Chapter 18:A vulgar has appeared

After hearing this, Renae smirked. She was mature enough to not let something small like this upset her. "Alright then, why don't we ask the man himself? Matthew tell us, with much honesty, do you belong to Min?" Renae asked, her smile so sickeningly sweet, one could get diabetes just staring at her. Min's attention switched to Matthew. She had an extremely flamboyant expression as she looked at Matthew. Matthew, on the other hand, was getting very much annoyed. He was getting stolen by this clingy and vulgar girl yet Renae didn't seem to care?

"Isn't it obvious? Right now, I belong to myself. Whoever said I belonged to someone? Huh?" Matthew asked, ruthlessly glaring at Min. "Alright, point taken. Let's go, Matt," Renae said as she grabbed his hand and headed for the door with Kaiden.

Hmpf! Did this average girl just insult her?! How dare this peasant think that she can mess with her? She was definitely going to get her revenge on this stupid girl! Min frowned, standing next to Matthew's desk with her arms crossed. She didn't want to leave, definitely not yet! Min stood there for a while... and a thought came to her. If Matthew liked girls like Renae, then she was going to... pretend to be Renae! This was obviously a very stupid idea... any other less stupid bratty kid would've instead choose to act like Renae rather than to pretend to be her...

A few hours later, the school bell rang. Students were dismissed! Matthew ran to his car, along with Renae, to avoid Min from clinging onto him, while Kaiden strolled out of school, towards his car.

When Renae reached home, she opened her mailbox to find a letter from the police about a lawsuit. Her brows furrowed. What is this? She thought to herself, in a state of confusion. She then received a message from one of the policemen informing her to report to the police station as soon as possible. She started getting worried. Why did she get a lawsuit? What is this all about? Could it be about the case that they just did? Renae called Kaiden to ask if he got the same thing.

"Hey! Did you get the letter and message from one of the policemen?"

"Yeah, I did. I'm heading over there now. You got it too? Do you need a ride there?"

"Yes, thank you. I'm getting a bit nervous as to why we got this letter."

"Same here, but don't worry, we'll be fine... I hope." She hung up the phone afterwards.

Kaiden arrived in a few minutes time. Renae got into the car and Kaiden drove off. Renae was so anxious that she kept quiet the entire ride to the Police station.

Upon arriving at the police station, there was a lady that kind of resembled Larry. She had a red furry coat draped over her shoulders and a turtle-neck white dress under the coat. Along with the outfit were black high heels. A policeman walked out of the station and asked the lady, Kaiden and Renae to follow him into the police station.

They all sat down inside an enclosed room, a different room in which they questioned Larry and Phillip in. The lady introduced herself, "I am Larry's sister, Lana. I'm suing the both of as well as all policemen involved in this incident. This is because the both of you, Kaiden and Renae aren't allowed to help out in this investigation. You are not qualified policemen yet the police allowed the both of you to take part in this investigation. I have the right to sue all of you. And nothing you say will stop me from suing you."

A bunch of information was just thrown at their faces. The reason she was suing them was not at all wrong. They weren't allowed to let unauthorised, especially untrained, people into the investigation. It could've have ended badly, but it didn't.

"If you're so set on it, then fine. We may continue this in the court. I'll see you then!" Renae smiled, her deceitful side completely hidden. Lana smiled back, her smile was instead threatening and gave a sense of danger. Even so, this did not faze Renae. "I won't go easy on you," Lana said as she left the room. Lana was quite surprised that even teens like them accepted it so well. She thought they would refute.

"Are you sure about this? You don't know the amount that she might ask for... In the end, the subject was arrested too, so the amount might be big..." the policeman said, giving them an unsure look.

Renae already had a plan. Her smile from before turned into an evil smirk. She quickly explained her plan to them.

"Alright. Since it's also our fault we let you two join the investigation, we'll get you guys a good lawyer. Do you want ur parents to get involved?" The policeman asked as he pulled out his phone. Both Kaiden and Renae shook their heads. "Thank you, officer. Please don't let our parents know... they'll definitely get worried," Kaiden thanked gratefully.

The policeman told them to stay for a while and wait for the lawyer he hired to arrive. It took some time, but the lawyer eventually came. "Hello, my name is Mr Ng," the lawyer introduced himself. They greeted each other and returned to the original room to continue talking. "May we discuss the problem and reason that caused the other party to want to sue you?" Mr Ng straightforwardly asked. They agreed and the policeman explained the situation at hand to the lawyer.

"Ah... I see. This might be a little hard to get out of..." Mr Ng said as he sat there, deep in thought. "Don't worry, we can easily get proof to refute against Lana's statement. All we need is someone to go undercover for us..." Renae cheekily said. Mr Ng was definitely confused. If it was this easy, how come he couldn't figure it out?

Before they left, Kaiden had to use the toilet. As he entered the bathroom stall, he heard a familiar voice quietly whispering from the stall next to him.

"Renae? Really? And I thought she was smart for having a plan with such a hard problem. She bullied your daughter in school? How can I support her after that? Of course, I'll betray them. Only on the actual day though... it'll definitely trip them up."

Kaiden heard the voice say. From the start, he had realised it was Mr Ng. Since his first word was 'Renae', Kaiden had started to pay extra attention to each word he said. He was fast to understand what was going on and recorded about 3/4 of their conversation. Who else could be on the other side of the line? Of course, it was Min's mum.

Mr Ng left before Kaiden did. He waited a while to ensure Mr Ng was completely gone before leaving the bathroom.
