortal Calamity and flies to the sky together like pinching a worm out from the ground. The sky barrier temporarily deactivates until the city-length dragon is plucked fully off from the Citadel's beating heart.

"Attention! Everyone!"

A valiant ferrowl in the sky. With the background of a long monstrosity being extracted from the earth.

The golden aura coming from her is dense, with some kind of nanomachine-like energy that works the same way as your virus vessels, but instead of infiltrating, the substances are healing, enhancing your physique by tremendously pumping a large amount of mana that emits a healing aura, enticing the cell to regenerate faster, while also increasing the urge to be more productive and heightens morale.

'Temporary Stamina Buff' acquired.

'Temporary Mana Conductivity Buff' acquired.

'Temporary Valor Buff' acquired.

The iron owl's voice ruptures the sky.

"This Citadel is our mark to history itself, our beating heart, our home, a shelter to whom we know. But heaven had decided to use our heart for their 'Divine Banquet'! It has been estimated that there will be 28,000 Calamities marching to our position from all directions."

You can hear the voice of other personnel near you. "28,000!? We're dead!"

"This is a divine massacre, Amos will fall!!"

"What are those people on Kratos doing!? This is the backline!"

"Why this late!? There is no announcement from the Skyline!?"

The fear and uncertainty stab everyone with the weight of life and death itself. Some are frozen in terror, some clench their fist, some cry, some kneel with weak knees, some are unsure, some are contemplating the future loss, some are melancholic to see that their home will be no more. Those are the 30% of all active Vagants within this Citadel.

The rest 70% bear their fangs with extreme prejudice to the Calamities. Most of these patriotic personnel are the elders and seniors of the Vagants, knowing how firm their roots hold to the ground as their eyes glimpses their trauma of fallen comrades and families.

After harvesting the numbers of determinate operators, Thuljas points her flag into the sky as the unknown Tekhanure throws the massive Timoreia away into the sky.

"Mortals of Neamh! Sharpen your sword and fasten your armor! We are the Assailants! A wretched beast made of centipedes! A stampede! A legion who proceeds to consume everything when decreed! REMEMBER! WE'RE THE ABOMINATIONS WHO SURVIVED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGAINST THEM! AND WE WILL BE THERE TO SPITE THE SKY FOR ANOTHER THOUSAND YEARS!!"

The whole Citadel fills with the radiant energy that Thuljas exuded, your view is upon the life of the leaves from a tree with the need to survive. Everyone who is even stronger than Thuljas heeds to her prayer, the one who felt weak suddenly feels strong from their companion's willpower, this might be your first time seeing Thuljas' eyes so brilliant and inspiring.

"ALL OF YOU MUST STAND AS ONE! ABANDON YOU FEAR AND TEAR THAT FEEDS THE EGO OF THOSE FROM ABOVE! AMOS WILL NOT FALL!"

""AMOS WILL NOT FALL!""

""AMOS WILL NOT FALL!!""

Everyone casted their weapon upon the sky, as they chant the words full of hope.

""OUR CITADEL'S HEART WILL TASTE THEIR FEAST!""
