Chapter 49.3: Really childish, but really cute

Since the last neutering, Ji Mimi and Ji Lin had never really shaken hands and made up.  Although Ji Lin did not hesitate to pay for the most expensive cat food and the best canned cat food, unfortunately Ji Mimi ate, and when he finished eating, he continued to use his butt to face Ji Lin.

Usually when it was Ji Lin’s turn to exercise “custody” rights, he was indifferent to Ji Lin and they did not interact with each other just like a plastic father and son. The only time when Ji Mimi would be nice to Ji Lin was when Bai Duanduan was also present.

Bai Duanduan ate the short end of the stick as she took so many snacks, so naturally she couldn’t refuse the request.  So she took Ji Mimi back to Ji Lin’s house along with all the food.

Fortunately, she didn’t need to do anything, she just had to sit and eat, while Ji Lin followed the orange cat unhurriedly, holding four or five different flavours of canned food in his hand. Although he was still holding a stance and a face, the look that he obviously wanted to please the cat was already evident, but Ji Lin was also stubborn and at this point in time, he refused to put down his stance and coax the cat.

“Can’t you stop being so demure.” Bai Duanduan couldn’t help herself but say, “Can’t you say something nice to Mimi? Once he had a fight with his girlfriend, it would most likely turn into a debate on who was right and who was wrong. The average woman was basically no match for Ji Lin, not only was she on the wrong side of the argument, but she can’t even get any coaxing, so she was afraid such a man as boyfriend won’t last more than a week.

Not long after, Ji Mimi ran to the study, and Ji Lin followed him into the study. Bai Duanduan sat alone in the living room and ate for a while, wanting to go to the bathroom, so she walked all the way to the bathroom.

The layout of the house was such that to get to the bathroom, one had to pass through the study. Bai Duanduan didn’t think much of it and made her way forward. The door to the study was currently hidden and she made her way to the door, then was caught by the sound of voices coming from inside the door.

“Come on, Mimi, it’s my fault, it’s my fault, why don’t you just forgive Daddy? Is that okay? Daddy won’t let you get snatched away by a bad doctor next time, nor will he let you have an operation and get stabbed. Dad is also worried about your operation, but it is for your own good. “

“These cans are all your favourite flavours, I bought a lot of them specially, do you want to eat them? Is it okay to eat them and then forgive Daddy?”

“Mimi? Come on, yes, come slowly over here, yes, eh, let me touch it, that’s good, Mimi is so good.”

Inside the door, accompanied by Mimi’s occasional meowing, was a man’s cold yet gentle, extremely unnatural yet extremely natural voice.

It was Ji Lin’s voice.

When he first spoke, his tone was particularly awkward and uncomfortable, but as time went by and the cat meowed softly, Ji Lin’s voice became more natural and gentler.

Bai Duanduan’s heart pounded as she quietly walked to the door and peered through the doorway into the study, where the overhead light stretched Ji Lin’s shadow. He was still handsome, with a sense of coldness, but not so unreachable. His eyebrows were tinged with tenderness. At the moment, he was reaching out his hand, stroking the orange cat one after another.  The movement was careful and gentle, which turned out to be surprisingly strange and soft and moving.

He said no to coaxing the cat, it was absolutely impossible to coax the cat, but in the end he secretly hid in the study and tried his best to coax the cat. Ji Lin, this person, was really downright duplicitous.

Bai Duanduan wanted to laugh, the feeling that she used to find Ji Lin cute was coming back.

It was really childish, but really cute.

Although his posture of coaxing the cat was stiff and rusty, Ji Mimi seemed to be very receptive to it and was back to rubbing against Ji Lin’s feet all of a sudden, looking like he and Ji Lin were just about to make up.

What an unscrupulous cat.

But for some reason, this image felt quite harmonious and warm, and Bai Duanduan didn’t want to disturb it, so she just gently walked away.

When she returned to the living room after going to the bathroom, Ji Lin was already back in the living room. Ji Mimi had eaten and drunk enough and was lying on the cushion, while Ji Lin was sitting on the side, occasionally rubbing the cat’s head.

Bai Duanduan asked knowingly, “Are you and Mimi getting back together?”

While rubbing the cat, Ji Lin said succinctly, “Yes, not completely, but I think it’s almost done.”

“I told you that coaxing would be enough, right?”

“No.” Ji Lin glanced at Bai Duanduan, “I’m not wrong, why should I coax him. It’s the one who realized its mistake and resumed diplomatic relations with me.”

Ji Lin, Ji Lin, if I hadn’t just seen the way you coaxed the cat, I would have believed you!

Ji Lin: It’s her fault, I won’t coax her.

Ji Lin: Wife, I was wrong, can you forgive me, I bought you the latest limited edition bag, my mother didn’t have it, I just bought it for you.

Bai Duanduan: Then it’s hard to not forgive you.

Ji Lin: Thank you, wife.

The next day:

Rong Sheng: Have you reconciled with Bai Duanduan?

Ji Lin with a look of indifference: Well, she admitted her mistake, so I’ll forget it. I’m a man after all, so I can’t be too fussy.
