Chapter 445 - Mia's Bachelorette's Party (1)

Name:Accident Prone Author:RedSonia
Angela thought about Mia's words and she wondered if Mia is talking about romance opportunities in general, or if she has someone on her mind. And then Angela remembered...

During the rehearsal dinner, Angela's senses were focused on Derek but she also noticed that Roberto was extra-attentive toward her. At that time, Angela was not sure if Roberto acts like that with everyone, or she had a special treatment, but it was undeniable that Roberto focused on Angela most of that evening.

"Is this about Roberto?"

Mia shrugged. "No one knows what the future brings. That is why you should keep your eyes open so that you don't miss the important things. Sometimes happiness comes when we least expect it. Don't give up on yourself, that was all I wanted to say."

Mia reached to the side and grabbed two glasses of wine. She offered one to Angela.

Angela accepted the wine and paused when she considered the fact that she is underage. "Is it OK for me to have this? I mean… my twenty-first birthday is in two months."

Mia leaned closer and whispered: "I won't tell anyone if you don't."

Mia clinked her glass with Angela's and downed her drink.

"Do you know how many calories are in that glass of wine!?", Sabrina shouted at Mia.

Mia rolled her eyes and shouted back: "Get off my case, Rina! Because of you, I'm starving, and now I shouldn't drink either? Do you want me to marry your brother, or to die of starvation first?"

Sabrina giggled. "You are not starving. It's called a diet! And you are doing it because of the wedding dress you selected! Hold on for one more day…"

Mia stood up and opened up her bathrobe, revealing her body that had only panties on. "Look at me, only skin and bones!" Mia cupped her breasts. "There will be nothing to jiggle when Hunter shakes me up after the wedding!"

Sabrina grimaced. "That is my brother you are talking about! I don't want to hear about him shaking you up!"

"And I don't want to hear about the calorie count! I'm sick of it!" Mia stomped to the side table that held an array of elegantly displayed bite-sized snacks. "Look! I will eat this shrimp roll and have another glass of wine! What can you do about it?"

Angela shook her head at the banter between Sabrina and Mia and then looked at the glass in her hand. Well, it is a party, and her twenty-first birthday will be soon so… She took a sip, and then one more, and another one… and Angela thought that this might be her Cinderella-night because she is getting all spruced up and she will look glamorous and who knows, maybe she ends up meeting her prince charming.

The day passed in a good mood with a lot of laughter as the girls moved from the spa treatments to styling.

All eight ladies were spruced up with fancy hairstyles, makeup, and dresses that compliment their body style while allowing for free movement (because girls are going dancing after dinner!).

Angela admired herself in the full-body mirror. She never looked so good!

Her golden-brown hair was lifted into a bun, and few curled strands fell around her ears. The smoky eyes were done with a dark blue shadow which accentuated her hazel eyes, and her lips shimmered in deep pink color. The short-sleeved dark blue dress hugged her full chest, revealing her cleavage with a V-neck opening just enough to tease; the thin belt accentuated her narrow waist, and a high slit allowed her finely sculpted left leg to peek out as she moved. The black pumps made her look taller and slimmer, and it all came with a set of golden necklace, bracelet, and earrings.

Angela felt like Cinderella after she met the fairy godmother, and she could not believe that she gets to keep all these! Ah, it's good to be rich!

Her nails were shiny, and her skin was smooth, and she smelled super-nice. Angela wondered how much Liz paid for all this fancy experience, considering that all eight of them got a celebrity treatment. If someone asked her to walk the red carpet, Angela was ready!

Angela smiled at herself while striking poses in front of the mirror and imagining paparazzi flashing their cameras at her.

"You are stunning!", Grace said. "It's good we have security because you will need it when the guys see you on the dancefloor."

Angela paused. Suddenly, she wondered if this is too much. What if she gets some unwanted attention? Derek was all over her and she wore plain jeans and a shirt. How would he react if he sees her like this?

Angela shook those thoughts away. Why did she think about him? Derek is somewhere drinking and partying with guys and even if he sees her, he will not think of more than a hookup.

