Summary:

The standard issue weapon of an Imperial Army infantry man, the V-17 Widowmaker Musket has since become synonymous with 'Drussian Weapon Design' and it has since become rare to see an Imperial Army Corps to not be armed with at least a few hundred V-17s even with the advent of more advanced weapons.

Reliable and consistent yet still cheap and easy to mass-produce, the V-17 is a strict upgrade from its older counterparts, even when including the original experimental 'breachloading' prototype pistols of which only five were ever produced for five very specific people.

Ever since the establishment of the Imperium of Drussia, a large majority of Drussian provinces were geared towards a 'war economy,' and as such, the production of higher quality muskets while still meeting the required production count within a specific timeframe soon became a possibility.

While the V-17 is by no means the most advanced and powerful nor the most consistent and reliable weapon within the arsenal of the Imperial Army, its cheap and replaceable nature made it stand out as the bread and butter of any contemporary Drussian army.

After all, it was not the weapon itself that kills, but the man holding it.
