Chapter 30 - The Demanding Princess

Kaede's eyes were sparkling as she gazed proudly at her handiwork. In front of her beaming face was Isaac, dressed from head to toe in a brand new butlers uniform. His hair had been neatly combed back to fit the stereotypical image of a butler and he was just slipping on a pair of white gloves to complete the look.

" Hohoho I would say my choice is impeccable as always. It fits you like a glove no?" Kaede said with an unreasonable amount of pride in her voice.

Isaac shifted uncomfortably in his new unfamiliar clothes, however he had to admit that the fit was perfect. Which made him question all the more how Kaede had grasped his size so perfectly with just a single glance.

"Yes it fits perfectly actually, which makes me wonder how on earth did you know my size?" Isaac asked with a mix of exasperation and amazement in his voice.

Hearing the amazement in Isaac's voice Kaede laughed smugly to herself.

"This is a talent I was born with, I can tell anyone's clothes sizes just from one glance." Kaede's voice trailed off for a second before a devilish grin spread across her face and she continued

"The same goes for a woman's three sizes as well you know? All I need is a single glance for me to know. So if you're ever in need of that kind of information, all you have to do is ask... Oh, but of course my three sizes are a secret so don't even bother asking!" Kaede said suggestively.

Isaac rolled his eyes at kaede's unbelievable answer.

"I don't care about your three sizes. Look Kae, as much as I appreciate that you're excited, we really don't have a lot of time so let's get thing moving shall we?" Isaac said with a bright smile on his face.

Isaac's complete disinterest in her and single minded focus on their escape caused Kaede to pout grumpily, however she soon recognized the urgency of the situation and likewise focused in on the task at hand.

"Very well. Remember, as one of my butlers to always remain 3 steps behind me at all times and never speak to me unless spoken to. Those are the absolute basic rules that all the maids and butlers in the Royal Palace have to follow, got it?" Kaede asked.

Isaac responded with a simple nod of his head and Kaede smiled seeing that he had understood.

"Good. Then off to our first stop, my dad's bedroom!" Kaede proclaimed loudly before leading the way out of the room and into the hallways of the Royal Palace.

It was the first time actually walking through the Royal Palace for Isaac as he would normally enter through Kaede's bedroom balcony and go no further than that. However he couldn't help but be impressed by the decadence of the entire building. Beautiful and expensive paintings decorated the walls at regular intervals, every corner and lining of every door, window and ceiling was decorated with exquisitely carved stone and marble and the floor was carpeted with a luxurious patterned carpet. As Isaac looked around he began to wonder the astronomical amount of money required to build such a lavish Palace.

"Hey, stop looking around like some kind of star struck tourist, you're supposed to be working here remember?" Kaede said in a quiet voice.

Isaac quickly snapped out of his daze upon hearing Kaede's sharp reminder and cast his gaze straight ahead of him. They walked in silence through the beautiful hallways for about 10 minutes before they finally arrived at a door that was, unbelievably, even more lavish than the rest.

"This is my dad's room, his credit card is sure to be sitting around somewhere in here. Stand guard here for a moment, while I go grab it." Kaede said with a hint of urgency in her voice.

"OK be as quick as possible, I'm going to look suspicious as hell if anyone turns up and starts asking me questions." Isaac replied in a hushed voice.

Realising the precarious situation they would be in of someone started asking Isaac questions Kaede stepped swiftly towards the large door and gave the door a firm push. However instead of the door swinging open as she had anticipated, the door stood firm, unmoving. Kaede's head snapped around and she looked desperately at Isaac.

"It's locked."

Isaac could only look back with disbelief at Kaede. This girl really lived with her head in the clouds, Isaac thought to himself.

"What's the plan now then princess?" Isaac asked

"Well it's rather simple really, I'll have you pick the lock." Kaede stated very matter-of-factly as if it was the simplest thing in the world. Isaac, on the other hand, was in despair at the foolhardiness of Kaede's idea. She really didn't see any potential problems with breaking into the Kings bedroom?

"Is this really OK? I mean, this is the King's bedroom. If we get caught there's gonna be massive trouble, are you sure you need this credit card?" Isaac asked while internally wondering how important a credit card could truly be.

Kaedes face twisted into one of horror when she heard Isaac's question.

"Isaac. This credit card signifies my very life, my soul. You would ask me to leave my soul behind? Why not just kill me now? Would you ask a beggar to give you his last credit? Would you ask a unicorn to give you it's horn? A king his crown? Of course not! Therefore, please stop asking ridiculous questions and get this door open!"

Isaac rolled his eyes hearing Kaedes dramatics,

"Anyway, you're already kidnapping the Kings daughter, that's already a crime punishable by death. Why are you worried about breaking into the Kings room? It's not like you can get in any more trouble."

Isaac shrugged his shoulders hearing Kaede's logic and realised she had a fair point. Wasting no more time he walked up to the door and waved his hand over the lock.

"Its open."

"Don't play around with me Isaac. You didn't even do anything, there's no way you broke the lock that easily."

"Just try it."

Kaede turned the handle and to her great surprise the door opened without resistance. She quickly snapped her head around to look at Isaac.

"How did you do that?"

"Don't sweat the details, just hurry it up. I don't imagine we can linger here for too long." Isaac said with desperation in his voice.

Kaede crinkled her face for a moment, unhappy with Isaac's answer but quickly remembered the situation they were in and quickly dashed into the room. Isaac nervously shifted his view from left to right as he waited for Kaede to finish looking for what she was after.

Mercifully, after just a minute of Kaede rushed out of the room with a broad smile on her face and a card in her hand. Breathing a sigh of relief Isaac spoke up.

"Right, we've got what you wanted. Can we please get out of here now?" Isaac pleaded.

Kaede looked at Isaac with annoyance "No not yet, there's one more important thing we need to grab before we can leave."

Isaac rolled his eyes in frustration, he was all too aware of the situation he was in. He was effectively kidnapping a Royal princess, even though the princess wanted to come with him he was fairly certain that excuse wouldn't fly with the Palace guards. Kaede's demanding nature was dragging out their escape and it was making Isaac extremely nervous.

"Fine, we'll get this last thing. What do we need to go and get?"

Kaede smiled when she realised that she was getting her way again and replied confidently.

"We just need to pop to the grand Hall and remove my family's priceless treasured sword from the stone."

Isaac's jaw hit the floor at the audacity of Kaede's request. Not only was he effectively kidnapping their daughter he was also going to steal the Royal family's priceless treasured sword on top of it all? This girl is just too bold! Isaac thought to himself.

However as he replayed what Kaede had just said to him something sounded strange to him.

"Hold on, remove the sword from the stone? Does this treasured sword of yours have a name by any chance?" Isaac asked curiously.

Hearing Isaac's question Kaede's face changed to one of bewilderment.

"How did you know it has a name? That's not supposed to be public knowledge."

Hearing Kaede's answer Isaac leaned in excitedly and pressed Kaede for an answer.

" Surely it can't be. Kaede please, what's the sword called?"

Seeing Isaac's excitement Kaede took a step back in confusion before answering.

"It's called Excalibur."
