Chapter 64: The Capital Tournament (1)

After handing the stinky slime bottles towards Leisha, both Mana and I together with Leisha went together with the red-haired girl as we started our short explanation of what had happened; it was a simple, short recollection of everything, starting from the request to when we simply wandered around and found the slime. Of course, we kept the system hidden since it is a secret matter.

“I see… though to think that an Evolved Stinky Slime appeared at such a place is unbelievable, but at the same time, it is undeniable that what is inside those bottles contains twice if not tens as much of mana than a normal slime…”

It certainly is unbelievable how an evolved stinky slime would appear in such a beginner place but then again, a beginner place is called a beginner one because it is being constantly cleared out by many veterans to keep the place as safe as possible for many newcomers to experience.

“Do you perhaps know what kind of herbs they usually eat, or what are the herbs that could be eaten by the slime in the forest?” I inquired before she shook her head in response.

“No one has a proper understanding of what they eat to become stinky, otherwise, we would definitely be producing our own slimes though we do know what kind of herbs that can be eaten by slimes, and even the fruits that are edible to them,” she answered before looking at the forest as she continued.

“For the herbs, the slimes could eat anything from Aloe Leaves to Klein Grass which are the most common herbs in the forest, as for the fruits, it is a different story since the only fruits the slimes could possibly eat are durio… huh?”

I see, then that pretty much answers the question of why these slimes stink so much. According to the original Solis VR system, an infinite possibility of slimes could be created by feeding them different mixes of foods. If a slime eats Aloe Leaves which has the highest healing property for a common herb and eats Durio which is stinky but at the same time has a quantifiable amount of healing then it should turn into a stinky slime… or should I say, a healing slime.

“I see now… for now, the Guild will investigate the herbs and the fruits that are usually found in the forest. Do you three want any more follow-ups from our investigations?” she questioned before both Mana and me along with Leisha shook our heads.

“For now, the three of us don’t really have much to do with any information about the slime. It would be better if the Guild were to utilize it to bring our understanding more about slimes, in general,” Mana responded before the red-haired girl nodded as she took out a pouch and a certificate.

“Anyhow, since I am here… how about we mark your current quest complete and the three of you could go about your days, is that fine?” she said while looking at us.

Both Mana and I turned towards Leisha who was the requestor, and responding to our stares, she soon nodded, taking out her side of the request while we took ours before the red-haired girl who was known as the infamous Fiery Little Guild Master, Shirley stamped our papers.

After stamping our papers, she soon handed us a certificate and a pouch filled with gold coins as she said, “This is an extra reward from the guild for defeating a potential threat to the city, I do not know how the two of you can breach the slime’s intense smelly defense that makes projectiles bounce back and even weapons bend but every adventurer has their own secrets and so I won’t ask.”

“All I want to see is that the three of you growing further and becoming a party that exceeds many. The same wish I want to see to all adventurers,” she smiled before waving her hand as she said, “And so, I will head off for now. If you have any more questions, feel free to head to the Guild and simply find me. Enjoy your day!”

After waving her hand, her body soon burst into flames, leaving nothing as her figure vanished from the scene, reappearing at the entrance again with a massive explosion of flames which was quite an interesting way of moving around. It was the signature movement spell of the Guild Master which just like every high-level people, is unique.

For example, Aurora’s signature movement spell is simply blending into the shadows or turning into the wind, which is also inheritable by any Queenshelm member, including me… it is the same one I use which involves holding off your breath for the entire duration of running. It’s hard to explain the technique though and many would die trying.

“Well, are you still going to make the potions here or do you want to make it at the residence?” Mana looked at Leisha and asked.

“I could make it at my own house in the city… but the house is a bit small,” Leisha smiled wryly as Mana patted her shoulders before offering.

“You can do it at our residence, the garden should be large enough for you to do it there, right?”

In response, Leisha nodded as the two of them stared at one another for a second as if telepathically speaking to each other before a loud growl came from none other than Flora who had a cheeky pout on her cheeks.

“Mwama! When can Flowa eat boar?!” she cried while pinching Mana’s cheeks as she rode on her back.

“You can eat them together with your friends later, just be obedient!” Mana pinched back Flora’s cheeks, deflating the cute puff on the little deer girl’s cheeks as Mana placed her down from her back, lifting her up once more but this time, no longer piggybacking her.

It was the usual position that Flora usually is carried on, the usual seat on Mana’s arm and with the usual seat, comes with the usual resting position. Flora’s head immediately buried onto Mana’s shoulders, snuggling onto her as she looked at me and squinted her eyes with a smile.

“How about we head back, for now, we still have to prepare dishes and repair the guest room that this little disobedient child destroyed. We also have to prepare the extra bed for the guest room since Flora’s cute friends will be sleeping over if there is no problem.”

“That sounds tiring…” I complained as she smiled satirically before she looked at Leisha who was quiet for the most part.

“We also still have to prepare another bed in our room though, since our only guest room would be occupied and a certain rabbit cannot sleep,” Mana suddenly said as Leisha turned towards us surprised, blushing as she shook her head in rapid motion.

“I can just sleep on my house…!” she was about to rebuke only to be silenced by Mana who has this domineering attitude almost like the master of a harem. I felt a bit surprised but shook my head, simply sighing.

“For now, how about we head back?” I suggested before the two of them nodded while Mana grabbed my right hand and smiled as we headed back towards the city with a certain little deer girl singing her beautiful and scary song.

“Booooaaaaarrrr, booaaarr! Where are the booooarsss…!”

- In a certain office –

“What do you mean… The competition is going to be moved to the capital?!” a certain brown-haired lady complained, slamming her hands on her table as the elderly man nodded.

“The council has said that they wish to hold the competition in the capital within a week from now, it seems like the contestants will either have to start moving today or we could use the portal…” the elderly man said as the brown-haired lady sighed.

“If they had announced it a month ago, I would be more accepting since we would be able to prepare ahead of time… but haaaa… is it fine if we use the portal?” the brown-haired lady looked at the elderly man who was nodding.
