Chapter 41 – Little Sister Learning Sewing Skills

My helpful little sister1 gave me the ‘Uninhabited Island Development Skill’, provided me with Gale Tulle, and gave me various advice and even strengthened me at times. She’s really handy to have around.

Although her true identity is still unclear… for the time being, she is generally known and feared as the ‘Demon Lord.’ I had no interest and didn’t even know about it.

With such a little sister, I was walking through the forest towards the cave.

“Hey, Havamar.”

“What is it, big brother?”

“Why do you have cat ears? And how did you get that slime cushion in the house?”

“These cat ears are a costume item…it’s my favorite, so I equipped them.”

A costume item?

So there are things like that.

“And what about the cushion?”

“Hmm. I have the ‘Sewing Skill’.”

“Sewing Skill?”

“You can make clothes, cushions like that, cosplay costumes, and more.”

“I see. I didn’t expect you to be able make clothes.”

Apparently, it seems to be one of Havamar’s hobbies, and she has acquired such skills. Well, if my clothes are torn, I wonder if I can have them repaired.

“Shall I make clothes for you too, big brother? It might be a good idea to change that prince outfit soon as well.”

“That’s right, I’m no longer a prince of the empire, and I want to dress appropriately for this island. If you need materials or anything, just let me know and I’ll collect them.”

“Basically, we need ‘thread’ but unfortunately we’re already out of it. The way to get it is, we either need to defeat monsters that drop ‘fine hair’ or use the raw material ‘cotton’ dropped by plant monsters.”

That’s quite a difficult request. Well, I’ll consider it lucky if we can get it while exploring the cave. In the first place, what kind of monsters drop ‘fine hair’ or ‘cotton’ anyway?

“Please tell me.”

“There are many types of monsters that drops ‘hair’, like the ‘Pink Netherland Dwarf,’ for example. But they’re cute, so I get angry if someone defeat them!”

“Well, I can’t tell what they are just by their names.”

She puffed her cheeks and placed her hands above her ears around her temples, moving her hands up and down, and I realized she was mimicking a rabbit.

I see. It’s a rabbit-type monsters that drops ‘hair’? That’s hard to defeat even for me. And, Havamar will hate me for it. It’s a no-go.

“We have no choice but to defeat the plant monster ‘Mandragora’.”

“Oh yeah, I’ve heard of that. It’s the one that screams when you pull it out.”

“It probably inhabits this island too.”

Then let’s defeat the Mandrake.

I hope it appears somewhere.

We finally arrived at the cave.

Last time, I defeated the giant boar “Grimbrusti”. Although no pitfalls remain, the marks of its destruction were still visible.

The inside of the cave… seems to be calm.

Alright, with this, it looks like we can mine for “iron ore”.

TN: If you miss the footnote: “義妹” the author uses this to refer to Havamar, which translates to younger sister-in-law or stepsister, which technically, she is his little sister.
