Chapter 462 462. CARETAKERS

Name:UNLIMITED SPEED Author:Adamoforder
Lady Liya remained silent as she stared at Noah's face, unable to get a proper reaction from him. She honestly felt uncertain about what she wanted to prove there. But she did it anyway.

Noah shrugged, making his acting skills reach their peak. He tried not to get worried about what had just happened. He was in enemy territory and acting suspiciously would put him in the limelight. He would hate to be forced out of that nation.

Lady Liya furrowed her brows at that point, she didn't know what to do again. If he denied knowing what had occurred to him there was nothing she could say. Even if he said he knew, all she could do was ask that she studied him.

Apart from that, she couldn't do anything to him. He was the guest of the royal council and they would find it an insult to them if she suggested that she turned him into a test subject, who would most likely die from the many things she would make him go through.

She heaved a sigh. Only inwardly.

"You were asleep for about seven hours," she moved to change the topic. For now, she would keep her strange findings to herself.

Noah felt no surprise by her words. Having slept days on end. A few hours would be considered a nap.

Lady Liya didn't like his lack of reaction, but he had barely made any when he rose from his slumber.

Noah, with all his looks, became a tad bit annoying and maybe disrespectful before the eyes of the expert.

"He's been waiting outside for your return, Goodbye young man. Till we meet next time," Lady Liya explained with a blank expression before waving her hand to make him disappear.

Noah felt his world twist and felt a weird force act on his body as the world seemed to fold, and he opened his eyes in front of a building surrounded by a spectacular garden.

A bit stunned by both the beauty of the garden and the event, Noah noted how the teleport had been painless. He turned to look at the building and his eyes fell on a great tower.

His instincts warned him about opening the door. He felt a strong danger from simply staring at it.

He fell into a bit of marvel, but his attention was pulled to the sound of armor clinking, and he snapped his head to allow his gaze to fall on the yellow armor of a knight.

"I'm glad you're awake!" the expert jogged forward. His voice was filled with joy and excitement, even relief.

Noah nodded recognizing the expert as the one he had sparred with.

Revealing a smile, he allowed the expert take hold of his hands to inspect them.

"They are really gone," his voice contained a tinge of astonishment, but also confidence. Lady Liya had once again proved to him that she was capable.

The knight seemed to heave a sigh of relief, and Noah couldn't help but feel he had truly worried.

"We should return to your rooms. I have been informed that your arrival to the face of the council will be by this evening." The knight explained and Noah felt pleasantly surprised, even if he went tense a bit.

He nodded with a determined gaze.

"Which way to our rooms?" He asked, sweeping his gaze over the garden around him. He wanted to spend hours there.

"I carried you on our way here. It's faster that way," the knight explained. Noah furrowed his brows. He might have been unconscious but the thought of being carried embarrassed him.

A force suddenly wrapped around his body, however, and he watched the knight turn and leap forward in one smooth series of actions.

Unable to protest, Noah braced himself for the things to come next.

His world became blurred as they shot high into the sky before descending in an arc.

In that instant, they crossed a large distance, and Noah saw that they would land exactly on a lake.

He worried a bit, but all of it disappeared when the expert landed on the surface of the water and propelled himself forward and upward again.

They went through that process a few times before the court they had sparred in unfolded in Noah's eyes.

The expert landed at that point, and Noah could find his way from that location.'

Still, the man would not let him go even while he walked down the path toward his room. He wondered where Madison and Bon were. Even Loria.

Who would think he would get injured badly enough to require assistance from a tier 4 cultivator?

"Were you assigned to us?" Noah asked at some point.

"All knights have been ordered to treat you all with respect. So in short we were all assigned to you," the expert explained closely following behind Noah.

Noah furrowed his brows but remained silent. It's not like he didn't like that treatment, he simply lacked the essential trust to appreciate it.

He saw all of those knights as potential enemies. And he knew one day they would be. It was only a matter of time.

The trip down the passageway soon ended and the doors to their different rooms appeared in Noah's eyes.

"Thank you very much for your help," Noah bowed even if he only meant a tinge of his words. It was mostly for politeness and nothing more.

"No, I am to blame for my careless actions," the knight bowed. Noah found it highly uncomfortable.

Until he was tier 4 he would never get used to seeing such experts bow before him. Especially when they did it so willingly.

The knight soon straightened his position and Noah gazed at the line linear space that would allow him to see.

The only way he could recognize him was his voice.

"An escort of we knights will return to pick you up," The expert pointed out, and Noah could only nod in affirmation.

He approached his door and pushed on it.

His brows furrowed for he felt a presence within the room.

"I forgot to mention. Your caretakers from the guild council arrived a few hours ago," the knight called out from behind Noah, and when he finally entered his eyes fell on Miranda.

She sat on his bed with a smile. Her smile was inviting.
