Chapter 1281: It Hurts Like Hell

Chapter 1281: It Hurts Like Hell

Meanwhile, after leaving Lu Lijun, Jiang Yuyan went to her home. On the way, she sat quietly in the car while San Zemin looked at her through the rearview mirror. It was clear that she was not fine and had so many things going on in her mind. In a long time, San Zemin never saw her like this- cold and calm but lost and helpless.

“Boss, is everything fine?” San Zemin asked.

“Hmm,” Jiang Yuyan replied and closed her eyes.

San Zemin didn’t ask further as he could see she didn’t wish to say anything. But he was sure it was related to Lu Lijun and something serious must have happened. He had so many questions in mind and wished to solve anything that troubled his boss, but in this matter, he had no say.

The moment Jiang Yuyan closed her eyes, those moments flashed in her mind when she gave into Lu Lijun and kissed him back. Her heartbeats quickened and she opened her eyes in shock. The only thing she could think was, why did I do this? How could I let it happen? And so many questions about her wrong doing.

She reached home and soon after Xiao Min reached there.

“How is he?” Jiang Yuyan asked who was waiting for him.

“Noah took him to his home. He is fine,” Xiao Min informed.

“Did you treat his wound?” she asked.

“He didn’t let me. He just left with Noah.”

Jiang Yuyan gave a light nod and left to go to her room.

San Zemin and Xiao Min were left in the living room.

“Would you like to have a drink?” San Zemin asked.

“Hmm,” Xiao Min, who was worried for his boss, nodded.

They went to Xiao Min’s room where the butler arranged the drinks for them.

Both were silent as they didn’t know what to talk about or where to start as both had nothing but worry for their boss in their minds.

“What are you thinking about?” San Zemin asked.

“I am just worried about the boss and Lu Lijun. Seems like nothing is going in the right way,” Xiao Min replied.

San Zemin nodded, “He should understand that the boss only likes his elder brother and should not pester her.”

Xiao Min looked at him, “Do you already have an idea?”

“Do you think I am blind?”

“Since when?”

“I always knew since he returned but got assurance when that evening I saw them. It didn’t shock me to see them seeing them closer than required.”

Xiao Min clenched his fists, “Did he..did he force her….”

“No.” San Zemin replied, “I think there is finally something that can make her forget about the past and she can be happy….”

“It won’t happen,” Xiao Min interrupted him, “Boss will never accept anyone. She is putting up with him just because she cares about him and can do anything for him.”

“Maybe you are right. I just want them to be happy whether together or away from each other.”

“I hope to see them happy too. But I am scared it won’t happen,” Xiao Min said as he emptied out an entire glass of wine in one shot.

“Take it slow,” San Zemin commented. “We can just support what she will decide.”

Xiao Min nodded and the two continued drinking.

—–

Noah took Lu Lijun to his home where Lu Lijun sat on the couch while staring at the ceiling. Noah brought the first aid box and sat next to Lu Lijun.

Just as he touched Lu Lijun’s hand, he pulled it away.

Noah held it again as she warned, “Stay still.”

Lu Lijun let him do what he wanted and said while staring at the ceiling blankly, “She doesn’t love me at all. Not even a little.”

“She cares for you that’s why she left Mr. Xiao Min to look after you,” Noah countered.

“She is just worried if something happens to me or if I die, how she will fulfill my elder brother’s wish,” Lu Lijun added.

“It’s not the truth….”

“It is…Today…I could have done anything with her but I wished to give her a chance to think about what she was doing… In the end, what I saw in her eyes was a regret…regret of giving into me…there was not a tinge of any kind of feelings for me…It hurts…It hurts like hell…”

Tears rolled down the corner of his eyes as he felt pain deep down in his heart.

Noah could do nothing to help his friend other than just be by his side. He bandaged Lu Lijun’s hurt and brought him a glass of water, “Have this.”

“Leave me alone for a while,” Lu Lijun instructed.

Noah nodded and left after leaving the glass of water on the table.

——

Jiang Yuyan freshened up and got into the bed but could not fall asleep. All the while she only had worry about Lu Lijun in her mind.

‘It’s all my fault. I don’t know what to do now. I have messed up everything. I need to leave from here. Away from him.’ Jiang Yuyan decided what she had to do next as leaving the entire family behind was not that easy. She had to create the proper reason that no one would question her.

The entire night she only planned about how to carry out everything right and she would leave once Lu Lijun takes her place. But he would only do it once she will leave and that will force him to listen to her. She was sure Lu Lijun would never forget his responsibility towards his elder brother’s dream and his family.

——-

In the middle of the night, Noah who could not sleep for a moment, while worrying about his friend, came out of the room to check on Lu Lijun but only to get a shock. Lu Lijun was lying on the floor and there was an entire bottle of wine left empty next to him.

“Gosh! This guy!”

Noah ran towards him and patted Lu Lijun’s face, “Lijun, wake up. God idiot what did you do?”

Noah called for an ambulance and took him to the hospital that belonged to Lu Corporations. He called Jiang Yang who was a doctor there and Noah didn’t know who else to call when Lu Lijun was in such condition.

Jiang Yang left the home to go to the hospital as he had arranged for Lu Lijun on the VIP floor and away from anyone to reach there.

Lu Lijun was Lu Family’s son and such news about him was meant to keep secret.

The doctor in charge treated Lu Lijun while Jiang Yang was with them.

Treating Lu Lijun, the doctors came out and Noah asked anxiously, “How is he?”

“We have evacuated alcohol from his stomach. He is fine now. He will take a day to wake up,” the doctor informed.

Noah felt relived hearing it and heard the doctor again, “Make sure he won’t touch alcohol again or next time it will be worse.”

“Understood,” Noah replied and the doctor left.

Jiang Yang looked at worried Noah but didn’t ask what happened. He was aware of it already and could only console Noah, “He will be fine.”

“It’s my fault. I should not have left him alone when he asked me to,” Noah said regretfully.

“Don’t worry. We can’t always control or take care of others,” Jiang Yang consoled.
