Chapter 82 - Blackfire

"SIRIIII!!" Banshee Emma shrieked wildly.

"Hey, funny question." Alexander said to Flamewing as he sealed the Chrono-Spatial Prison around the Golden Lich Emperor's body. "Why do all banshees make the SIRII! Sound?"

"Uhh… I guess their vocal chords all got twisted the same way during the process of raising them from the dead?" Flamewing tried to answer logically.

"Hmmm. Maybe. Or maybe, they're all part of the Siri Banshee Clan. Maybe the Banshees from the other planets make different sounds." Alexander speculated.

"Hahaha!" Flamewing laughed out loud. "What if their clan name is Shimarozu?"

"Then they would probably wail out SHIMAAAA!! Or something." Alexander laughed as well.

He raised his hand and pointed at where the Golden Lich Emperor's head had flown away just now and said to his Wyvern.

"Fetch me that head, please."

Grahhh. His Wyvern made a depressed sound before flying to where Alexander was pointing.

"What's with her?" Alexander asked Flamewing.

"Why are you asking me?" Flamewing asked in annoyance.

"You're a dragon. And you're both white in colour. You should know what's making her depressed!" Alexander said.

"What has my colour and my race got to do with me understanding how she feels? You… Colourist and racist pig!" Flamewing said indignantly.

Alexander grinned. He loved teasing Flamewing. He glanced at the still shrieking Banshee Emma which was completely covered by a mess of wooden branches.

Slash! Slash! SLASH!!

"Hey old man, need help over there?" Alexander called out.

"I am fine, Your Majesty. She will tire and die once more very soon." Dubaza replied politely.

"Alright then. Deal with it while I free the dragons." Alexander grabbed the head that his Wyvern had brought back and dumped it into the Chrono-Spatial Prison to be reunited with its body. "Let's go that way. Stop whining, I'm bringing you to meet your ancestors." Alexander told his Wyvern sternly.

Grahhhh. She made another depressed sound.

Alexander looked at his Wyvern in amusement. What's with it?

"Ignore her! To your left! Let's go!" Flamewing said excitedly. She couldn't wait to be reunited with her mother and get her body back!

Alexander sped forward towards where the dragons were imprisoned obligingly. He was excited at the thought of releasing six powerful dragons as well.

He released his senses, and noticed six extremely powerful Dark Spatial Prisons. With a thought, a golden wave of light shot out from him and settled on the six prisons.

CRACKLE! CRACKLE! WHOOSH!

The dark and gloomy prison melted away under the power of Alexander's golden wave, revealing six powerful dragons of different colours.

ROAARRR!!

Majestic dragon roars rang out thunderously and a heavy pressure fell upon the entire forest. Whatever could be said of dragons, they were definitely one thing - Mighty.

Four of the dragons immediately turned and went towards an unconscious white dragon who was simply lying down in her cage, unmoving. Flamewing.

The fifth and largest one took to the sky and unleashed the full might of his dragon aura.

ROARRRR!!!

He roared once more, his terrible mood clear for all to see. Driven by their survival instincts, every single living being in the forest remained silent. Not even the bugs made a sound. The only thing that could be heard was the rustling of the leaves blown by the wind, and the dying wails of Banshee Emma.

"Uncle Blackfire!" Flamewing cried out emotionally. How she had missed her family members! Her uncle Blackfire had doted on her ever since she was born, and seeing him here once more truly made her emotions overflow.

Alexander instructed his white Wyvern to fly towards the magnificent black dragon who dwarfed every single thing around him. At a full hundred meters tall, he was a giant even within the dragon race. In front of him, Alexander looked extremely small.

However, the power he emitted put to rest any misgivings the mighty black dragon might have. It was a strange power, one that he had not seen or felt for thousands of years.

"Scion Lord." The black dragon rumbled in his rough reptilian voice. He looked down at Alexander's tiny figure who was standing calmly upon a visibly trembling white coloured Wyvern.

Whoosh!

The black dragon disappeared, and in its place was a large (by human standards) almost two-meter tall human with pale skin and garbed in the purest black robe.

