Chapter 165 The Aurelius Family (4)

Lukas wondered if it was his time to leave the Aurelius House. It became quite clear to him that 'Von' boy didn't know where the Vardokens where, so it wasn't him who had taken them away.

And as much as Lukas would have asked help from grandfather dearest, it also became clear that there was some unresolved tension going.

The blue haired Vampire was also silent and also seemed to have the same idea as him.

Their gazes temporarily met, and Iolathane quickly glanced away with a scowl.

Lukas couldn't help but grinning slightly at that.

Based on all the Vampire women he kinda encountered, it was a rare thing for him to be disliked this way… but that wasn't really important right now.

Now that this Vampire girl wasn't also looking at him, this was the time for him to slip away—

"Lukas! Lukas!" Rhea's voice erupted.

Or not.

Lukas grimaced but gave a subtle glance towards the Dream Eater that had slipped through the abode of the Aurelius House. There was a certain look on her face that seemed to say that she had news to deliver.

'Guess who found the Aurelius House first.' Lukas thought with some hint of a teasing tone.

"That's not important right now! You have to save your friends!" Rhea grabbed his shirt's collar, or at least attempted to and tried to shake him.

'What?!' Lukas' eyes widened. 'What do you mean that I need to save them? This is… this supposed to be a safe place! What could have possibly happened to—'

"Okay, calm down a little and let me tell you what happened." Rhea let go of his shirt and noticed that his expression was rather easy to read. Far more easier than most times. "There's these three Vampire ladies, they're pretty and they stopped the van from going and then before you know it, Theodore is talking with them. They're from the Carmilla House or something. I don't think anything good will come out of their interaction!"

'Why did it take you this long to find me?' Lukas asked.

"I tried to find you right away, but you were a constant and moving object I guess!" Rhea exclaimed.

Lukas didn't think he had actually moved that fast enough to outrun a spirit but then glanced at Leonardo and Elias. The two still seemed stuck in a family conversation but his friends' lives were at stake.

"Didn't he say that the Carmilla House was bad news?" Lukas muttered.

"They are." Leonardo glanced directly at him.

Elias shot him a narrowed stare, but then tried to continue the conversation with his grandfather. He wasn't only doing this to escape from a possible marriage, it was much bigger than this.

Unfortunately, Leonardo's attention was captured once more.

"What is it about the Carmilla House that troubles you, boy?" Leonardo asked.

"Uh, I just remembered that my three friends encountered three Vampire ladies and are probably taken away by them. I think it fits the description you told me… since I uh came here to actually inform you of that, or Von rather."

Elias could easily tell that there were some lies in that statement, but then Leonardo glanced at him and his grandson.

"You mean to say that the Carmilla House will be meeting these two Vardokens? Why didn't you say so in the first place?" Leonardo crossed his arms. "I expected better from you, Von."

"It kind of slipped my mind." Lukas said.

"Clearly, we haven't been able to meet yet, grandfather." Elias sighed but then frowned. "But will you actually come and change your decision now that you've heard—"

"I don't know if Miss Durand will keep her lips shut or not, but I suppose it's quite likely that news had already spread if the Carmilla House learns of these two Vampires." Leonardo shook his head.

"Er, I'm…" Iolathane froze up. She had to be the one to tell the Argenti House first to get to their good side and so she quickly had held on to her communication device.

"Nevermind. Everyone will hear of it." Leonardo said.

"… and I've just received a text from one of the Carmilla House daughters." Elias checked his own device.

"Fraternizing with them as usual." Leonardo clicked his tongue.

Elias didn't think that it was possible for him to dislike his grandfather, and yet in less than a span of an hour, somehow it just so happened to end up that way.

"There's validity in your statement, and so I guess we're going there." Elias said.

"Sounds good." Lukas said, relieved that he wouldn't have to go there alone… or look for another map to the Carmilla House.

"You—fine, come along." Elias frowned but gave up trying to be upset. Even if Elias was able to discover a side about his grandfather that he didn't like, it didn't mean that he'd be entirely unreasonable to someone who got separated from his friends.

Lukas tried not to think much about working with Von Aurelius, since he was only interested in being reunited with Stacy, Alexei and Theodore because he had no idea how bad the Carmilla House actually was.

Based on how the Aurelius Overlord seemed to describe them, it was almost like they'd swallow you alive.

However, Von said another thing.

"My grandfather calls me Von, but most other people call me Elias." Elias glanced at Lukas who was seated with him in the front seats of the car. They, or rather, Elias was driving for the Overlord while Lukas took the shotgun seat.

"Ah, does that mean that I'll call you Elias too?" Lukas raised a brow.

"Young Lord is fine." Elias said.

"You don't seem to…" Lukas started, but then dropped his sentence midway. He really didn't care much about what other people thought of him as long as they were cooperative. "How bad actually are the Carmillas?"

"They're not bad." Elias frowned and glanced at the rearview mirror.

There was actually a division that gave privacy to the backseats, hence why they were able to talk without the interruption of his grandfather.

"Then it means that they're alright." Lukas said, relieved.
