Chapter 124 - Disciple

Undeterred by her first failure, Fluff-fluff injected another tendril of her luck energy into Aleyria. This time, she focused really hard on her energy and 'held on' to it with all her power.

Whoosh!

"Amazing!" Fluff-fluff cried out in surprise. "It actually is powerful enough to rip it out of my hands!"

"What's amazing and powerful? Rip what out of your hands?" A cool and enigmatic voice sounded from outside the golden sphere.

"Ah, Magius. Come see this quick!" Fluff-fluff did not seem surprised by Magius's appearance at all, and immediately dismissed her golden sphere as she impatiently motioned for Magius, The God of Magic, to come and touch Aleyria's forehead..

Intrigued and not at all bothered that Fluff-fluff didn't even greet him properly, Magius didn't hesitate and immediately stepped forward. He lightly touched Aleyria on her forehead and tried to sense what exactly got Fluff-fluff so excited.

It was extremely rare for an entity such as Fluff-fluff to be excited over something. Plus, she did mention something ripping something out of her hands. What in God's name was that?

"Focus on my energy." Fluff-fluff instructed Magius excitedly and then injected a large amount of her luck energy into the unconscious Aleyria's forehead. Next to her, Blackfire could only stand next to the also unconscious Alexander helplessly. One God and one Fortuitous Cosmic Feline. There was absolutely no room for a powerful Black Fire Dragon to even make his presence known.

As before, the moment Fluff-fluff's luck energy entered Aleyria's energy pathways, a dark wave of mysterious energy swarmed around it and within seconds, absorbed it cleanly with nothing remaining.

"It absorbed my luck energy! It can actually absorb it!" Fluff-fluff cried out happily.

Magius frowned lightly as he witnessed the incredible scene. The energy of the Fortuitous Cosmic Feline was notoriously powerful and practically impossible to even sense, much less defend against or even interact with. Having an energy form that could absorb such incredibly precious energy was… mind blowingly shocking would be too mild a phrase for it.

The only reason he, The God of Magic and the only remaining God of the Universe actually made time to come and talk to this irritating fat cat was purely because of that. He had no defense against the power of luck, and if the fat cat decided that she wanted to watch Magius go through a series of unfortunate events, it would be extremely troublesome for him.

Of course he could just kill the fat cat, but that would be too much of a waste. He could really do with a huge amount of luck on his side. Plus, he did owe her a big debt for services she had rendered in the previous war against Zegaro and Perses.

All in all, he had a really complicated relationship with Fluff-fluff.

"So? What do you think?" Fluff-fluff asked Magius excitedly.

Magius ignored her for a moment and continued to sense the dark and mysterious energy that was swirling innocently in Aleyria's body, trying to detect if it had sentience. If it did, it would be too dangerous to leave alive.

Thankfully, after a few seconds, he could say with absolute certainty that it was merely dark energy that could somehow break down other forms of energy and absorb it.

The questions that he had to answer then were, how did the energy come to be, and could it be replicated?

"Well?" Fluff-fluff pressed on impatiently.

"She'll be fine." Magius replied, opting to avoid her real question.

"Of course she'll be fine." Fluff-fluff snapped. "That was not what I was asking you about."

"What exactly were you asking me about? Be clear and concise!" Magius reprimanded Fluff-fluff firmly.

"I meant, would she be a good disciple for me? I feel like she would be able to receive my inheritance!" Fluff-fluff shivered in excitement as she thought of finally being able to pass down everything that she had accumulated, as well as a portion of her 'responsibilities' (as Magius had often reminded her) to a disciple!

Magius sighed. "You really have a misguided idea of what a disciple is. You're thinking of dumping your responsibilities to your disciple aren't you?"

Fluff-fluff giggled cutely.

"That's not what a teacher should be doing!" Magius said sternly. "A teacher should be nurturing the disciples, and leading them towards the right path. The teacher should always make sure that the disciple receives the best guidance so that the disciple can become a useful member of the Universe! Contributing to the wellbeing, safety and security of every living soul."

"I understand." Fluff-fluff said solemnly.

"You… You do?" Magius frowned suspiciously. He had never seen the fat cat so meek before.

"Of course I do! I just have to look at you as a bright and shining example of how a teacher should be, right?" Fluff-fluff said with a straight face.

Magius's frown grew bigger as he finally sensed the trap that he had made for himself. He glanced at the frozen moon and the frozen Krakus with a face fully exhibiting his maniacal expression.

"Damn that idiot Krakus. Why did I have to send him as the messenger?" Magius bitterly regretted his decision.

He was extremely busy organizing yet another search party in a desolate area of the universe where he had received reliable reports that death energy could be sensed growing in power.

He had received Fluff-fluff's unique message, asking him to come quickly to her position to save a little boy named Alexander. Of course as a mighty God, he immediately felt annoyed that he was being summoned like a mere errand boy. So he had immediately decided to ignore the message. However, he immediately changed his mind as he realized that he would probably need that damned cat's help in the future, and would probably need to remain on her good side.

So he had decided to send a message and inform her where he was. If she was really desperate, she could just go visit him, right? And after drafting the message, he threw it to the nearest disciple around him and asked him to immediately activate the Royal Portal and pass the message to the fat cat.

He had lightly noticed that it was Krakus, his rather arrogant disciple and a Crown Prince of an extremely powerful Universe Empire, who had received the task. He had thought for a moment that it might not be a good idea. But still, he dismissed the issue and chose to focus on continuing to organize the search party.

He had a good feeling that he would be able to find a large number of Scions of Zegaro and Perses in the area, and he was feeling rather excited about it.

But it turned out that his little mistake would cost him the opportunity of sending his own people to be the fat cat's disciple!

For the longest time. he had wanted to harness the power of luck, and had tried to recruit the fat cat many, many times. However, she just laughed in his face every single time and refused.

Next, he had tried to send several of his best disciples to her, asking her to take them on, or at the very least, pick one to be her disciple. He knew that one of her desires was to have a disciple so that she could pass down her vast accumulations. And he had thought that if he couldn't have her to help him, then at least having her disciples that could wield the power of luck wasn't such a bad thing either.

However, those talented disciples of his with unimaginably bright futures ahead of them had ended up spending many long years as her private servants! Doing menial stuff, wasting their precious prime years without learning anything. It was frustrating!

How could a God be found in such a difficult situation dealing with a mere cat?!

And now, because of the idiotic Krakus, a situation had developed where the fat cat somehow ended up with a very suitable candidate to be her disciple. A candidate that was not under his control!

"Look at your magnificent example of a disciple! If my disciple could be half as good and kind and polite and charming as him, I would be really gratified. You're such a great teacher." Fluff-fluff patted Magius's arm with a sincere kitty smile.

Magius scowled lightly.

"I do not think she should be your disciple just yet. We need to determine how she came to have such power and see if we can recreate the conditions that led to its formation." Magius said sternly.

"Ah pooh. You can go determine that yourself. Isn't Symphonia and its experimental planets under your full control? Just grab their database and find out exactly what they dumped into this particular planet that caused the birth of such a powerful person! You don't need my precious disciple to do that." Fluff-fluff said, feeling rather annoyed at Magius's lack of support.

Magius did not miss how Fluff-fluff had already started calling Aleyria 'my precious disciple'. He sighed internally and decided that he needed to exert himself a little bit more.

"For the sake of the universe, I will need to detain this young lady for a while and find out exactly how she got her power." Magius said firmly in a voice that brooked no objections.

"No you will not!" Fluff-fluff snapped at him angrily.

However, before they could continue their argument, a deep and dark energy suddenly fell upon them.