He was an impressive looking human being, almost perfect in every way. His black robes were adorned with simple red trim and were fastened together by a red belt. Although he had lost the magnificent ferocity that his dragon body had, the power he exuded did not diminish one bit.

Any human being would immediately collapse and bend the knee before his incredibly majestic presence. Anyone, but Alexander, the Scion Lord.

"It was you who freed us." Blackfire stated, his sharp gaze taking in Alexander's features and rapidly forming his first impression.

"Indeed." Alexander said softly. He gazed at Blackfire silently, wanting to see how the mighty black dragon would respond.

Blackfire stared back at Alexander, his face inscrutable.

"What are you two doing?!" Flamewing cried out. "My body is right there, my mother is right there!! Get the introductions done and over with and let's go!"

But Alexander remained silent. He was not a calculative person, and he wasn't planning on milking the dragons of everything they had to give to pay back the great favor he had just bestowed upon them, but he also knew that as noble and honorable beings, dragons did not like to owe debts, especially life debts such as this. So in order to avoid muddling everything, especially once he revealed the existence of Flamewing within his soul, he decided that he would deal with the rescue first. And for that, the crux of everything was in the hands of this giant black dragon.

Whines of sadness from the four dragons could be heard from behind, and Blackfire's face finally grew slightly troubled.

"I owe you life debts of six dragons." Blackfire began. "A life for a life. I will serve you and your descendents as your subordinate for the length of six human lifespans. Six hundred years."

Alexander nodded and immediately agreed. That was fair enough. He did not expect all six dragons to suddenly begin to serve him just because he had rescued them.

"But I have a request to make." Blackfire said in a troubled voice. "My niece is in desperate need of help. I would like to postpone my service for ten years while I look for a solution to her dilemma. On my word as a dragon, I will return to you and your family after ten years to begin my service. If you agree to that, I will extend my length of service by a hundred years."

"Uncle!!" Flamewing sobbed uncontrollably in Alexander's mind. She was extremely touched by his willingness to sacrifice himself just so he could have time to try and save her.

"I appreciate your offer. But I will have to respectfully decline." Alexander said with a smile.

Blackfire frowned slightly at that, and his mighty dragon aura surged out at full force. Unable to withstand the pressure, thousands of animals that were merely cowering previously now began running away in all directions, gripped by an uncontrollable sense of terror that drove all thoughts away save for one - flee!

However, to Alexander, it was nothing. The aura he emitted as a Scion Lord was qualitatively stronger, and he barely felt the dragon aura that drove everything around him so crazy.

"I accept your service for six hundred years, starting now. And your first mission, Lord Blackfire, is to escort me to your niece, so that I may begin to restore her soul back to her body." Alexander said in a serious voice.

"What are you talking about?" Blackfire demanded, his face filled with surprise and disbelief.

Surprise that Alexander knew about Flamewing's condition, and disbelief that he was able to save her.

"I am a Scion Lord." Alexander said very simply, not bothering to explain himself. The story would take far too long to tell, and he definitely didn't want to do the telling there.

Blackfire stared at Alexander for a few moments before nodding heavily. At this point, any progress was excellent news. If a Scion Lord says he knows how to save his niece, then maybe it is possible.

"Very well."

He drew out his sword, placed it horizontally on both hands and offered it to Alexander as went down on one knee. "Blackfire greets my Lord."

"Arise, Lord Blackfire. You can call me Alexander." Alexander said as he took Blackfire's sword.

Blackfire stood up wordlessly and moved to hover beside Alexander, but one step behind. At his level, mere levitation was a skill that needn't be mentioned at all.

"Here, take your sword back. You'll need it. We have many battles ahead of us." Alexander tossed the sword back to Blackfire.

At the mention of battles, Blackfire's eyes gleamed slightly, but it quickly disappeared. He caught his sword and sheathed it once more.

With that done, Alexander quickly made his way to the other five dragons.

"Mother!" Flamewing sobbed as she saw a massive red dragon hugging the body of a slightly smaller white dragon mournfully.

"Hey, quit crying. Tell me how to move your soul back to your body!" Alexander told Flamewing.
