50 Just like a pebble sinking in an ocean!

He knew deep in his heart that his captors were not kidding. He had seen the sparks coming out from the instrument on which Noah was working just a minute ago.

He could see all his hopes drowning just like a pebble sinking in an ocean.

He knew he couldn't stay still and trust them to let him go. He has to make them trust him, it was his only option for now.

"He cleared his throat and said, "Who are you all?" He has to go slow and easy, just one question at a time. He didn't want them to get overwhelmed with all the rapid firing questions and shoot him in annoyance.

Noah turned his head towards him confusedly. Didn't they just introduced themselves just now?

'Maybe he has short memory span' he thought.

"I am Noah and this is Alyssa," he said pointing at her.

"What are you going to do to me?" He asked once again.

"I don't know. Alyssa will think about it. For the time being please excuse me." with this said, he went to continue his experiments. Never in his wild dreams, he would have thought that what he had uttered now would leave a person completely baffled.

His speech never hinted anything related to killing Jake or something, but it was his point of view. But for Jake, it was something else. He had inferred from his statement that the boss of their group or gang was probably Alyssa. And she surely has some evil plans laid for him. He also suspects that they had known their real identity.

His thought process was broken with the noise of something breaking after being slammed down in the table.

It was Alyssa who was now holding a broken keyboard in her hand.

"You... You broke that. That had cost us...." Noah said. His hand that was pointing at the broken computer set in front of him was trembling. His eyes were so wide from the horror that they seemed to fall off from their sockets.

Realizing what she had done just now, Alyssa placed her head in her hands and sighed. "I am sorry." She apologized to Noah. "I will make up to you for this." she continued.

Noah pursed his lips and said, "It is okay."

That computer set was Noah favorite. He has spent almost half of his fortune which he was saving just to buy this set. Now seeing it broken like this he was sad. Even though Alyssa has more money than him and can buy him another computer set which could be better than the present computer set but the joy of buying something from one's own money is something else. It is unparalleled.

It is in men's nature that they will take more care of the things bought by their own money than the gifted ones.

She lowered her heads in her palms and sighed. She had to think of something else later to rectify her mistake. She will probably start to pay him more so that he can buy another computer set of his liking and she swears to never touch it again.

"Is it still an error?" Noah spoke suddenly after a long stretch of silence between them.

Alyssa raised her head from her palms in surprise. He forgave her so soon?

Actually, though Noah and Alyssa had spent only a few months together they have developed such a close between them that only happens to be seen between two brothers who had gone to war and had saved each other lives. To conclude this, it can be said that the bond that Alyssa has with Noah is stronger than the bond that she shares with Dianna and her other friends. She can trust Noah with her life and Noah too, trusts her with his life.

They have spent these months practically together. It can be said that Alyssa goes to her own house just to sleep and returns back to this place early morning. In these months Noah had got to know Alyssa closely at a personal level. He knew that she was not that type of person that could break things just because she is upset. He had seen her to defeat her troubles and overcome victoriously from any situation without making any fuss. He had seen Alyssa's determination and her strong mind. It is not easy for anyone to make Alyssa lose her cool unless and until the problem is very difficult. That's why Noah knew that Alyssa is facing one of the most difficult problems in her life. She is desperate to find it's solution. And as her friend instead of helping her, he couldn't bear to make a fuss about this situation. His love and care for Alyssa won over his grievance over this small matter and he asked so.

Alyssa pursed her lips in defeat and nodded her head in response.

"How can this be…?" he wondered.

Alyssa sighed once again.

"I know. But it is as it is." She said. In the past few days, she had done everything. Read every book that is related to coding. She tried every coding pattern but all her struggles were in vain. Each and every code that she had created resulted in error. She felt defeated. She didn't know what to do anymore.

"The code was to…" before Noah could say any further, he was interrupted by Alyssa.

"Noah!" Alyssa said in warning making Noah stop from speaking anything extra.

She then pointed at their captive with her eyes. it was alright for Noah to speak about anything if they were alone but now they had someone else in their room who they didn't trust. He can blackmail them in the future if he knows about anything else.

Noah understood her too and abruptly closed his mouth.

Seeing Alyssa looking so defeated, Noah raked his brain to think of a solution suddenly he thought of an idea.

"You can ask about the problem from that person," Noah said.

Alyssa raised her eyebrows in confusion. "Which person?" she asked.

"The one who is a better hacker than you," Noah replied.

Alyssa's eyes widened in realization.

Yes, she knew that person. She knew he can help her with her coding. But later when she thought more about it, the more she found herself in a dilemma.

At first, he had asked her about the Royal families secret. Then he proposed her to be his teacher. She could not help feeling skeptical about his motives.

"I will meet him to judge his character first." She said and took out her satellite phone to send him a message.

'Want to meet you. Need to discuss something.'

On the other side, Reinhard was sitting on his main chair in his conference room. Around twenty people were kneeling in front of him. The atmosphere of the room was cold and eerie making the skin of those twenty people to shiver in fright.

Recently someone from their company had leaked their top-secret plan to their rival group. It had been ten days but they couldn't find anything about the culprit or how he did it. These men were highly trained and were best in their field but had failed to retrieve any valuable information. They knew they had failed their mission and were ready to accept any kind of punishment bestowed upon them.

Reinhard was silent all this time. But this silence was not peaceful, it was the calm before the storm. He was very disappointed in his men and his anger was growing every second. He opened his mouth to give his final edict but before he can say anything his mobile vibrated.

With burning anger in his eyes, he wiped his phone from his pocket. His whole family and all the people working with him knew that his temper was worse these few days. So, they have avoided calling him or contacting him to save themselves from a raging bull.

When Reinhard got the message notification his temper flared even more. He was about to throw his mobile phone to smash it into pieces but his eyes landed on the name of the sender. Alyssa.

Just like water pouring on a hot iron blade and cooling it down, Alyssa's message broke his stoic, cold, hard face, and just like a spring after a long winter, a smile bloomed in his face.

He read the message and his cold frozen eyes twinkled in happiness and warmth entered in it.

He typed the message and send it to Alyssa.

'Not now. After one month, the same day at Garrison House.'

All the twenty men had their head down and were patiently waiting for their punishment when they felt the temperature of the room change and all of them inaudibly sighed. But nobody dared to raise their head. After Reinhard send the message he said, "Find the culprit within three days. Leave!"
