60 Traitor to Humanity

Micah continued to hold his arrogant expression, but the image was completed ruined by the piss stain on his pants. The smell was slightly nauseating, and even his sister kept her distance.

Despite his arrogance he still listened to my orders, and followed behind the rest of the group acting as a rear guard. I had Hylia sit on Sierra's shoulder. Both of them were uncomfortable with it, but it allowed for a better defense.

I used my stealth to scout ahead. My telepathic bond with Hylia was actually of great use, as I could communicate with her what I saw. Unfortunately she was unable to relay the information to the others. If we kept the bond when she evolved, which I was sure that we would, it would become a great tactical advantage.

The labirynth itself would have been a pain to navigate if it had not been for the minimap. When I expressed this to Hylia she told me that most do not have that function. The map was unique to visitors. My library was linked with my natural talent [Gift of Tongues], and was something that only I had. This became even more apparent as I noticed Sierra kept a leather bound spell book strapped to her side.

Speaking of my library, when I evolved the storage had raised to 10 books, but I still only had 2 stored. This was something that I would have to fix in the future. I had not had enough time to truly investigate the literature of this world. Perhaps after the battle I would build upon my collection.

The next group of monsters I came across was in a pair of two. I noticed their red dots on my map before I approached the room. Inside I saw a pair of minotaurs. One of them wielded a giant axe, while the other had a staff. It seemed that these minotaurs could be wizards as well.

I silently returned to the group, leaving stealth abruptly in front of them. My sudden appearance caused Micah to jump, but Sierra did not seem fazed at all. She seemed to adjust well to any changes that occurred. Or perhaps I was over thinking it, because Hylia had also jumped on to my shoulder before I appeared. Maybe she was just observant.

Speaking of Hylia she had been acting strange ever since the appearance of the elves. She seemed to be acting both more territorial and cautious. She had been on edge, and did not like leaving my side. When I asked her about it she only stated that something was off about the elves, but could not tell me what it was.

I quickly told them about the Minotaurs ahead of us, and we deliberated on a plan. I was used as a mouth piece for Hylia, as she could not communicate with the others.

Eventually we decided on a plan. I would keep the mage busy while the other three focused on the warrior. Micah would act as a tank, but Hylia would back him up as needed. Her arrows were a natural thing. and could be shot at any range without difficulty. Sierra would back them up with her fire magic.

The plan was simple, but before it could actually take place Micah decided to act on his own as he charged towards the mage. The mage responded quickly, its staff glowing in a bright light as a large icicles began to form. They shot outwards, but not a single one was aimed at Micah, rather all of them shot towards the three of us.

Sierra was quick to respond as she cast a wall of fire. The icicles stood no chance against their natural weakness, and soon melted into oblivion.

I manicial laughter could be heard from the other side of the fire wall. The voice that sounded was Micah's, but was tinged with madness.

"Disgusting Dark Elf It's time for you to die. The great God Ishra had demanded it, so it must happen. SIERRA get out of the way, and become a host to ISHRA's greatness."

Sierra looked completely dumbfounded as she stared through the flames. The wall had already begun to fade, and the person before her no longer resembled her brother. His once attractive features had been severely warped, his appearance now resembling the mixture of an elf and a mantis.

"Brother" She screamed "What have you done?"

Micah laughed, his voice becoming fanatical.

"That useless goddess Eliondra refused to help us. She refused to help as that disgusting human defiled our mother, causing the birth of such an abomination as yourself. But the great god ISHRA listened and he gave me power. Power to stop that disgusting man from interfering with our lives."

His insane laughter filled the room. He flexed his newly formed scythe like right arm as he stared at us.

"The great god has demanded the death of those two. Who knew that I would have the luck to be paired with them. Join me sister, we shall kill these two scum and raise to great heights with the great god."

Sierra did not hesitate as she looked at the abomination before her. "You have sacrificed your humanity for this? You killed my father because of this?" She spit on the ground before you. "Our mothers love for him was pure. You just could never get over how your father abandoned you because of your lack of ability in magic. I will never join you brother. I will never abandon my humanity."

The creature that had once been Micah before us only shook his head. "Then prepare to die you filthy half blood."
