1292 You Love Me

It was Gu Jinxiu, dressed in a gown and appearing shocked. She could not believe what she'd just heard—Xia Yingluo actually said that Wei Lingnan was an alien, and Wei Lingnan didn't deny it. Were they kidding or for real, was this just a joke? Logic told Gu Jinxiu that this must be a prank, but a small voice from the bottom of her heart went: What if it's true?

What was Wei Lingnan trying to make her recall from the dream?

Recently, Gu Jinxiu had been having dreams too, about a mysterious purple planet. It wasn't very clear what was going on in her dreams, and she wasn't able to remember much of it. Yet, she always felt like she was one of them, that she was part of the alien community, experiencing their every emotion.

Was this what Wei Lingnan was trying to get Xia Yingluo to recall?

Gu Jinxiu thought she must be going mad, how could she put these two separate matters together? But Xia Yingluo's conversation with Wei Lingnan was shocking, and this dream had been bothering her as well, so it was no surprise that she speculated a connection between these.

She shook her head. How could she think of something so ridiculous? This was just a coincidence.

Did aliens even exist?

But Wei Lingnan kept more secrets than she'd expected. Regarding the Wei family business, their vast resources and advanced technology, there had to be a reason Wei Lingnan kept it so secretive… all of these riddles were awaiting her. What she could be sure of was that Xia Yingluo knew more about Wei Lingnan than she did. Hence, Wei Lingnan was less guarded against her. Gu Jinxiu couldn't help but wonder, would she have a chance to get him back from Xia Yingluo if she knew more about him?

This thought wavered in her head.

She made a call to the private investigator she'd had connections with for a long time. "Investigate the relationship between Xia Yingluo and Wei Lingnan thoroughly, from their first words since they met, to the places they've gone, the people they've met, everything."

Her eyes gleamed as she hung up.

She heard Wei Lingnan and Xia Yingluo mention a name, Ah Luo. Who exactly was Ah Luo? It sounded like Wei Lingnan had special feelings for this Ah Luo. If she managed to figure out her identity, she'd be able to make good use of it.

She hurriedly made another phone call. This time, it was to get the PI to investigate "Ah Luo".

Xia Yingluo barely paid attention to the piano concert performance. She'd been all excited to attend this show, but after what had happened, she was in confusion.

Wei Lingnan sent her home after the concert ended. She bade him farewell and returned to her dorm in the training camp.

Jin Ling'er was waiting for her in the dorm and quickly jumped to her feet when she returned. "Yingluo, how was it, did you enjoy the date with Wei Lingnan? Was the concert good?"

Xia Yingluo wasn't the least bit enthusiastic. "It's alright."

Jin Ling'er looked at her oddly. "You don't seem too happy. Ah, what happened to your clothes?" She'd just realized that Wei Lingnan's coat was draped over her shoulders, and beneath it was a modified gown.

Xia Yingluo wasn't in the mood to talk about the encounter that night. "Maybe we aren't compatible."

Jin Ling'er finally understood what the issue was. "Yingluo, what happened? Did he bully you?"

Xia Yingluo smiled sadly. Well, he was always bullying her. She had no idea what got into her that made her agree to be his girlfriend. But this was the outcome. "It's fine, let's sleep." She got into bed quietly.

Jin Ling'er couldn't get anything more out of her. She had no choice but to crawl into bed with a head full of questions and turn off the lights.

The following day, the performing cast rehearsed as per normal.

Xia Yingluo went through a few scenes with the male actor taking the alien's character. She wasn't in good form today, and they had to run through a few takes. She apologized. "I'm sorry, I'm not doing very well today."

The male actor smiled kindly and teased. "That's alright, it's not easy dating an alien!"

She felt her heart skip a beat, as if someone had seen through her.

She looked up at the male actor, only to realize that he wasn't being serious at all. He went on mumbling to himself, "I've been wondering, if an alien gets together with a human being on Earth, it should take a long time to get used to each other's lifestyles, cultures and all that. Just like you and me, it's only normal that we have hiccups during rehearsals. If everything went smoothly from the beginning, something would really be wrong."

Xia Yingluo said, "Thank you for comforting me."

She couldn't stop thinking about Wei Lingnan. Everything that happened last night, was it all because of cultural differences? No, it was a personality clash, that man was just too hot-tempered.

She was still caught up with her thoughts when someone called out from outside. "Yingluo, someone's looking for you."

She looked up and saw Wei Lingnan.

That man was still in his usual white shirt and appeared a little mysterious standing in the shade. He looked at her Xia Yingluo quietly, his eyes unreadable, with a bouquet in his hands.

Xia Yingluo was looking at him too.

Someone smiled at the side. "Wei Lingnan, you're here to see Yingluo?"

Wei Lingnan said to Xia Yingluo, "These flowers are for you."

There were dew beads on the pretty white flowers, they were beautiful.

"Flowers from Galaxy Florist again," an expert said. "Yingluo, you're so lucky."

Xia Yingluo wanted to decline it, but she didn't want to argue with him in front of her classmates. "Let's go out."

When they'd found a secluded place, she looked up at Wei Lingnan. "I've said it yesterday, I want to break up with you. Please stop giving me flowers."

Wei Lingnan looked at her. "You're still mad at me? I'm here especially to apologize."

Xia Yingluo shook her head. "I'm not angry with you. I just think we aren't compatible."

"Give me some time," Wei Lingnan said. "Although I've been on Earth for many years, I've never had a relationship with any girl here, and I have no idea how to date a human girl. Humans are too sensitive and fragile."

He'd overheard the conversation between Xia Yingluo and the male lead when he was standing outside, and this was a pretty good excuse.

As he'd guessed, Xia Yingluo was already showing signs of hesitation despite her shaking her head.

Wei Lingnan looked at her tenderly. "You love me."
