Chapter 283 283. BEAM

Name:UNLIMITED SPEED Author:Adamoforder
"I guess I'll have to overwhelm them," Noah sighed uncertain of his next actions, even if his figure began to blaze with the empowerment of the speed force. In mere seconds he transformed into a glowing figure within the cold chambers of his icy protection.

Noah could see himself going all-out, but also conserving as much energy as he could in the battle to come.

Crouching within the cylindrical walls of his icy encasement, Noah felt his eyes grow cold as he switched to the emotionless portion of his mind. Taking a deep breath before letting it out, he took a big step forward.

An explosion akin to the sound of shattering glass disquieted the expanse's silence, as a deep-yellow streak burst forth from within the chaos of flying shards of sharp ice.

Noah crashed into his first target and delivered as many punches as his arms could muster in the span of a second. Needless to say, his rapid offensive left the flaming barrier of his target almost non-existent.

With eyes determined to make his first kill, Noah allowed dense electrical energy gather on his right arm and he executed a powerful lunge with the sharp energy that it had become.

His energy blade met resistance, but it prevailed after what felt like days to Noah. Red blood spurted everywhere as his arms dug into the shocked beasts to reach a point in its figure that it had to give up its ghost.

[You have killed Level 65 Grand serpent of flames]

The panel immediately appeared in his eyes, but instead of an immediate exp gained message, Noah watched the lifeless body of the serpent transform into a glowing yellow mass that shattered into individual dust-like particles and floated directly into his figure at speeds that even his empowered mind was unable to follow.

[You have gained Exp]

[You have leveled up twice]

[You have gained 2000 stat points]

[You have gained a 10% increase to all stats]

[You are now Level 63]

A feeling like never before flowed into Noah's consciousness as he felt forced to halt his rapid movements to bask in the ecstasy his whole being experienced. The stress his body had built up as a result of cultivating, dispersed, allowing for a vacuum that desired to be filled with more power to come into existence.

The ten percent increase in overall power made Noah feel like he could place the world under his feet. Unfortunately, the multiple loud hisses broke through his enjoyment to remind him of his situation.

Noah's eyes suddenly turned hungry at the sight of exactly 49 Grand serpents. They had stopped becoming beasts and were now masses of exp waiting to be harvested.

Noah raised his head to voice what felt like a roar but was something more. The beasts within the whole expanse immediately trembled at the roar. Their minds seemed to experience fear, but Noah remained too busy taking down his next target to notice such insignificant details.

Having already understood how to kill them, Noah found himself keeping a steady flow of energy on the manifestation of his energy blades. An offensive he had long since shelved but seemed the best way to preserve his energy.

The amount of speed essence needed to properly wound one of the serpents stood at about 400 points. And it would be a one-time use.

Crackling unto his second kill target; it looked isolated from the rest. Noah understood that his movements were the most important offensive he had on that battlefield. He had to remain on his toes constantly to gain a winning chance. He also had to admit to himself that he could only kill one of the beasts at a time.

Anymore, and he would find himself mindlessly wasting essence, without making any real improvements.

Plunging his right arm into the neck of the large serpentine beast, Noah paid no attention to finesse or tactic and brutally ripped its long neck from the rest of its scaled figure.

A sense of fatigue hit him at that action. since he had literally poured all his strength into that seemingly simple action.

Thankfully, the prompt containing the news of his level up showed up to shatter the fatigue. Unfortunately, he had only leveled up once, which meant his requirement had increased. However, he worried not.

Taking a rapid side step to suddenly appear about seventy meters from his former position. Noah dodged the barrage of fireballs that landed on that spot.

Due to their constitution being based on the speed forces energy, the serpents were able to follow Noah's movements with their reptilian eyes, even if their bodies weren't able to handle the movement speed his was capable of.

This, however, coupled with their above-average intelligence meant they could time attacks. In simply three or so exchanges, the beasts had already adapted to his power.

'Creepy,' Noah thought as a blue magical circle expanded beneath his feet. The circle, however, suddenly shone brighter to multiply itself into precisely ten places.

The figures of two golems flaring with cold mists manifested from each circle, and they immediately shot forward to distract as many beasts as they could according to their master's will.

A fierce battle exploded forth at that point. The casting time of that small army had been in less than a second, but the serpents already had their attacks prepared for the army's coming.

Noah had to consciously dodge explosions since they could hurt him. His golems lost by a landslide due to the constitution of their opponents, but he never expected them to kill any beasts.

If even he couldn't; until he empowered himself before creating a weapon, then they had no chance.

Noah estimated that by the ended of the battle he would have burnt about 20k SE points, but thankfully his pool continued to increase by 5% with each level up. It also seemed the beasts were all at level 65, which meant the cost would have to reduce at some point since he got stronger.

Spotting a serpent that had managed to shatter two golems by itself, but was still in the process of getting rid of the spreading ice, Noah took that moment of weakness to shoot toward it.

A bright flash shone amongst the many explosions, but it could barely be noticed due to the other events occurring in the background.

Arriving directly in front of the beast, Noah delivered nothing less than 30 powerful punches on its head. His offensive needless to say, crushed a side of its serpentine head in that instant, as soft tissues even began to appear under the fallen scales.

Unfortunately, that offensive had not been enough to kill it. The serpent had even sent its tail towards him in a deep desire to sever his body in two.

Unfortunately for it, Noah wouldn't let that happen. His figure turned into a bright streak of deep-yellow light to arrive on its left side in an instant.

The sound of hard materials cracking and shattering spread out in that instant as Noah embedded his left arm into the beast's side.

Gritting his teeth and dragging his arm down, Noah successfully tore through the beast's belly, but a series of magical circles appeared on the beast's green scales, and Noah felt his instincts scream in fear. But it had been too late.

The bulky serpent before him exploded into a fiery mass that fed on its flesh to gain more destructive power, before Noah could fully kill it. And he had been caught in the explosion.

Cough mouthful of blood whilst trying to remove his figure from the crater his figure had dug in the wall and been embedded in, Noah tried to ignore the pain he felt, but a series of fiery attacks landed on his figure before he could do much, spreading more wounds on his figure.

He could only endure the heat while he re summoned his armor spell, even if it immediately shattered under the fiery offensive.

However, before the beasts could continue their relentless attacks, a large whitish-blue beam exited the spot that contained Noah's figure, to travel towards the other end of the expanse in the most violent explosion that underground structure had experienced since the start of the battle.

The attack, however, after it dispersed revealed the frozen spectacle it had created, as nothing less than ten serpents had been caught up in it. All which had turned into frozen sculptures.
