“This fucking sun, I’m going to become an Arabic man soon!”

Sitting atop an electric motorbike and cruising along a full street in the City of Dong Hai, Ling Chen grumbled curses repeatedly to himself under his breath.

At the back of the motorbike were four bold red words: East City Express Delivery.

If not for the thought of the rent for next month that was still looming over his head, Ling Chen could not wait to quit his stupid job.

“Regal Villa, this is the place.”

Ling Chen looked at the street sign and turned on his signal light to change lane.

DI! DIDIIII!

Suddenly, a blaring car horn sounded. Ling Chen swept a glance at his surroundings and saw a pristine white Maserati race past the lane that he was about to turn into, nearly flattening the motorbike and him along with it. The experience left him pale and breaking out in cold sweat. Luckily, he had fast reflexes and managed to evade in time; else even if the Maserati managed to brake, death would be his only outcome.

Seeing the trail of vapour that the Maserati left as it sped into the villa, Ling Chen felt a surge of anger in his heart. He had almost lost his miserable little life, but the bastard didn’t even stop to apologise.

“Bastard! What’s so great about being rich?!” A string of foul curses left Ling Chen’s mouth and he even darkly hoped that the driver’s child would be born blind in the future.

“Regal Villa No. 118… hmm, this is the place alright.”

Ling Chen faced the grand gates of the villa and stopped his motorbike. He reached into the boot of his bike to retrieve a meter-long parcel that was wrapped in brown paper and strolled towards the villa.

Passing through the gates, he was greeted by rows of million-dollar luxury cars.

Amongst them, a white Maserati was particularly eye-catching.

“Isn’t that the piece of junk that almost killed me just now?”

Ling Chen instantly recognised the license plate of the Maserati and thought to himself. Truly enemies meet on a narrow path! I’ll teach the owner a good lesson later!

“Ding Dong!”

He rang the doorbell and waited until the villa’s door opened and a fifty-ish middle-aged man appeared in front of Ling Chen.

“Can I help you?” The man had a tense face, and his tone was curt and unfriendly as if he couldn’t wait to kick Ling Chen out.

“I have a parcel here for Nanrong Yong, can I get him to sign for it?”

Nanrong Yong was a compound surname; one would rarely see this kind of surname nowadays.

“Pass the parcel to me.”

“You are Nanrong Yong?”

“I am his head steward.”

Listening to his reply, Ling Chen then slowly shook his head. “Then I’m sorry, I’m afraid I can’t hand this parcel to you. The client specifically requested us to open the parcel in front of him in person as it is a very precious item.”

The middle-aged steward seemed to hesitate for a moment, before stepping aside. “You can come in then.”

Walking into the villa Ling Chen found, to his astonishment, that several guests filled the living room, both male and female alike. They were broken up into a few groups and engaged in frenzied discussions, their faces looking rather ugly.

“Uncle Liu, who is that person?”

As a melodious voice floated over, Ling Chen turned his head to look at the source, and his gaze instantly started to gleam.

The girl had an angelic oval face, and her pale white skin glistened like snow under the soft sunlight. Her lustrous black hair tumbled past her waist and she was wearing a white blouse, which did little to conceal the black bra beneath. She was wearing a denim skirt, and a pair of long and slender legs peeked out from underneath.

This pair of legs was the Golden ratio; porcelain-white and glistening like a crystal, even the top leg models in the world would find it hard to match up to her legs.

Hehe, this is top-grade goods!

Bearing the brunt of Ling Chen’s lustful gaze, the long-legged beauty’s face instantly frosted over, and a hint of malicious intent flashed through her eyes. The thing she detested most in this world was having others turn their lecherous gaze on her.

“Young Miss, he said he was entrusted with an important delivery which had to be opened in front of Old Master in person.”

Dissatisfied, the long-legged beauty complained, “Uncle Liu, it’s not like you do not know Grandpa’s condition. How is he in any state to meet with outsiders now?” Saying this, she turned her gaze on Ling Chen and haughtily said, “Everyone here is a relative of my grandfather; you can just open the parcel in front of all of us.”

