Chapter 1288: She Was With Me

Chapter 1288: She Was With Me

Jiang Yuyan didn’t say words and walked towards the patient’s bed where the young man was lying unconscious. Her eyes turned moist seeing him and no word could leave her throat.

“He is fine but needs time to recover completely,” Lu Feng answered her unspoken question.

Feeling choked in her throat and chest, she could only nod, trying to suppress her emotions.

“We will wait outside,” Lu Feng left with Lu Han, leaving Jiang Yuyan alone with Lu Lijun.

Jiang Yuyan sat at the edge of the bed and looked at Lu Lijun. It was all her fault that he was in such a situation but the solution for it was not something she let happen. It was all so wrong and she didn’t know how to make him understand it.

Jiang Yuyan held his hand as she caressed it, “I am sorry. It’s all because of me. I wish we were not like how we are now. I wish if I was gone long back and things wouldn’t have ended up like this,” tears rolled down her eyes. “I am sorry that I will hurt you more before leaving and I only wish you to stay strong. If not, you will never forget me. Don’t even forgive me for hurting you. I will accept all your hate because all I want you to have a happy life unlike me and your brother. With me, you can never have what you deserve in life. WIth me, there is no happiness for you. I can’t even….” she choked, “I can’t give you what you want. Lu Qiang is the only one for me…”

There was no way that the unconscious guy could reply to her. She continued to stay there for a long while staring at him with her teary eyes. Before leaving, Jiang Yuyan leaned down and pecked on his forehead gently as she closed her eyes and the tears from her eyes slipped on his face. She moved back and looked at him, “Stay strong,” and stood up to leave.

Wiping her tears and calming herself down, Jiang Yuyan came out of the room. She looked at Lu Feng who could see through her. Before she could say a word, Lu Feng spoke, “If he asks, I can not lie.”

“Then don’t give him a chance to ask,” Jiang Yuyan countered and left.

Lu Feng and Lu Han could only look at her retreating back. Lu Han sighed, “I don’t know what to do with these two. No one would give up.”

Lu Feng agreed, “For now we just need to be by his side. Rejection can make one go crazy.”

Lu Mansion.

Lu Lian reached home with Ming Rusheng. She stepped out of the car keeping her heart in check as was nervous to face her family. She was out the entire night, without telling them about her whereabouts and now Ming Rusheng took her back home, it was clear that she was with him.

They entered the living room where Elder Lu was talking with his two sons and Grandma was sitting next to him as the new baby and mother accompanied them. They all were busy admiring Lu Bao’s baby girl when they saw Lu Lian entering the living room with Ming Rusheng.

Lu Lian smiled teasingly at her sister who looked nervous to her bones while Ming Rusheng was as usual calm and cold. Lu Jinhai looked at his daughter and then at Ming Rusheng. If Ming Rusheng was not with her, he would have straightaway questioned his daughter about why she was out of home for so long but now he could only respect her in front of the guest. Though Ming Rusheng was a nice man and they initially had a plan to marry them off and after his accident, everyone had already accepted them, the father inside him could not stop feeling worried about his daughter.

“Ming Rusheng,” Elder Lu called him, “Good to see you here. Have a seat.”

Ming Rusheng greeted everyone and sat on the sofa while Lu Lian prepared to keep standing as she had no guts to face her father who didn’t look happy about everything.

Just then Ning Jiahui, who came to the living room with Su Hui while discussing the things inside the home, saw her daughter finally home but could not see the man sitting on the sofa as her view was blocked.

“Finally, you are home, Lian. Where were you?” Ning Jiahui asked, only to get an answer from someone else.

“She was with me, aunt Jiahui.”

It surprised Ning Jiahui as she looked at the source of the voice. She felt awkward and didn’t know what to say further.

Ming Rusheng looked at elder Lu, “Grandpa, Lian and I are together and we love each other. Last night the situation arose that we had to be away.”

“Hmm, that old man wong already told me you were at his home,” Elder Lu added intentionally to answer it before others could ask Ming Rusheng. Elder Lu knew the whereabouts of his granddaughter then there was nothing to worry about.

“What do you two plan to do next,” Lu Jinhai asked coldly, directly expecting to get an answer from him.

“I plan to marry her if she is ready,” Ming Rusheng replied and everyone looked at Lu Lian who was silent and felt awkward with all the gazes fixed at her.

“I will think about it,” she replied only to get questioning and displeased looks from her parents. “I mean, I want to marry him but not so suddenly. We need to take some time after the incident that happened. Marrying should not be out of compulsion.”

“What do you say, Rusheng,” elder Lu asked.

“As I said, whatever she wishes for,” Ming Rusheng replied firmly, bringing a smile to Lu Lian’s nervous face.

“Didn’t you lose your memory?” Lu Jinhai, the salty father asked.

“They returned long back,” he answered, looking at his future father-in-law.

“So you were playing with my daughter’s emotions,” came the displeased comment from Lu Jinhai.
