Chapter 144 Meet Zhou Liying.

With the nightfall, Mu Yuehan arrived at the memorial hall.

"You are here." Zhou Liying nodded at him with approval. "Did you bring the stuff I asked you to bring?"

"I did." He lifted the bags in his hand. He walked toward her and took his seat beside her. "Now go and get refreshed. I am sitting here."

Zhou Liying took the bags from his hand and made her way to the restroom. She first did her business. When she came out of the cubicle, she washed her face with the facewash that Mu Yuehan brought for her.

She then had a shower in the bathroom present in restroom. Once showered, she felt quite relaxed. She wore a fresh dress and sighed. Her last dress was stinking.

She combed her hair and tied them in a bun. Once ready, she walked back to the hall and took her seat beside Mu Yuehan. This time, she kept a distance from him. Mu Yuehan exhaled when he saw the distance.

"Miss, I have sent the food for testing, as per your doubts, it had sleeping pills mixed in it and that too in high dosage. Nothing harmful but strong enough to knock you out for a day." Mu Yuehan informed her.

Zhou Liying sniggered, "no big deal why aunt was so shocked to see me up. She planned to embarrass me by finding me asleep. She still used her old trick on me, not knowing that I am changed." She mocking shook her head in disappointment.

"Does your security service have a uniform with badges and all?" she then asked him.

"They do." Mu Yuehan replied, recollecting that his guards had a uniform. "We have a uniform somewhat like the military. Why do you ask?"

"Because tomorrow you will be joining me, wearing that uniform. You should look like a proper guard." She ordered, looking at him with seriousness. "Also, ask Min Yue to prepare a black mourning dress for me with some expensive jewellery. I want to attend the cremation ceremony as Zhou Liying."

Mu Yuehan slyly smiled when he heard her. He knew what was running in her mind. She wanted to show off in front of her relatives.

"Should I drive an expensive car?" he asked.

Zhou Liying turned and looked at him as if he was a fool. "Can't you get that I want to show off? Of course, you will be driving an expensive car."

Mu Yuehan nodded his head. He was about to shift toward her when she shifted aside. "You should go now. Tonight, I don't need your company."

"But I want to stay because I know you need my company. I have also seen death and I know what effect having others' company can have on a person."

Zhou Liying sighed and closed her eyes. She did not say anything. Soon, she felt the arm of Mu Yuehan making a circle on her back, giving her some kind of relief. Again, she did not say anything.

She kept her eyes closed, not knowing what was happening to her, why did she let her guards down when close to Mu Yuehan? She only knew that whatever he was doing was like doing magic on her.

The next day, when visitors arrived at the memorial hall, they were shocked to see Zhou Liying changed and looking all refreshed. What shocked them more was the dress she wore; it was a simple dress but it looked expensive.

Yesterday itself, they all were mocking her for being poor and not having a change of dress but here she was, wearing a different pair of dresses.

"Aunt, can you sit at my place for some time? I need to go and change. I also need to stretch my body. After all, I was seating at this place for the last forty hours." Zhou Liying said to Huang Jiayi.

Her voice was loud and crisp, for others to hear. She heard a gasp and she smirked.

'Why did she say, the last forty hours? Wasn't Qin Yeteng staying at night?'

Relatives started to discuss her one sentence with their fingers pointed at Huang Jiayi or Zhou Liying.

"By the way, where is Yeteng? Don't tell me that she is still sleeping. I still remember she loved her beauty sleep of the nighttime."

Huang Jiayi fumed when she heard Zhou Liying.

"Yes, she is resting. After all, she stayed here for the whole night. Unlike you, a liar." Huang Jiayi spat loudly, trying to cover her lie.

But her loud voice was evident to everyone that she was trying to hide something, that she may be lying. Zhou Liying chuckled and shook her head.

After making her aunt sit in the place where she was sitting, Zhou Liying left the memorial hall, an hour before the timing of the next ceremony.

When she stepped out of the hall, her Maybach was waiting for her. It was driven by Mu Yuehan.

"Where to?"

"Nearby hotel." Zhou Liying ordered. "Do you have all the things I asked for?"

"Yes, miss." Mu Yuehan replied.

Zhou Liying directly arrived at the graveyard which was now surrounded by the visitors who were there to give their last visit to Qin Yanze. There were nearly two to three hundred people present, even though it was raining lightly.

By now, the body of Qin Yanze was shifted inside the coffin and the coffin was placed near the cremation point. The priests were present and they were doing the last rituals.

Zhou Liying stepped out of her car and with confident steps, walked toward the coffin of Qin Yanze. Mu Yuehan followed after her, like a dutiful guard. He held an umbrella over her head, to protect her from getting wet.

"Is she Qin Tain? She is looking so different from the morning."

Whispers filled in the graveyard with her arrival. Nearly every head turned to look at her and why not, she looked like a strong figure when walking with powerful steps and a bodyguard following after her.

Not only that, but she was wearing the latest design by Zhou Bingbing. It was a black silk dress with delicate net work on its border. This dress was an exhibit in one of the fashion shows, so many visitors were aware of it.

To add in, she was wearing a black diamond necklace around her neck. This necklace was auctioned in London, the last year and was sold at quite a high price. Many visitors were aware of this and they knew the owner of this necklace was not an ordinary person.

Zhou Liying smirked in victory when she noticed how everyone was looking at her with a different perspective from the morning, only because she had changed her attire.

Isn't it true that a person is characterised based on what he or she looks like and what he or she is wearing?

Bitter, but it's the truth of this world!