Ling Chen couldn’t care less; after all, everyone here was Nanrong Yong’s family members. I don’t think the client would have any issues with his family opening the parcel, right?

Thinking of this point, he deftly tore off the tape which was sealing it and took out the contents of the parcel.

After removing the bubble wrap covering the object, an ancient-looking clock immediately caught the attention of everyone in the room.

Ling Chen was instantly stunned. To think the parcel contained such a thing inside!

Sending a clock… meant to send one to his demise!

Fuck, isn’t this too despicable, isn’t he cursing his family members to die?

Coming to his senses, Ling Chen glanced around to observe the reactions of the people in the room. Indeed, as he thought, the faces of everyone were gloomy and imposingly dark. They were about to erupt with rage at any moment.

“What bastard would send this type of thing?!” A youth that was sporting a flat-top glared at Ling Chen and fumed.

“How would I know that? I’m just the delivery guy.” Ling Chen helplessly shrugged his shoulders.

At that moment, a doctor, wearing a white coat, hurriedly walked down the staircase and solemnly said, “Old Master’s condition seems to have worsened again.”

The complexion of everyone present instantly blanched.

“You bastard, this is all your fault!” The flat-top youth instantly let out a scream of rage and angrily threw a punch towards Ling Chen’s face, wanting to vent all his anger and grievances on Ling Chen.

What? Ling Chen had no other words to describe the situation. He wasn’t even the one who sent the clock!

As the youth’s fist came barreling towards his face, Ling Chen deftly side-stepped his punch, and at the same time, he grabbed onto the youth’s wrist and lightly flicked his own wrist. The youth instantly lost his centre of gravity and came crashing down to the ground.

“How dare you raise your fists against others?” The onlookers grew enraged and started shouting at him, designating him as public enemy number one.

“He was the one who made the first move. This matter has nothing to do with me, so why are you finding trouble with me?”

“This all your fault, you bastard! Men, send him to his death!” The flattop youth painfully roused himself to his feet and resentfully gave the command.

Instantly, around seven or eight bodyguards dashed into the house, as though they had been waiting for the command.

Ling Chen wanted to turn at leave at this moment, but he had yet to receive the payment for the express delivery. If he returned empty-handed, his boss would definitely dock it from his pay.

Initially, the matter had nothing to do with him, why did he need to make himself suffer like that? But then again, Ling Chen was never a person to bear a loss gracefully.

The bodyguards surrounding him were menacingly glowering at him.

Looking at them Ling Chen could only wistfully rub his nose. He did not see any of them as a threat!

“Beat him up!”

Two bodyguards coordinated their attacks and pincered him from two sides, wanting to cuff Ling Chen’s arms and compromise his ability to resist them.

However, Ling Chen just disregarded their attacks, merely sending a kick over at them. His actions were extremely swift, leaving his opponents with nearly no time to react.

“Ow!”

A bodyguard clutched his stomach in pain and let out a miserable wail, before collapsing to his knees, sweat drenching his forehead.

“Everyone, go together!”

Seeing Ling Chen’s prowess, the other bodyguards did not dare to underestimate him any longer and instantly banded together and launched another organised attack.

Ling Chen merely shrugged his shoulders. These people were too useless, almost to the point of making him want to stop doing anything.

With a few swift moves, he quickly rendered the several bodyguards helpless and groaning painfully on the ground.

The onlookers in the living room were stunned with disbelief. It was an eight to one, yet the eight were defeated so miserably.

“Anyone else?” Ling Chen glanced at the stunned crowd, before deftly retrieving an invoice from his pocket, and carefreely said: “If there is no one else, then please sign on this and pay the delivery fee. By the way, it’s a hundred and sixty dollars… Huh? ”

Before he could finish speaking, he raised a brow and suddenly felt a strong gust of wind rushing towards him. As he quickly scanned his surroundings, he found that the steward who had just opened the door for him had stretched out five fingers and quickly clawed at him.

As the gust rushed towards him, Ling Chen did not exclaim his surprise but merely threw out a punch of his own. A vigorous inner strength was instantly transmitted across his fist and forced him to take two steps back.
