48 A Vampire at your doorstep!

Alyssa wandered in the forest near the old castle deep in thoughts. Her main concern was not that of the vampires because she knew that the government will handle it. It was not the first time that the Vampires have attacked their kingdom, but it was the first time that they were so difficult to trace and were killed in such a large amount.

Her main concern was the plight of her countrymen. She knew that a rebellion will soon occur and she wanted to be part of it if not she wanted to be an instigator. After seeing those documents related to the royal members, she was adamant to support those revolutionists. Deep in her thoughts of how to trigger a revolution, she was walking along the tree lines when she stumbled on something and fell on the ground. But instead of coming in contact with a hard ground, she landed on something soft. That something was not as soft as cotton but was also not as hard as the dirt ground.

She heard a painful groan below her. She raised her eyes and her eyes fell on a chiseled face of someone. He had dark black hair and a shiny pearl-like pale face. There was a person lying below her or it can be said that she fell on someone. The person below her had his eyes closed and a deep frown was marking his beautiful feature. One look at his face and anyone can tell that he was in deep pain. Alyssa swiftly got up from his body and looked around for any wound in his body. It was then a strong smell drifted towards her, completely shocking her. She stood from her position in panic.

The body in front of her doesn't belong to a werewolf but of another creature of the night, Vampires. Vampires have strong pheromones and can be detected from far. It smells sweet and has a tinge of nature's freshness to it. It is their pheromones that help them to attract their prey so easily and next comes their knee dropping physique and facial features which help them to get whatever prey they want at ease.

Alyssa was so deep in her thoughts that she paid no heed to the scent. Or maybe it was his scent that she unconsciously walked towards his place.

The first instinct that kicked Alyssa was flight. She had seen the news and the only vampires present in her kingdom were the killers. The person lying in front of her was no doubt was the killer.

'He might have got hurt while escaping from the police or guards of the capital', she thought.

It was not safe to leave a killer at this place when her hideout is so near. It may attack Noah or her anytime. It was also not safe to call the guards of the palace at this place. They may ask thousands of difficult questions and her hideout might get exposed.

Alyssa was deep in thought. She didn't know what to do with the killer at the moment.

'Forget it. I will take him inside first and think about other things later.' She thought and with difficulty dragged the killer to her hideout.

"What's the smell, Allie?" He said scrunching his brows.

Alyssa looked at him but before she could explain something he looked at the body she was dragged inside and sniffed the air. His eyes widened in surprise and looked at Alyssa in horror.

"Let me first explain." She hurriedly said before he could say something.

Noah signaled her indicating to 'go on'. He crossed his arms in front of his chest and raised one of his eyebrows. He was waiting patiently for her answer.

"I found him in the woods and it was dangerous to let him leave there so, I dragged him here." She explained.

"For God sake Alyssa, he is a vampire." He shouted in a panic.

"More reason for him to not leave him in the open." She said calmly.

"And a killer." He said pointing at the passed-out vampire.

"Exactly." She then continued, "He can trace us or pick our scent and could have attacked us anytime. That's why I brought him here. We will think about, how to dispose of his body after killing him." She whispered the last part of her sentence by half-covering her mouth once again shocking Noah.

"Just kidding." She said throwing both of her hands in the air. "Now will you help me to drag him inside?" She asked.

Hesitantly he touched the vampire's body and cringed inwardly. However, he still held the body and along with Alyssa dragged the vampire inside. Vampires and werewolves often ignore each other's presence. There touch or even their smell can make a werewolf gag and Noah being an alfa with a heightened sense of smell and touch was very uncomfortable in the presence of a vampire.

It was always said that Vampires and Werewolves are mortal enemies, but it is not completely true. Both of them are the creatures of darkness and can co-exist with one another. The difference lies in their thoughts and living, because they belong to the different species.

The main reason that they don't like each other is because Vampires think themselves as a civilized species, unlike Werewolves that are couth and animal-like, completely uncivilized.

It is just like the attack of Vikings on different communities, though they belong to the same species Homo Sapiens, they don't exactly co-exist in peace.

Noah and Alyssa dragged the vampire's body inside. Both of them were panting because of the hard labor work.

"Make him sit in the chair," Alyssa instructed Noah and he did as she said.

After making him sit on the chair, Alyssa tied his hands and feet with a rope.

"Seriously Allie! Do you really think that those ropes will prevent him from escaping or worst attacking us?" Noah said.

"You know sometimes you sound like Dianna," Alyssa said while chuckling.

Unlike Noah who was sweating buckets when in the presence of a vampire, Alyssa was completely calm.
