Villain Ch 46. Player Killer

Once Allen stepped out of Jane's apartment building, his senses were immediately hit with the cacophony of city sounds. The blaring of car horns, the chatter of pedestrians, and the distant hum of a siren all melded into a symphony of urban chaos.

Quickly, he made his way toward the gym's parking lot. His gaze was drawn toward the gym building. He scanned the seating area, searching for a glimpse of Larissa. But she was nowhere to be found.

Reaching his motorcycle, He ensured that his helmet was securely fastened and started the engine with a satisfying roar. Then Allen expertly maneuvered his motorcycle towards the exit to the busy street, dodging reckless drivers and swerving through traffic, he weaved his way towards his apartment.

In a few minutes, he arrived at his destination and made his way toward the elevator. His mind was already filled with his leveling plan and how he would distribute his status points. But just as he was waiting for the elevator, his phone chimed, startling him out of his reverie. He fished it out of his pocket and saw that he had received a message. Without a second thought, he swiped his finger across the screen to unlock it and read the message. It was from Vivian.

Vivian: Morning, Allen. When will you be online? I'm a little nervous about today's quest. I hope we can complete it together.

A frown appeared on his forehead. 'Today's quest?' he thought. His mind raced with questions, but he quickly concluded that it was likely just one of the daily missions that the game provided. A repetitive quest that could be completed every day, and would be reset every day.

He couldn't help but wonder what today's quest would entail since Kafra had never mentioned it before.

*Ding*

The elevator chimed. Allen's feet carried him into the open elevator, his fingers quickly typing a reply to Vivian's message on his phone screen.

Allen: I just got back from the gym. I'll be online after this.

With a final tap of the screen, he stowed his phone away and pressed the elevator button. As the doors closed, Allen's thoughts drifted back to Vivian's message. 'It's strange,' he thought. Vivian was a skilled gamer, and the daily quests were usually simple enough to be completed by anyone. So why did she need his help?

He couldn't help but wonder what the mission was. Would they be searching for a rare item? Or perhaps the quest involved the elimination of a particularly powerful monster? He guessed that this creature must have a fairly high level, or else Vivian wouldn't have requested his assistance.

Exiting the elevator, he walked to his room. As he entered his living room, he took off his shoes, placing them neatly by the door.

Next, he put away his helmet, took out his keys from his pocket, and with a flick of his wrist, he tossed them onto the side table next to the door. Finally, he shrugged off his leather jacket, revealing a plain white t-shirt underneath, and hung it up on the coat rack by the door.

Quickly, he poured himself a glass of cool water in the kitchen before making his way to his gaming room. The room was dimly lit, with only the flickering light of the computer screen illuminating the space. He took a deep breath and put on his VR headset.

The headset came to life, he felt the device scan his retina, verifying his identity and granting him access to the game. A surge of adrenaline coursed through him as he was finally able to log in and enter the world of Hell's Gate.

His senses were assaulted by a cacophony of sound and color, as he found himself standing in the Cursed Crypts, the same place where he had left his character the day before. But his team was nowhere to be seen, only Thera who greeted him as always.

He was about to go inside the mansion, but suddenly, a transparent box appeared in front of him.

[Welcome back to Hell's Gate, Devil Emperor!]

[You have 1 daily quest.]

'Oh, is this what she means?' he thought.

Allen clicked the announcement in front of him. The box showed another announcement.

[Daily quest]

[Kill 10 players from level 10 to level 25]

[Location: Ilude's Underwater Dungeon (You can only kill players in this location. Once you kill 10 players, you will be teleported back to Cursed Crypts)]

[Target: players]

[Rewards: EXP and coins]

He was stunned. "Kill 10 players, huh?" he muttered. A smirk adorned his face. "This will be interesting." There wasn't any hint of surprise in his tone. He was the villain of this game, of course, he understood why he got this mission. But he didn't expect it to come so quickly. Now he could understand why Vivian asked for his help.

Based on their track record, Vivian was the only player who played more PVE (Player Versus Environment) type of games. Even though she played a lot of MMORPGs, due to her peaceful nature, she never engaged in player versus player combat or entered the battle arena, preferring to keep to herself and avoid confrontation or even went to the battle arena.

Then another hologram box appeared in front of him. It was a chat from Vivian.

[Lilieth: Allen, where are you? Did you read my message? I'm with Shea and Zoe in the portal room. We will do the daily quest together. Do you want to come with us?]

Since she had already listed Allen on her friend list, it would announce her once he was online.

A smile appeared on his lips. "Oh, they're online already?" he muttered in excitement.

His feet swiftly stepped into the mansion. With a quick wave of his hand, a holographic keyboard appeared before him. His fingers flew across the keys as he typed his reply to the message he had received.

[Azazel: I'm in! Wait for me, I'm on my way.]
