"Ah, why couldn't I have gotten more options for Vampire Skills? I would have wanted something like flight–beats walking around." Lukas sighed as he arrived back at his apartment and plopped down his bed.

The notification still showed itself in the corner of his vision, awaiting his decision and it made his brows bunch up together.

"Does it mean that I won't be able to choose the other one if I choose the other? It feels very limiting..." Lukas folded his hands together. "But I guess this is what you get out of a Dating Sim Game, other aspects aren't exactly taken care of much."

Depending on your chosen Skills and how you use them, your reputation will vary.

There are three main archetypes.

Overlord - the strength of your body, your form and your ability is greater than your peers and provides for a dominating aura. Use your overwhelming strength to make everyone bow to you.

Seducer - power is not only in the physical aspect, but in the mental aspects as well, a more sophisticated way. Grow in numbers and collect your kind.

Arcane - there are other mystical abilities at work, taken away from your kind, unlock them once more and grow to the heights of power that deserves awe and fear

"Huh, well isn't that helpful and not helpful at the same time... now I kind of get why it's Physical Manipulation and Charm. One corresponds to the Overlord and the other the Seducer... but the Arcane is locked?" Lukas rested his back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. He raised his hand and closed his fists before opening it again, visualizing mana in his hand.

"It didn't occur to me that magic exists–but of course it does! And the fact that the Vampires haven't been able to tap into it is something that is either a flaw created by the Creators of the game for no reason at all–geez, this is starting to seem more like a Mystery game than a Dating Sim Game... but magic."

The pinnacle of those in society were the powerful and the rich–and magic was an answer. Lukas dreamed of it himself, ever since he was a young boy–he'd read the books, seen the old stories and even witnessed it afar when he was in human form. It occurred during the Gathering in the colosseum, that it was a surprise that the Vampires had none of it when even some humans had magic. Limited and only a select had a gift for it, but it was still there.

"Magic... I could have magic."

Lukas twitched his fingers and let out a sardonic smile. It was something that made this troubling situation–the fact that he couldn't log out–something almost story-like. Magical. Yes, that was the right word.

"I was a nobody in my old life, but now? I could be someone who I want and do anything I desire." Lukas sat up and glanced out the tall glass-stained windows.

In the past, looking out the windows was something that elicited loneliness to him–tall buildings that held humans in their individual boxes, trapped and confined in a sense... but here?

The expanse of the night sky glittering with stars welcomed him and made Lukas feel whole. Hope surged within his chest and he clenched his fists together.

"I could spend the entire time panicking over what happened to me, but that's a useless spending of time–instead, why can't I just accept this situation and make the most of it?"

Lukas was still alive, he was breathing and that was enough.

"Of course, I want more–I want something more than my old life... I want to become rich, I want to live a good life, I want to be with someone–no with everyone. I want to taste each and everyone of them and live my life to the fullest. I've been reborn, so why can't I indulge in what I want? The only thing holding me back is what I make out of things."

"I'll accumulate more credits–get promotions in work, afford things to improve my lifestyle, get the girl and then use the skills, and then after that..." Lukas unclenched his fist and looked at the buildings.

"Maybe things will start making sense and I'll be happy. Hah. What a simple motivation–it's pathetic. But isn't that enough? Live a good life? Indulge in my desires and live a hedonistic lifestyle–it's really way better than spending time thinking to myself and talking to myself. Come on, just get some sleep and then you'll get to work tomorrow and meet Lily."

When Lukas thought of her, his mind eased up a little as he visualized her face and he laid back down on the bed.

"She's nice–out of the three options, she seems like the kind of caring girlfriend that would snuggle with me here in bed and drink hot cocoa with... well, blood with." Lukas chose to ignore the implications of surviving on blood–that wasn't his main agenda. His own personal happiness was what he was after and drinking blood just came with the kind that he was now in.

"And right, I nearly forgot to choose a Skill." Lukas eyed the notification once again.

"Is there any kind of explanation? There has to be–ah, there we go."

Physical Manipulation (Basic)

You have gained the ability to change your form as you will and change appearance.

Increase your mastery to further enhance your ability and utilize physical manipulation to strengthen your body

"Okay, so the first of physical manipulation is mostly cosmetic wise–just maybe changing my hair color and other stuff, but in terms of combat it doesn't do anything." Lukas murmured. "It's good if I want to look more attractive or something like espionage–not that I see myself needing that yet, but it's fun cosmetic wise. Now for the Charm though."

Charm (Basic)

You have gained a general increase in your appearance that will leave mortals more entranced with you when they see you.

It may also increase your attractiveness among low-level members of your kind, and more mastery may unlock more useful skills

"Huh, the two basically do the same thing if I wanted to... but the difference is the path I'm taking. Argh, why can't I have magic?"

You can now undertake the discovery of magic by searching for the old ways.

"Hmmm, I really want magic–and I'm not losing much if I don't choose my first skill right away. Let's take this mission–I'll do this, work and get the girls."

Lukas' stomach suddenly growled.
