Chapter 294 Sneaking Into The Adventurer’s Guild

-----

It has been a week since my sparring match with Erdrich and Elizabeth, and things had gone by slowly as usual. The pregnancy of my mother is going alright, and the town has been overall peaceful. I had seen reports about the Wyvern, most of the said the creature had gone back to the Mountain Range, but if people wander too close to its territory, they would hear a terrifying groan and the enormous flying creature would emerge and attack anybody nearby. Just by thinking about absorbing this monster's Spirit Orb and obtaining a Wyvern Familiar myself was really making my imagination go wild, however, it was too strong for me to even fathom the possibility of going to challenge it… yet.

The Adventurers seem to have been cautious and only wander around the areas of the Grassy Plains where the Wyvern can't see them, usually at the opposite direction of his territory, facing behind the mountain range. It seems that nobody is brave enough to fight against the creature, even though I've sometimes sensed Adventurers with Spirit Orbs of Rank 2 and beyond, perhaps even if someone was Rank 3, they're not confident in beating it due to the wyvern being probably not one but two ranks stronger than wyverns usually are.

While Wyverns are usually between E and D in strength depending in their age, this creature might as well be C or slightly above that, B! A B Rank monster… That's already stronger than the damn Demon General and just below Demon Lords. Probably the Wyvern is easier to handle, as they're monsters with behaviors similar to animals, such as being territorial. The creature doesn't seem innately evil like demons and lacks their cunningness and intelligence, and simply wants to be left alone. I heard some speculate it had built a nest and was raising its eggs, which might bring even more wyverns in the future.

Nonetheless, while my friends trained their Skills and slowly cultivated to gain more Stats, I've been doing pretty much the same, living my daily life slowly. I recently joined the priests into healing another noble family and learned a bit more about the Lost Continent from Ellergest, alongside the rumored Demon King, which wasn't a rumor but real, as it was confirmed three years ago that a Demon King was moving its troops to the Central Continent from the Lost Continent of the north. This whole thing seems quite urgent. I believe that wherever I finish my years in that academy, I'll go straight to war. If I become a citizen and also join an academy that is raising adventurers and knights, then it's a given they'll offer me the chance of joining the frontlines.

But… do I truly want such a thing? Well, yes. I am no coward and although I enjoy my daily life here, I am eager to fight and gain strength. A war with thousands of demons everywhere will easily be the greatest source of EXP I could ever wish for. But in war there are also many risks, and even my friends wouldn't be safe forever. This is why I want them to train their foundation as much as possible and not slack at all. But aside from merely training my Skill Proficiency, I want to do more than that, such as Leveling Up, and today, after a week of thinking and planning it, I've finally decided to go register Eleanora as an Adventurer.

Eleanora has the ability to shapeshift her body. She can turn in either her true adult form, or her energy saving mode, which is a little girl everyone knows. Only in the war she appeared as an adult, so almost nobody knows about her true appearance, I will use this appearance of hers to register her as an adventurer, which will give her the ability to trespass the Grassy Fields and go hunt higher level monsters.

Of course, I had also thought about the other option, trying to practice Spirit Fusion with Eleanora once more. The last resort we used against the Demon General, which drains me dry from my Ki and MP is not something I can leisurely use to pass as an adult. This ability has been hard to recreate since then to be honest, but we have been testing it biweekly with Eleanora. The fusion is unstable and it only lasts at most a minute, but it grants a ridiculous boost to our strength and magical power in exchange from draining us almost dry of our energies. I feel like I might soon learn a Skill for it, but for now, this is not something I can consider reliable at all.

Oh and talking about that, I've been practicing my Tier 2 Soul Attribute Magic through the weeks as well, but I have still not reached enough practice and confidence to grab a soul from my Origin Core yet. So until I feel confident enough, I will be delaying this for a few months, perhaps.

"Are you ready, Eleanora?" I asked.

"Y-Yes… I am ready. But are you sure this is alright? I feel like… We might be found out." She sighed.

"With your [Illusion], [Stealth], and [Charm] Skills, that's almost impossible. Be more confident and step in." I said to her, as I was inside of her shadows through the Shadow Sneak Skill.

"V-Very well then." Eleanora sighed. She looked rather beautiful in her adult form, long red hair, pale as candle wax skin, sharp red eyes. She was wearing black leather pants and boots with sharp heels, a white shirt with a black blouse, and a pair of belts wrapped around her hips, while a spear was being carried behind her back. She looked just like a prestigious-looking Adventurer.

When we entered the Adventurer Guild, I saw many people talking and discussing about literally every topic imaginable. Some were drinking surrounding small circular tables, and other parties were discussing if they had to take requests or not. This was, quite honestly, the perfect place where I could gather information about the world surrounding me.

And of course, the moment someone as dazzling as Eleanora stepped in, most people inside set their gazes into her.

The bustling building was suddenly thrown into complete silence.