When they exited the dressing room, the girls were greeted by Zack (aka the official wedding photographer), who was ready to shoot photos of eight glamorous ladies.

He instructed them how to stand and what poses to strike, and all eight of them looked like divas.

Bri gave Zack her phone. "Snap a few of me, so I can send it to Q."

Zack indulged her request, only to see seven more phones directed his way. Every girl wanted photos for her private collection, and to share with friends and family. After all, they don't dress up like this every day.

Dinner was in a fancy restaurant, and Liz secured them a private room so that they can relax and chat without worrying that someone might overhear them or disturb them in any way. Max ensured that security is in front of their door and only verified servers were allowed inside, while all the food was inspected before being taken out of the kitchen. Fabricio's men were at every exit of the restaurant, just in case.

The dessert was served when the door of the private room opened.

"Hey, I thought no guys are allowed at this party!", Bri protested when she saw Ashton entering and she craned her neck to see if Quentin was there, but Ashton was on his own.

Sabrina smiled at her husband. "Ash is not just any guy. He is my husband, here to pick me up."

"You are really ditching us now?", Grace asked Sabrina.

"Don't call it ditching when I spent most of the day with you. I am a happily married woman with an infant at home, and I can't afford the night of drinking and dancing, and not to feel guilty about it. It is nothing personal, but I will spend the rest of the evening with my two favorite guys."

Ashton walked to Angela. "I know that you have a room booked for tonight in a hotel, but if you want to come home, just give me a call. Anytime."

Angela smiled at Ashton and she hoped that he won't notice that two glasses of wine she had so far got her buzzed. He is a good big brother, but sometimes his overprotectiveness is a fun-killer. "Don't worry about me, Ash. If I want to come early, I will call a cab."

Ashton nodded in approval. "As long as you don't ask some random scoundrel to drop you off, it will be fine."

Angela didn't want to comment on this. Why would she take a ride with a random scoundrel?

"Hey, hey…", Mia called while looking at Ashton. "Do you think we will let Angela leave with just anyone?"

Brianna giggled. "We will make sure he is handsome."

"And rich!", Olivia said cheekily.

"With a good career!", Andrea added.

Ashton's frown was deepening by the second.

"Relax…", Sabrina said while hooking her arm with Ashton's. "They are messing with you. It's a girl-only party and they will all end up passed out from alcohol in a hotel suite."

Ashton looked at Sabrina in disbelief. "Is that supposed to make me feel better?" He looked at Angela. "Don't drink recklessly… On second thought, you can come back home with us now. Most of the party is done anyway."

Sabrina stifled a laugh and tugged him toward the door while waving at the girls. "I hope you have fun, and we will see you all at the wedding tomorrow!"

"Are you sure we should leave Angie with them?", Ashton's voice drifted into the room before the door closed behind him and Sabrina.

And with that, their group of eight ladies got reduced to seven.

"Your brother means well.", Mia said to Angela who was still looking at the door, as if she feared that Ashton will return to snatch her. "I don't have a brother, but if I did, I would like him to be just like Ash."

"What about Roberto?", Angela asked Mia, reminding her that she has a half-brother.

"Oh, he does not count.", Mia said with a giggle and refilled Angela's glass with wine. "Drink up. This goes good with black forest cake."

Angela touched her cheeks that were slightly flushed and hot from the wine she had so far. "I'm afraid it will be too much."

"Don't worry!", Liz exclaimed. "We will dance off this alcohol in no time, so that we can drink more when we get into the suite!"

All girls raised their glasses to this, Angela included.

Angela had no idea how this day will end, but for the last two weeks, everything was reminding her of Derek, and she was overthinking the smallest things, and she was troubled. Enjoying an evening with girls sounded like a great idea and she told herself to relax and follow the flow because six ladies that are with her at the table definitely know how to party.

Angela looked like a million bucks, and she decided to have fun and shake off all unpleasant thoughts. At least for tonight.
