CH 24

To Yan Jia’s surprise, the locksmith did not arrive as quickly as the leaflet had said he would. Yan Jia waited in the quiet room for a while before the locksmith arrived.

However, it was not only the locksmith staff that came. Two other people who did not look much older than Yan Jia came with him, and they were all wearing the uniform of the Academy Law Enforcement Team.

“The locksmith did not take out a bunch of tools to unlock the lock like Yan Jia had imagined. Instead, he took out a key that was different from the one Yan Jia had forgotten to carry. The door of the quiet room, which could only be opened from the inside with a key, was immediately opened.

Yan Jia could not see what was happening outside in the room, but after receiving the news that the locksmith had arrived, he thought that he would need to wait for a while longer before he saw the man.  When he saw the three people in front of him, he was stunned for a moment.

He didn’t expect that the door to the room would be opened so quickly. Yan Jia was a little worried about the door that was supposed to be very safe.

He also didn’t expect that three people would open the door so easily, and two of them were from the law enforcement team.

Only then did Yan Jia realize that the locksmith was in front of him, and the “key” in the other party’s hands hadn’t been put away yet.

However, there would be many people like Yan Jia who would forget the key outside of the quiet room. Thus, such an all-purpose key would appear, and every time it was used, two members of the law enforcement team would be present to allow it to be used.

After confirming that they had left, Yan Jia raised his right hand. A ball of flame started burning in his right palm, and it gradually wrapped his entire right hand up to his elbow. With the movement of his right hand, Yan Jia drew a bright trail in front of him.

Looking at the orange-red flame on his right arm, this was the first time Yan Jia had felt the flame so clearly. In the past, he felt like he was moving a bunch of things, but now it felt like an instinct. With a new pair of “hands,” he could easily control them with a raise of his hand.

With a thought, the flame suddenly rose from his hand, leaving the restraint of his palm. It kept moving in the air, constantly changing its shape.

Finally, it landed in front of Yan Jia and stopped. It gradually started to condense, and then it slowly became a ball, like another Yan Jia, except for the color.

Yan Jia could feel that besides using a little bit of strength at the beginning of the “ignition,” the flame after that was absorbing some matter in the air and burning. Did this mean that the ‘star’ in front of him could keep burning unless it was extinguished by an external force?
